I wished I liked dealing with Wal-Mart. They have some really good deals but I can’t stand them!

    • Jessie says:

      Agreed!

    • Lindsay says:

Same here. I can not stand the hassle they give when using coupns. I will take my money somewhere else.

      • Missy M says:

Agreed. Not only is this one of the LEAST pleasant places to shop but also one of the most morally reprehensible companies out there. As much as I value a great deal, I value my self respect a bit more. Seeing how our money is our power and our voice in our monetary driven society, I’ll be passing on the big box and keeping my dignity thanks….woops, just realized I found my way onto my soap box :P Anyway, Happy Shopping! :D

    • Sarah says:

Wal-Mart always gives me bull when I price match. I dont need to do it because the store I’m price matching is down the street. I do it just because of their attitude. If they become snappy I go right to their manager. If you push most of the time the managers will step in.

    • Maria Day says:

I feel that way about my local Walgreens here in Texas… Have no problem with Walmart..

  • Mary says:

Went to my local Walmart yesterday and they didn’t have the Cortaid or Benefiber and were all out of the KY and Schick razors. The only thing that I did find was the Sunbird seasoning and for some reason I only got .74 off for the coupon not $1.

    • hawaiiancouponlady@gmail.com says:

You should’ve gotten the FULL $1 off of the seasoning. It states in their coupon policy that they DO honor the FULL value of a coupon and they DO pay for overages. You should go back and dispute it. I know it’s only .26 cents, but hey…money is money.

    • Mb says:

It even says it on the white cards that they wear with they’re badges a cashier showed me

    • megan says:

my walmart didnt have the benefiber or the cortaid(the pharmacist couldnt even find it) and my store the KY was all out also…next time i guess…i got my sunburd but they gave me the full 1.00 of and mine were .74 i would have flipped ship(and yes even over .26 ), but thats me, they dont like when i come up in their line, lol.

  • mizzy says:

I went to Wal-Mart a couple of days ago and they were out of everything that you can possibly get for free. I’d rather go to Walgreens and avoid the hassle.

  • Valerie says:

I hate shopping in Walmarts by me, but I attempted last night. Cortaid and KY were much higher in price and they had no Schick razors. I did get 4 packs of bic pens for free though.

Another bargain was at Stop and Shop. They had the Teddy Grahams Cups for $1, so I had several $3 off 3 coupons. Believe it or not, my college age son loves them and plans to take them back to share with his friends at college! How easy he is to please!!

  • Erin says:

The Walmarts in my area (far north Chicago Suburbs) still have cortaid at $3.27. I’ll keep shopping around. :)

    • MrsNnr says:

At our Walmart the shelf says $3.27 but it rings up for $2.50. I was going to pass on the deal but my husband said to go for it, it’s only .27 but at the register it rang up for less!

  • Sandy says:

I so agree with all of the rest of you. All things that were to be free or better than free then did not carry or were at a higher price. There Christmas was still at 50% off and tape that was near or in the Christmas section did not ring up at 50%. It is just not Target and never will be so I am trying not to get too excited about deals there and move on! Besides they are too far from my home so it is probably best.

  • Aly says:

I enjoy reading about everyone’s experiences. Thank you all for sharing!

  • betty says:

I thought maybe it was just me and the Walmart near me but after reading these posts I guess not. I was able to get 1 Cortaid that had been marked down to 2.50. On the Sunbird they wouldn’t let me use one of my coupons even tho I had 4 packs. This is the WORSE tho, I got a plain tube of the KY a few days ago that was priced 2.97 but only had 1 coupon then. Last night when i went back they had MARKED the same tube up to 4.57. They also won’t take the coupons on the razors that are priced 1.97.

    • April says:

I got the bic pens, ky, and shick razors but she was giving me a hassle about the razors. I told her its 1.97 like just adjust the coupon. She finally “figured out ” what to do and took off $2. They make it do hard. The coupon is $2 off shick razors that’s what I had.

  • Melissa says:

My Walmart never asks questions. In in NY. I always get great deals everyone is so friendly and funny. I think you guys are picking the wrong cashier. I want to go get the Cortaid but we didnt get that coupon up here : (

    • Lynda says:

Hey Melissa…where about in NY? I got mine but I’m in the Albany market.

    • Nicole says:

I didn’t get one in PA either.

    • Korva says:

I agree I have had more hassles at Safeway than Walmart. They take my coupons and never give me any problems

    • Maria Day says:

YEah same here I get more arguements out of the Dollar General then anywhere else.. Well I can’t walk into my local Walgreens without them thinking Im going to raid them because I have a coupon… However I go to Walmart and they really don’t care what coupons I have they honor them.. With that said since I appreciate that so much I try and keep it real and very honest.

  • bre says:

My walmart has nothing as well except fot the red bic pens (which I actually use) and nabisco snacks. I did find KY for 4.27 and I had two $5 off any KY so I was able to use my small overage to cover a few nabisco snacks. I was hoping to get the larger overage and grab some more but they were all out of razors and small KY.

  • angel says:

My walmart did not have signs on the cortaid (and mine is usually really good with putting signs up) BUT it is ringing up at $2.50! So make sure you scan them to see if yours will too! :)

  • Amanda says:

Shame my walmart is higher priced than most UGH:( Hate that too!!!!

  • Nancy says:

I am in NY also and find our Walmart is just like the others above are saying… Not stocked and can be a real hassle to get the deals at all! NOT A FAN of Walmart.

  • Jessica says:

went to THREE walmarts (all within 10 miles, crazy I know) One had bic pens, no razors, benefiber, ky…nothing else. One had nothing. And the last one had 2 KY which I got. 3 robitussin to go, and 3 teddy graham packs. They wouldnt let me get the teddy grahams because it had to be in a box “like on the picture” lol Had to force them to take the KY coupon. The cashier kept covering it up with her hand and acting like it wouldnt scan, then finally told me it wouldnt take it because it was taking off more than the product cost. I told her I know the policy well and to just call her CSM who took it for me. paid .29 but planned to get so much more and it was really disappointing. Especially when they treat me like a criminal. For Pete’s sake I only had a few items not a cart load! OH and ALL 3 of my walmarts i checked the cortaid.. and the cheapest tube they had was $4.27 here in metro ATL.

    • cdawnt says:

Jessica, Please tell me where in WM you have found the Robitussin To Go? I have searched on 3 different trips up and down every single medicine aisle, the travel size section, and I’ve looked in at least a dozen of the checkouts and can’t find any.

    • Maria Day says:

Yeah I feel your pain… Walgreens does that to me all the time… I finally got fed up and decided to drive 30 miles out to a good Walgreens… I don’t know what it is about some people/sales clerks and coupons but you would think we are asking them for a free 1,000 loan.. Crazy…

  • lo says:

i don’t know why people say they don’t like to deal with walmart, get real. i always get my valued coupon and the price it says i don’t care if it’ll take a few minutes of my day to save a few bucks. and can’t really beat walmart’s price. you just need to be assertive while still being respectful and you’ll get your way, it’s not the cashier’s fault when the computer acts up.

    • April says:

      I do not agree

    • Jennifer says:

I also don’t agree with Lo…I used to be a cashier at Walmart during my high school years and I was taught and expected to know the coupon policy forwards and backwards so that when the register beeped I was able to confirm that the coupon is valid for what’s being purchased and manually push it through. I don’t know if WalMart just doesn’t teach the coupon policy to the cashiers like they did when I was employed there ….but there are times you can “argue” with a cashier about your coupons and they will not budge. SO aggravating when you know you are following the policy and your coupons are valid. Even worse, when you ask for a customer service manager (CSM) and they don’t know the policy either….

    • Kristy says:

I do agree either. It is a hassle at my Wal-Mart. One time I asked if they even took coupons ( I just started couponing and I didn’t know. ) the cashier actually told me NO. So after I found out correctly, I went to get some travel size tide ( my coupon did NOT state excludes travel size) the cashier refused to take it because my coupon was more then the value. So I dont even bother trying with the new coupon policy. My store is rude in every dept.

    • Maria Day says:

Depends who you are talking too and who is behind the register… I have brought my policies with me and sat down and had a good healthy provisional talk with the Managers and they acted like I was requesting a free loan. Im a pre law student and believe me Im as conservative and unbaised until they prove me otherwise… So not every stores register is broken and not everyone is always having a good day…Bottom line we vent here wether good or bad and we also share on this site, and Im glad you have an excellent Walmart that not be the case for every single store out there.. I always wanted the sky to be pink, however it is blue such is the case.. Everybody is making there point… I rest my case…

  • Leza Cravens says:

I’m confused about the wording on the Cortaid coupon. It seems like it is contradicting itself. Maybe someone can shed some light on it for me? The coupon says, “Limit one coupon per person. No more than 4 coupons (of any kind) for the same product in the same transaction.” If it is only one per person, how can it be limited to 4 in one transaction?

  • Krista says:

My Wal Greens has the Cortaid for $3.99 on a B1G1 50% – so I used 2 of my $3/1 coupons and got them for free.
I LOVE this site, but have learned that living in the Chicago suburbs generally means that our prices are a little higher on some items then say, Kansas (where I am from originally).

  • Ashley says:

oh wow! all your walmart visits are scaring me! lol My walmart is always great with coupons but every now and then their is an issue but keep your head up! You’re not doing anything wrong :D

    • Debbie says:

Nobody on this site should EVER feel “afraid” to use coupons in ANY store.
YOU are the customer, after all and it is YOU the cashier can thank in large part for a payck. :)

    • Shanna says:

I have on WM that gives me issues, but the other does not, do I go to them now. I am a bit scared to go now after hearing some of the stories!

      • Maria Day says:

You know it depends alot on who is behind the register….. I know that for a fact… Most unfortunately in my Walgreens it is always the same 3 individuals and I really don’t know who is worse… But in part I blame the Managers because they act and talk so oppressively. Walmart is a huge chain and you should have no problem finding a good cashier person in that store… If it doesn’t work out come back another day and ask the Manager to assist the cashier while they scan your coupons because they gave you issues on previous occcasions.

    • Em says:

I agree with u. I am glad that my Walmart is still coupon friendly. However, they are often out of stock for freebies. Guess there are many couponer in my area!

  • Emilee says:

My Walmart has a few bad eggs that work there and cringe when I walk in with my book lol bless their hearts. But I just read walmarts coupon policy and realized that it states Walmart does do coupon overage! I am so excited because I was told many times by those bad eggs that I wouldn’t get overage! Woohoo I’m going couponing Saturday & I can’t wait to officially get my overage!!!:)

  • Mary says:

I work @ Walmart. All of our Christmas went 90% yesterday at my store it was unadvertised so we had to price override everything.I’m happy to see people come with coupons in to my store cause some deals I didn’t know about I can get in on too..I have in same excitement they do at the register.I know not all stores are that way.

  • angelahoang12 says:

Yesterday I went to the most expensive Walmart ever in San Jose,Ca. Everything was prices at least $1 more than the usual Walmart I go to. Even the produce.

  • Ana says:

Just came back from Walmart. No razors (mine never seem to have it) , KY, Cortaid, & no Bic pens! I did find Suave deodorant, Bic Wite Out, Kids Colgate. I also did find Carmex for $0.98 and use $0.30 off. Don’t forget the Cookies-Mini Chips Ahoy, Teddy Grahams, & Mini Oreo.

  • elena says:

My Walmart in North Myrtle Beach,SC is anticoupon too….treated like i’m stealing stuff….coupons were made to use them …hello…. anyways getting sick with mean cashiers. Why do they care if i use coupons? Like i’m taking their stuff.

    • Lisa W says:

Yeah my Walmart too in Weymouth, MA. Just came from there. I mean, it doesn’t come out of their paycheck if I use a coupon, the store actually gets reimbursed!

  • molly says:

Just came back from my walmart too – out of KY, had benefiber sticks or display :) , out of cortaid, bic pens, but I did find lots of the rest. And I bought the square box of Oreos, and Chips ahoy cookies- 6 oz. size for $1 – Much better deal than the mini ones by the registar imo. I bought 15 boxes, my cashier thought that was alot, but $3/3 made the free. Look for the boxes of cookis down the cookis isle if you want more for your $$$.

    • Maria Day says:

Do you all ever go in the early am when Walmart re-stocks everything…I have gone to Walmart by the end of the evening and even night time about 7:00 pm… I cant find a darn thing… However I go at 700 am everything is restocked.. Ask your local Walmart when they will be restocking again… As a matter of fact I always asked that of every store I go if I cant find the good sales/plus coupons I want to use… 99% of the time they will let you know when they are re-stocking again…

  • Debbie says:

The Teddy Grahams $1. cups are also at Target fyi.

  • cdawnt says:

I went to a WM in another town a couple of months ago, I was so humiliated. The cashier made me go through my bags and pull out and show him every single item I had a coupon for before he would even try and scan it. I had about 10 coupons so it took a while and then the CSM came over and was looking over his shoulder telling him he can’t take this or that even after I pulled it out of the bag for him! I will never shop in that one ever again.

  • Jose says:

You can only use 1 coupon per person and per transaction. The additional wording is talking about “stacking” no more than 4 coupons per same product/transaction. All the J&J coupons in the SS 1/8 have specific limits. High fraud usage has caused these addtional wording measures to be added to these coupons. If you are using more than 1 per person/transaction your are commiting coupon fraud.

    • Maria Day says:

Hmmm I think she was just being honest… I dont see why anyone would use three of the same kind of coupons in one transaction… I went to HEB and I had a coupon that I printed and the bar code is since changed well HEB was not aware of that change… So they pulled me to the side unbenounced to me they were in the office checking to see if my coupon was fraud and they were going to call the police….. I had no earthly idea except I always make sure to not cut the wording on the exterior of the coupons.. So he googled it and found it the site and the Manager printed one out to see how it would come out printed… Exactly like mine…When he came out of his office he din’t apologize he just took my coupon and explained to me about how people have been putting them through straines with fraudaluant coupons… I didn’t even know that was possible. I felt bad and since then I have not gone to that HEB as much… Sometimes it isn’t the customer per say but just the way the Managers and cashiers handles the situation.

  • toni says:

i am so glad to hear all this as i thought it was just here in jacksonville nc. I have yet to find anything at walmart that i see in these pictures. I like walgreens better and you get 15%off on tues.

  • nickyB says:

Went to both of my WM yesterday(Richland County,Ohio). No pens, Benefiber, Cortaid,KY, or Razors. I did get the sunbird packets for $.88 each & they only had 1 Bic correction fluid for $1.00. The cashier argued that I couldn’t use the Bic coupon because it wasn’t for pens, but then took it when I pointed out that it was for any staionary item. I got my cortaid at walgreens w/no problem. I got 2 more correction fluid at Target for $.17 each. No problem there either although my Target is usually NOT coupon friendly. I usually have to pull out every item from the bag.

  • Mary says:

I went to 2 Walmarts tonight. At the first I was able to find the Cortaid. They were out of the Shick razors and the KY. The second Walmart was wiped out of the Cortaid, KY, and the Schick razors. Hopefully they will get restocks of the KY before the coupons expire.

  • Sarah says:

YAY!!! I got the $3 Cortaid coupon!!! All of these overage coupons are amazing since we don’t have alot of money left in our budget for food until my hubby gets paid again next week. Thanks so much Collin!!

  • Jen says:

What is the Teddy graham coupon? Where can I find it?! Thanks :)

  • Bridgett says:

I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and they were totally out of the Schick razors (no surprise there) and the Cortaid Cream was marked down to $4.00 and not $2.50 :( Someone even left their coupons for it on the shelf…so I didn’t get that one either…bummer!

  • Mary says:

My Walmart prices are much higher than what some of you are finding so I don’t get very many of the good deals with overage. I’m happy for you that get them!

  • MrsNnr says:

Went to WM this afternoon. I got 8 packs of Bic pens, 4 Cortaid creams, and 1 KY. I also picked up a loaf of bread which ended up free with the overage. After everything Walmart paid me .15!

I tried to get the Teddy Graham deal but they refused to let me use the coupons for the cups. They kept saying the picture shows boxes. I started with the “There are no restrictions on the coupon, it doesn’t go by picture only.” They wouldn’t budge. I would have fought but I forgot my policy print out at home. Oh well. Still happy they paid me to leave the store with my stuff! They were also out of the razors.

After leaving there we went to the smaller Walmart down the street (neighborhood market) and got 4 more Cortaid, and the cookies! Yep that’s right, they took my coupons with no problem. No razors or KY there either.

Also, at Target they have the cups for $1 and I got a few from them as well, Mac n Cheese for free, and the toothpaste.
