Is it bad that I am more excited that I got a shout out on Hip2save than scoring 5 packs of these socks on the cheap. ;o) Thanks Collin!

  • Nicole says:

Does anyone know if they are the same price in store? I need them by Saturday, so I would rather pick them up in store if available.

    • Amy says:

I saw them in stores first at this price. I would have bought them there, except they only had about 5 pairs left, and they were all black…not so cute for cupcakes! Anyway, yes, they are the same price, but you never know what their stock will be like! HTH.

My walmart has this type of sock (same size, cute colors & patterns) for just under $3 per 2 pack.

    • Maybe it’s just here in tourist-y Central Florida but we have commercialized flea markets all over (the type that sell lots of fake purses, sun glasses and R/C helicopters). There are multiple Chinese dollar stores set up at all of them and they sell these socks for $1/pair. Most are solid colors or stripes but it seems like the white or pink ones would work well for cupcakes.

      • Amy says:

Just wanted everyone to know, these are SUPER soft and silky, not sure if you’d get the same quality at Walmart or other places. Just wanted to point that out.

I seen this idea and loved it. Had to make a few for gifts. At our local Burkes store they had the socks 3 in a pack for 4.99 with 10% off special discount. The only problem that I ran into was we are from a small town and no one sells the muffin papers. I tried cupcake papers but they was to small. Wish I could add a pic. of my attempt at this project. lol We ended up using 3 squares of tissue, each turned a little to have 12 tips as a replacement for the muffin papers. They turned out pretty cute :) We did use the cupcake logo sweet treats for a hang tag.

The Dollar Tree usually has scalloped edge bulletin board border pieces about 12 inches long, with several pieces in a pack. You could roll it and tape it together to form a cup,if one layer wasn’t strong enough you could double it. For the bottom I would just run tape across it,the socks would stick a little to the tape and probably help keep them in it. And of course they have these according to the season so they shouold have Christmas in now.

i just made some for my son’s teacher. i bought some colored paper cups in the birthday section of the store. i cut them in half with my scalloped scissors and it came out so cute. i added some rick-rack around the top to give it some color. also, instead of keeping the sock together with a rubberband, i used scotch tape. very easy to make.

  • Jessica B says:

For people who think they are too slippery, you can buy puffy fabric paint and make dots or lines on the bottom of the socks. That creates a slip proof bottom like the ones on toddler socks. :)

  • Ashley says:

do you know if these have the grippy things on the bottom things or are they just fuzzy and soft :) I ask this bc my grandma loves slipper socks and these would be great to add to her gift if they have the grips :) Thanks :D

  • Stephanie says:

Twelve pairs of socks for a little over $20! Thanks so much Collin. I will definitely be making some cupcakes, but a few will stay with me!!!!! :)

  • Jaqueline says:

Does anyone know when the free shipping code expires? I wanted to wait til my 30% off code is valid to purchase. Thank you!

    • Sandra says:

They will be gone by then. I’d order now. There is the 20% code so you’re only missing out on 10%. Is it worth saving .31 each to try to wait?

  • AmyR says:

For those are concerned that these don’t have grippers on the bottom… I wonder if you coudn’t buy some puff paint and make polka dots on the soles the socks and make them gripper socks that would be safe for Grandma? I would think the puff paint would wash very well as long as you didn’t dry it on high. Just a thought…

And thanks Collin! I snagged three sets of these to make some stocking stuffers.

  • Jen says:

they had a ton of these available today at my store (erie, pa). i went at 11pm and there was a bunch left in a ton of colors. they were marked at $3.99! so after the 20% they were $3.19 (no sales tax on clothes in pa)! also, if you cant find cupcake holders you can just cut scrap book paper :) thanks for everything colin!!!! ps: i grabbed a keurig special edition today as well for $99!!! retail at $189.99!! best deal of the season!

I ordered some kid socks that I got an email for saying they were ready to ship and then an email saying system cancel. Hmm. do not know why. I LOVE socks so I may try this deal for me.

Looks like the SECRETSANTA code is expired, try using CC20DEC12.

  • Mandi says:

I made several of these over the weekend and the Carmex tube was SUPER cute instead of the ball. :-) Wal-Mart had the 3 pack for $2.74 and I used the $.30 off q from the RP 10/30. I did buy the socks at the store and they were cheaper. $3.59 and then I used my 20% off code. (Not hardly worth the drive though…)

  • Amy says:
