Last night at Walmart I was able to get boxes of Ziploc bags for just .6 cents a box. They where on clearence for .56 cents they had a holiday print on them and I had a $1/2 coupon. I was so excited we go through alot of them for snacks and stuff. When I got home from the store I was all excited when I was telling my husband about this awesome deal but he didnt share the joy with me.lol…He just looked at me and said sorry this kind of stuff doesnt excite me as much as it does you..lol…
LOL! I hear ya. My husband says, “That’s awesome or good job” but I know these things don’t excite him like they do me. Now if I could get a 40 inch TV at a ridiculous price I’m sure he would be jumping for joy 🙂

Don’t be too hard on the hubbys now…it’s all about the approach.
Instead of saying, “I saved $0.36 on sandwich baggies” (because that won’t get it), you have to go broader, “we saved $5,500 this past year by couponing”…
In my home, I tell my wife that in 6 months time we’ve been able to save close to $4,000 and her jaw hits the floor. And when she sees me bring home $188 in retail product and I tell her I spent a little over a dollar…she gets it.

My husband used to get excited about some of my couponing deals but Ive been doing it for almost two years now and I think he is just a little burnt out.lol Plus I dont think he always understands how much things have went up in price in the last couple years.
That doesn’t work for me, because my hubby says “where is the $5,500? If you can’t show it to me you didn’t “save” it. Sigh.
My husband did that to me two years ago ( asked where the money saved was) so this past year, whatever I “saved” I rolled over to my savings account. If after a grocery trip I saved $55 bucks, I transferred $55 bucks to savings, etc and so on… at the end of the year, when I said ” honey I saved X amount” and he said “where is it then?” I was able to bring up our savings account statement and say ” right here!” lol His expression and reaction was priceless! Now with that money saved, and truly saved, we have some wiggle room for something nice for our family 🙂
Really? My hubby LOVES when I manage to get a really good deal! But, he hates hearing me talk about what scents to pick out. Hey, he’s gotta smell the scent on me, too. Ya know?

There was a $2 off 3 12 pk in the paper yesterday that I told him about when he came in last night. Also told him I had checked and best price was to comp 3/$11 at Dollar General when going to WM. This morning when I got up, paper was laying on the table with coupon cut out. ROFL Who would have thought?
I love that! Mine is ok with couponing as long as it doesn’t take up “too much” time. So I’ve learned to work on it when he is otherwise occupied with football games or some other activity. We got our first check from Endorse today: approx 50.00. That actually impressed him.

I was able to get 6 cute Christmas pillow’s that I had seen before Christmas but didn’t want to pay the $12.88 price for each one. My total price yesterday for 6 pillow’s was….$3.00 plus tax! They were 50 cents each! SCORE! Saving them for next year! I also went to K-mart and got glitter luxury 24-ct boxed cards, 21 foil gift tags, 24 red/green boxes for wrapping presents in, bag of 36 fancy bows and 4 rolls of wrapping paper for $8.55!
Walmart angers me more and more everytime I go there. Last time, I tried to use the Yes to Carrots! coupon and the manager accused me of fraud and threatened to call the police. I was mortified she was acting like that, but also really angry.
I felt the same way the other day. The cashier told me if the coupon doesn’t scan they won’t accept it ($1.00 off General Mills cereal) and then told me they don’t accept bogo (sunbelt cereal bars) coupons. Then he had the nerve to say it was “company policy”. There were too many people behind me and at customer service so I just had my husband go back later to get my savings, but I was a little angry.
Thats why when I shop I go to the ppl that I know, and I know the policies, cuz I work there on overnights.. but still the cashiers should know the policies. I love couponing, and I used every single coupon that you said.. all the cashier needs to do is hit the amount of the coupon and hit vendor coupon, and it’ll go thru. they are just being stubborn!! I also had a cashier accuse me of having a coupon that looked like i copied it, and I’m like.. 1. I work here, and would never that, and 2. IT’s a colored coupon!!!! you can’t copy colored coupons.. really.. some cashiers needs a 101 on couponing!!!
They accused me of photocopying the coupon too! I said, “No, I printed it from their FB page.” “Well, it’s not color.” I told her I printed it in gray scale and I printed some at work so I didn’t waste my ink. Then she told me it was fraudulent because it didn’t have the box around it with the text, and every coupon that doesn’t have the box is fraud. This was from the manager! I should have called corporate. Luckily, Target let me use them with no problem because they were manufacturer coupons.
I had the same problem with the Yes To Carrots coupon. There was no way to print it except “print page” so I printed the entire page and brought the entire Facebook page with me. It wouldnt scan. Fortunately I had a nice cashier and pointed out here is my entire FB page if your manager gives you a problem. She was really nice. I have a Walmart in my area like yours, I dont shop at that one, I go to a different one. Whenever you are treated that way, call Corporate. It is totally unacceptable to be treated that way!
seriously, call corporate! they’ll deal with these workers who don’t know the coupon policy and are abusive to customers. honestly if they don’t know how to deal with people and the public without being verbally abusive they shouldn’t have the job that they do….there’s jobs that don’t involve interacting with the public for a reason….because some people are just too incompetent for them.
Yes, they argured with me over a TIde 1.00 off any and the trial tide..but forgotto take it off my receipt..the people behindme were getting upset. i hate going to walmart unless i just have too. between those carrot coupons and cashierswho don’tknow coupon policies…its awful. I went NewYearsDay and after askign 3 people finally got a walmart employee who could still not show theproduct I needed..total time wasted 25 minutes!!! I swear you could get shin splints from walking around in that store just trying to find some decent help!!!
Yeah they gave me a hard time about that Yes to Carrots q too. They said it looked copied and I told her she could go on Facebook and look it right up. She went off and asked someone. Then she came back and said They are going to look into it, but I can give you one for free, so I said fine I don’t want the other one then. Well when I got home she had left both in the bag and forgot to take one out. lol I was like “Take that Wal-Mart! That’s for all of the times that you gave me a hard time with my coupons!” lol
My walmarts actually good with coupons BUT I’ve found out that cashier profiling is a great tool (young guy, can’t care less lol) I did have a little problem with the yes to carrots coupon bc it wouldn’t scan but they punched it in and it worked 🙂 That’s some good chapstick too btw!
I have had alot of mean cashiers at walmart too. They said I copied coupons and I would never do that! I finally emailed corp. but noone emailed me back so I emailed them again and nothing? I dont know what else I can do? Does anyone have the number to the corp. office? What do they do? If they are anything like the people that work at walmart I dont want to talk to them anyways! It sucks when you try to use coupons and walmart makes you feel dumb and are mean to you!
Vanessa, you can call 1800Walmart and choose the option that gets you to speak to someone regarding a store experience. They’ll take all the info down and call you back. It does help to complain though. I had a cashier totally talk down to me in front of other customers for using my coupons. The store manager ended up calling me back and apologized for her actions and sent me a $25 gift card for my troubles. Now every time I go into that Walmart, everyone seems to be nicer and wiser to us couponers 🙂

I did the Better Homes and Garden magazine thing with the baking soda about two months ago. I have not got a magazine yet. Did anyone else. FYI, I bought a king size bedspread with 2 king shams wedding ring design, Better Homes and Garden at 50%. It was $12.49 (I think). It came with a free year of BHG too. But…since I already submitted, it did have the option to ask for a refund. It said the value of the subscription was $6. If so, I got that bed set for $6.49. So pleased!
I sent away for the BH&G magazine too & I haven’t gotten mine yet either.

I haven’t received my Better Homes and Garden subscription either. Also, went to Walmart today and couldn’t find any ziploc bags in either the Christmas section or the regular section. Bummer. We go through these a lot too. I guess thats what I get for shopping at supposedly the busiest Walmart in the country. : (

On the colgate toothpaste… I saw those in the back toward the garden center the other day in similar boxes. I did not specifically look at the size but I believe it is a 3 oz size not 4 oz. but I could be wrong. The coupon I have from the 1/1 ss says 4.0 or larger. I think the .75 one in the pic says the same but can’t quite see. If this is the case then we could not use these on those colgate.
Yeah my WM had these for back to school time and I remember thinking good deal, but when I went back later in the week with my coupons I realized the sizes didn’t match. I’m pretty sure those are the 3 oz tubes and the coupon is for 4 oz or larger.

Stocking stuffer Eco Tools rang up for .25 yesterday. They had mini shower poofs, nail brushes and foot scrubbers. I had 4 coupons, .75 overage on each one! Cha-ching! Love it! They were back by the garden center in a display on the floor with other stocking stuffers.

It’s pretty sad that I am as a customer have to educate Walmart employees(cashiers and sometimes even managers) about their coupon policies. I’ve started couponing only about 2 months ago and so far Walmart was the worst experience with couponing. Had to call corporate 3 different times on different occasions. I made sure they got back to me. One time they gave me $20 gift card for not taking my Tide coupon. So I pretty much made myself known there as that “coupon lady”. It stresses me out to shop at Walmart and dread that coupon “beep” but I won’t back down and make them respect me and my coupons!!!

Has the Walmart coupon policy changed recently? I bought the KY Jelly for $2.84 and tried to use my $5 Walgreens Manufacturer coupon and they did not allow me to use it. They said they did not accept competitor coupons.
I am pretty sure that the KY q from Wags is a manufacture q, in which case they SHOULD take it.
I double checked their coupon policy online, printed it out and brought it back to store. I was actually able to get cash back! What a hassle though!

I have a question. I bought 3 tubes of Colgate toothpaste at $.94 each. I had three $1.00 coupons. The cashier manually made each coupon $.94 each instead of giving me the $.06 overage. Is this what is normally done?
No… Walmart allows overages on coupons, so you should have been allowed a $.06 overage on each one. Next time you go to Walmart, bring their coupon policy with. That way if they try to adjust the coupons again you can show them the policy. HTH
There are also wet ones in the travel section which ends up being $0.25 for small pack of 15 using the .75/1 coupon
