While we are waiting for our free razor, I have a different question for you. I am new to couponing, and looking for ways to organize my coupons when I shop. I know Collin uses a HUGE binder, but I am not ready to carry that kind of luggage with me! Does anyone have a smaller expandable coupon organizer that will fit in their purse that they like? I’m new too and have the same issue. Put them in small folders for several main categories, but the problem is having to look through a stack of coupons trying to find one. I’ve seen (somewhere) people who use those clear sleeves so they can see and flip through pages, but wonder if that’s hard to maintain. Good question A, I hope we get some tips!
I started off with one like this from target, got it for $1 but there isnt enough space for alot of categories and harder to go through if you find a good deal for something and cant find the coupons! I got a binder from PBteen for about $7 free shipping but im looking to get larger card holders(the ones i have are kinda small from printables etc. Maintaining is kinda hard for me, Im thinking about not clipping and keeping the inserts intact so i can easily find them since they are referenced on matchups. I hope this helps a little bit.
Thank you Anna- so I take it you use clear holders (or whatever they are called) so you can see a whole page of coupons at one time? That seems like what I saw that I was so impressed with. I also think I will start keeping those coupons out of the paper intact and just filing those by date, since that’s what appears to be referred to most to locate a coupon. And then filing like you suggest the ones that I print. I appreciate the tip!
I also see that someone has used a smaller photo album (one with pages that hold two photos per side) to hold their coupons. I wonder how this would work. Anne, do you have a link for the PBteen binder you have been using?
I have been using one of these since I started couponing. I like it because I can fit it in my purse, but with only 200 slots, it doesn’t have enough room for all my coupons. I end up shoving some behind others and not being able to find them. The pages also tend rip because the plastic that’s meant to hold the photos is thin. It’s a good idea if you are not going to cut out ALL the coupons you come across. If you keep every coupon you cut, I doubt it will be big enough. I’m upgrading to a big binder because it will be way more organized.
I use a binder that zips all the way around with clear pages with pockets. I really like it until it’s time to go shopping! I can’t carry it in the stores because it’s so big, I just know it would cause people to stare and what if I ran into someone I know, which 99.9% of the time I do, how embarrassing to have a huge binder full of coupons. It makes me so mad to see something on clearance and KNOW that I’ve got a coupon for that, but I don’t have it with me. Last time I went shopping I pulled out like the “Breakfast” clear page and rolled it up and put it in my purse. I also carry a plain envelope and when I pick up the item in the store I immediately pull the coupon from my stack and slip it in the envelope so that I’m ready to hand them over when I get to the register. I usually have a stack and many of the items they won’t even have or I found out the item is too expensive even with the coupon. I use to leave the inserts in tact, but found I never knew what I had so I didn’t use as many. I can’t figure out an easy way to do this.
Good point C on the inserts . I don’t know which way to go just yet, but I guess I will get better with time. Made some rookie mistakes thus far, so learning as I go. I think I’m going to try the binder with clear pages and to heck with how it looks! I’m on a mission to save money this year! I appreciate your reply!
You should never be embarrased that you save money. who cares who you run into. I went with the big binder cause i can put all my coupons in there. I hate getting to the store, finding a great deal and being completely bummed cause I forgot my coupon at home. I see people at the store with binders filled with coupons all the time.
I know what you mean, I shouldn’t be embarrassed. It’s just that I sell real estate and people come up and the first thing they ask is how my real estate business is going. I usually say it’s fine, just slow this time of year, I don’t lie. If they see a huge binder of clipped, organized coupons they will think I haven’t been working plus it looks like I must be short on cash, which is not the case. If I won the lottery I would still watch every penny and save all I can. I shouldn’t care what people think, but I do because of the (self-employed) business I’m in and I need their business when the time comes.
C- taking some of you pages in with you sounds like it has some potential! I don’t want to carry the huge binder, but I also hate having a coupon I could use at home. I try to figure out what I am shopping for based on the deals online, then I have a smaller binder and I sort my coupons by store and keep them with that stores list. It works okay, but like C said, I end up with a bunch of coupons in my hand, and it gets a little crazy when I don’t use some of the coupons, or need something I didn’t put in the binder. I have my main coupons that I have cut, filed in a box . I put it in the trunk last night when I was shopping, but there was no way I was running out in 9 degree weather to get a coupon! I just “discovered” this Hip2Save site a month ago now, and already my hubby and I are amazed at how much money we have saved!
I am also a newbie. And I have 2 “legal style” plastic folder organizers with 6 – 7 categories each. I have made my own categories which are pretty big (home, body, oral + hair, cosmetics, beverages, pet, health, vitamins and supplements, Food dried and canned, food frozen, food everything else). I find that these categories work out great for me but the food needs a better organization as I am always looking through too many coupons.
This method works well for me when it comes to printed coupons and mailers. I keep the inserts intact and take a bunch of them with me and whenever I am at the store and see smth on clearance I pull out my iPhone and search the coupon database to see if and where a coupon for that item might be.
Mostly I go to the store with a match-up already made (from websites) and coupons pulled out into manila folders (the pocket style). I have one for each store Shaws, Rite Aid, CVS, Target, Walmart etc. If I am going to Rite aid, I also take the CVS and other drugstore folder as they overlap. This is great because I am not pulling out a huge binder at the store (which makes me a bit embarrassed since I live in a pretty rich area), just a simple manila folder. I don’t think I’ll ever get as great as Collin and others but on the other hand I’ve still been getting so many great deals that I don’t think it matters too much!

I’m guessing I got through. I couldn’t hang on FB after 3 b/c I had to get the kids from school and run a few errands. When I came back home, I tried the schick form I already had up, it came up server error, so I gave up. Just got back online. I tried the link that was posted on the Schick wall and it says “Email already registered”. So I signed up my sister, and it immediately takes me to a Thank You page. How odd. Either we both are getting one or just her :/

I had finally got through before they removed the sample link, and received the “thank you…”, but haven’t received an email. But I’m seeing on the facebook page that people that submitted the form via the links being placed on the page – that some received emails.
I’m wondering if those links are really Schick or a hidden redirect (aka spam or phishing)? When I opened one of those links in Chrome, it gave me a warning that it wasn’t HTTPS (meaning it’s not secure).

I submitted it one minute before the link was pulled from the website (so maybe it didn’t go through properly) but I did get the screen that said you’ll get your sample in 3 weeks. I have not received a confirmation e-mail. HTH

I signed up through one of the direct links that someone posted. I was skeptical but I did it anyway. I got an email this morning saying my sample is on its way. YAY!!
