  • I think it is very important to note that Heart Disease kills more women that ALL CANCERS COMBINED!

  • Nina Borgia says:

This is great as I am currently working on changing my eating habits and making a real lifestyle change, not just going on a diet which I never stick to. I want to be around for a long time for my 2 boys, and this will help me do that!

    Collin,
I think this is great. I ordered my red pin last year and I wear it all year long in memory of my Mom. I think more woman need to be aware of the warning signs. I lost my mom on March 5th, 2007 to heart disease (I was 6 months pregnant with my 5th child). She had gone to the doctors three times during the week because she didn’t feel good and the doctor told her she was fine that it was just an anxiety attack. Did you know that anxiety attacks and heart attacks in woman have the same symptoms? I didn’t until I lost my mom. My mom had had three small heart attacks during the week and then the massive one on saturday night that killed her. What I am saying ladies is if you don’t feel good and the doctor says that it is anxiety insist on an EKG, it could save your life.

I’m sorry for your loss Beth. My mom had a heart attack January 2010, she just thought she couldn’t catch her breath since it was so cold. She had a scan that same week and the results weren’t reviewed right then, it would have revealed her blockages and heart failure. My mom is still with us, she had a quintuple bypass.

Beth, I am soooo sorry to hear about your mom. My mom died 12/3/03. She must have had the same doctor’s as your mom. I miss her every day.

  • Sue Bee says:

Thank you, Beth. I lost my dad on 1/16/06.
