This is awesome! I need to get my son a new pair of glasses….I lost on pair and he’s down to just one. Super happy about this deal!!
I just ordered myself a new pair! $6.95 for classes, I can handle that!
I got my new glasses from there and I am very pleased. They may not fit quite as nicely as if I had gotten them fitted at the doc, but the prescription is fine and the glasses are great. I got Vera Wangs, and they are very attractive. They came within a week right to my front door! I would highly recommend this deal!
Think my eye doctor would give me my prescription over the phone? I just went in September & got new glasses, but they never told me what my ‘script was…
It shouldn’t be a problem. My mom is emailing her optometrist to get her prescription :0 )
They should; I just called my dr and got mine and my daughter’s!
They should. I called my doc before and they gave it to me.
If you have a prescription of +/- 2 or more, these still will run $30 plus shipping – even with the free frames and discounted lenses.
My prescription is -6.50. I was able to get mine for $6.95. I chose the most basic lenses.
Right, we could order the free included lens, but they would be way too heavy for me personally for everyday wear. I wear my glasses nearly exclusively, but this is just my comfort level….also, I am not fond of wearing thick lens, for cosmetic reasons! 😉
Vote for Collin as the top couponing Mom. She certainly deserves it.

YAY JUST GOT A PAIR, GREAT EARLY BDAY GIFT TO ME 🙂
THANX
Strange question – Can I get my prescription for glasses off of my contacts box?
I would think glasses and contacts would be different prescriptions since contacts sit right on you eyes and glasses don’t. You might want to check with your doctor.
They are different prescriptions, I know because I use both and the Dr. always gives me two prescriptions one for contacts the other for glasses.
I have to say that I just ordered a pair of glasses for my daughter who needed a new pair due to a changed eye RX. We paid $5 OOP and that included scratch coating, anti-glare, etc. on the lenses. The glasses were here in a week. We are SO PLEASED with the quality of the glasses. We went with the standard “thick” lenses as opposed to paying for the thinner, lighter upgraded lenses, and let me just say the standard lenses are just as thin as her “featherlight” lenses in her previous glasses! We will be ordering new glasses for everyone in our family from Coastal. I also love the fact that you can upload a picture of yourself to the site and when you browse through the different frames, it shows them on your face so you know what they would look like on you.
Thank you for this review! I got a cheap pair from Zenni optical last year and didn’t opt for anti-glare, which I’m now regretting. (The glasses are overall fine otherwise, but just a pain when I’m driving at night!) I think I’ll give this a go.
Do you happen to know the prescription for her glasses? Is it -2.0 or greater? I am so worried if I don’t go thin, I will be unhappy. Thank you!
Rebecca, please tell me what is OOP? Is this an option you can add? $5 sounds better than $15 package for anti glare and scratch I find. Thanks!
OOP means “out of pocket”. Hope this helps!
OOP is Out Of Pocket, or the total amount she paid for the glasses.
Thanks! Awesome deal. I just got a $98 pair of glasses for $6.95! Great deal for backup glasses! Thanks Collin!
I got cute reading glasses for $6.95! Thanks Collin!!!
I have been an optician (I sell glasses for a living) for 8 years, I would say if you have a slight Rx this is a great deal or if you know what you are doing but if you don’t you may order the wrong Rx or size. This site does not verify with your doctor’s office either. This is what a brick and mortor place brings to the table that an online site can’t. BUT…We are also looking to broaden our market and offer online shopping too. Do you actually like buying your glasses online because of the convience and options, or is it just the deal/price you like about these sites? Thank you for your feedback, any comments are appreciated.
I like online glasses for three reasons:
1.) These free coupon codes and sales and deals (and cash back from Shop At Home – you CAN get cash back on this!) make the glasses extremely affordable, much more affordable than if I were to get them from an eyeglass store. The last time I purchased glasses in a store, I did it during Sears’s 2 for $99 deal. The glasses I got were extremely cheap and scratched immediately. They also did not seem to fit very well. The glasses I got from coastal were wonderful and fit just perfectly; plus, I had a very large selection to choose from, whereas with other glasses I don’t seem to have as much selection. So, #1 is “price.”
2.) It really is more convenient to get them online, because I don’t have to worry about going in to order them and waiting around. My prescription hasn’t changed (or if it has, the glasses I have currently are just perfect so I don’t see a difference) and as long as I use those same numbers, there’s no reason to physically go to the store to order the glasses.
3.) I don’t feel pressure from a sales associate to try to sell me more expensive glasses. I can pick out the glasses I like (and even try them on, see how they will look, on a virtual model with my face!) without the pressure of someone saying “Oh, but these more expensive glasses are better.”
Hope that helps 🙂
I got a pair for $18 about a year ago. I like the glasses because their lenses were 10x the quality of the glasses from my Dr. office. The lenses at coastal are clearer and stronger. And they look great on. With the tools they tell youu how to measure your own face. It is so easy! And about 10% of the cost. I have ordered more from them without deals because they are such better quality. Cheaper for a whole pair there than just the lenses at the dr. office.
I’ve gotten 3 pairs of glasses from Coastal. They are *GREAT* glasses! My absolute favorite ones. Two of the pairs are spares, in the same design as the pair I currently wear. Stylish, attractive, inexpensive, and darn near indestructable (I’ve got an infant who’s fascinated with glasses and a toddler who thinks she has to grab them every time I take them off!).
They do good glasses, and for just shipping…take advantage when you can!
I don’t think you’ll get a stupendous deal if you have a really high prescription like me. Mine is -7.5/-8.25 and the least expensive lenses the site will allow me are Super Thin Highest Quality Lens (1.67 Index) for $99, which brings the glasses that I like to $167; the deal for free specs is “1.5 index lenses included for free”. I didn’t both going through the process to check out because I won’t pay that much for glasses. Curse my awful vision! Oh well, too bad for me. I hope a lot of you are able to score this deal!
Yeah. I was trying to find some for my husband and the only lenses available were +$99. Darn it!!!
go through ebates to get %5 cashback!!
is there an option to make sun glasses?
there is but they wont be free. they will upcharge for the shaded lenses.
Just FYI. Tried to order Progressives and they are about $100 with this deal. Getting old is expensive!!!!!!!!!
How on earth can an online ordering glasses website measure correctly for a progressive lens? Good luck.
They can’t you have to measure them on your face otherwise its just a guess.
Awesome! I really have been wanting a new pair of glasses and you can’t beat paying just $6.95 for shipping! I am really excited! Thanks!
hmm…I got this deal a month ago and paid 13.95 for cheaters..I really like them, but 6.95 would have been better! hmmm..wonder why I paid more?
I’ve ordered two pair for my s.o. One pair of Guess and one pair of Lacoste. They look wonderful, work well, and the best part? With all the additional things, they were $32 shipped each. He’s been wearing them for about a year now. My opinion? They are just as nice as the $500 gucci ones he was wearing until the frame broke. Seriously, he spent $500 on glasses only to have them break. His $32 glasses have held up really well.
I am wondering if this deal is still working?? I went on the web site and it seems to be down!!
Never mind!! Its working now and I just ordered my pair!! Thanks so much I really needed new glasses!!!!!
hello ~ has this deal expired?
