I cannot get it to take the code DATE – I am trying to purchase the 25 for 15 – am I doing something wrong???

    • Sarah

Make sure it doesn’t say “promo codes do not apply,” I saw a few of those. It worked for me, but it only went to $3, not $2. Not complaining though.

    • Becky

Some restaurants do not accept promo codes. It will say in red below the restaurant description.

I have never heard of most of the restaurants offered in my area… 🙁 they look like dives

    • Kristi

Same with my area! Also it is misleading/false advertising for them to call these gift certificates. Essentially they are buy one, get one free style coupons. You have to spend $50 to use a $25 certificate! Booo……

  3. Susan Ransom

It looks like the math is incorrect. 80% off $25 would leave you paying $5. 80% off $10 would leave you paying $2.

Please note that the regular price of a $25 gift certificate on Restaurant.com is $10. So after the 80% off code, you will only pay $2. Hope this helps! 😀

I paid $3 for a $25 gift certificate and $1 for a $10 gift certificate so I think they are all different. Just put it in your cart and apply the code and see what it comes out to.

Yes and those gift certificates are great but remember that there is a catch “read the fine print,” For example I purchased a 25.00 gift certificate for Palmers restaruant but I have to spend 35.00 in order to use the 25.00 certificate. IT is still not a bad deal because it helps you save for those planned outings. However , just wanted to be informative Because there is a catch. There is still a good savings though.

I always go through shopathome.com but it never gives me the cash back discount? Don’t know what I am doing wrong. It is saying $2 instead of 1.50?

    • Yoko

ShopAtHome is a cash back site which is same as rebate that you will get it later (after you earn more than $20, they will send you a check). You have to pay full amount first, then cash back amount will be deposited into your ShopAtHOme account later.

I decided to give it a try. I purchased 2-$25 certificates for only $5.00 (different restaurants). My fine print read that I needed to spend $35.00 to use the $25 certificate, and 18% gratuity would be added before the discount. Couldn’t beat $5 for $50 in certificates. I hope all goes well when I attempt to use them. I’m interested in knowing what’s been your experience when using the certificate?

I used mine fine today. They didnt add the tip so I left it on the table.

I quit going to restaurants.com because they never offered any restaurants in my area but checked and they have added a bunch more. I got a mexican restaurant one that I have been to and it is quality food. It’s always busy so I don’t know why they were listed. I had to spend $35 to use the $25 gift certificate. I ended up paying $12.61 for 3 dinner items. 1 shrimp fajitas, and 2 chicken fundido and a order of cheese sauce and 2 drinks and my total was like 35.21 before tax. just the right amount I was afraid I might have figured it up right. I had to pay $3 for the certificate but it was well worth it.

Every time I buy one of these and try to use it the restaurants in my area say they’re no longer participating and refuse to take them. Last time the restaurant told us “Our food is cheap enough already. We were losing money accepting those from people.”

From what I’ve been told it’s part of the agreement that restaurants still are supposed to accept certificates from people even after they stop participating. There isn’t anything to stop restaurants from refusing certificates though, and that’s what some choose to do.

Restaurant.com has EXCELLENT customer service but I find I get more refunds from them than I actually use certificates. I have almost $100 worth of credit in my account right now. I also have a couple certificates and I’m nearly certain I’ll be getting refunds on those too since no restaurant seems to stay with restaurant.com very long. I’ll probably wait to buy certificates till the day I plan to use them from now on since I’ve had so many problems.

if they refuse to take them contact Restaurant.com and let them know. I had this issue and they are under a legally binding contract they have to accept them. after i contacted restaurant.com they “investigated”- I don’t know what they did, but I never had an issue again.

Hi. I have never used Restaurant.com. I read the previous post that outlines how to use the site. It says the certificates expire after 1 year of purchase date. I read the Terms of Service from the link provided and it says they don’t expire. I want to make sure about this because I never know when I will have time to use the certificates. Anyone?

  10. Alexcia

This is my first attempt and new to this process. i’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong but when I select the restaurant and apply the code the total shows $4.00? Does the price vary by participating restaurant? I have no clue as to how this works. Any help out there would be greatly appreciated.

  11. Elana

prices do vary a little by restaurant, not all restaurants allow the use of the coupon code on line and the gift certs can NOT be used on holidays. however they are awesome. Just make sure you show the waitress/waiter the cert before you order anything.
