I don’t know if all the Restaurant.com gift certificates work this way but I received two as a gift & you had to spend $50.00 to get the $25.00 off. I ended up giving the other one away to a friend. If you will spend that much it would be worth it but unfortunately it wasn’t for me.

I agree…often I don’t feel like the gift certificate from Restaurant.com is worth it because you have to spend a minimum of $35, then they add the tip on top of it.

Also, you need to call the restaurant to see if they will honor it. There are a lot of them that won’t. It was on our local news several months ago. I will NEVER purchase anything from Restaurant.com!

Yup tried it once and felt it was not worth the trouble because it is limited to when you can go and use it to eat and it usually a discount of 25.00 only after you have purchased 35.00 or more???? Then when you present this coupon like in my case, it can’t go towards a Specail of the day or anything like that.. IT has to be a meal that is the full price..

the only reason why wait staff adds the tip on is because allot of the time people dont pay attention i dont want to say are being cheap, and tip on the bill after all the discounts, and threw dec, jan to march its tough everyone has gift card, and the staff still works just as hard as they would anyone else and loose alot of money them selves they are not being rude they only get paid 2.89 an hour, so think of that your saving on your meal thats great so tip the staff accurately, 20 percent, not 10, some people would save 50.00 bucks now a 100.00 check that the tip should be 20 bucks is now a 50 dollar check and people leave 5 dollars, it happens all the time think of that next time, again not being rude i just feel that this needs to be brought to some people attention

I must be doing something wrong… it repeatedly said “Not eligible for Promo Codes ‑ No discount applied.” so I didn’t purchase. 🙁

I bought a few from restaurant.com for around $2 a piece. They were $25 off of $35 purchase plus 18% tip. We went to the restaurant and it was the WORST service I have ever experenced in a resaturant and the food was AWEFUL (I am not a picky person). They were nice and gave us a discount but then that put us under our $35. We had to talk them into removing the discount so we could use the coupon. Anyways we were lucky and they did not add the 18%. They seriously could not even get that right. We paid $10 for our 2.5 hour lunch that was practically unedible and high tailed it out of there. Not all the restaurants listed are bad but the ones in my area that offer the best deals on the site are not worth going to.

I’ve not once had a problem using restaurant.com – in fact, every restaurant we’ve frequented with a gift certificate has been super-accommodating! We’ve had a chance to splurge on meals we wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise. In fact, tonight’s dinner will be at a 4-star spot in Chicago. SO excited!

I don’t have a problem using it.. IT is the fact that I have to spend more just to achieve a discount. Especially in my area.. For example I purchased one for Palmers Rest. in my area.. Very expensive rest. My coupon can only be used for Dinner. Well guess what their dinner is very expensive $30.00 a plate :)) or MORE!!! IF say I wanted the special of the day to save money then I can use the darn coupon because it specifically states 35.00 0r more on ONE dish!!! Can’t be combined with another dish.. I can’t use it in combination with any SALE-discount they are having.. IF me and my husband go out to eat that is an easy 100.00 my 35.00 will only do a dent :(!!! MIght as well not use the darn coupon get their special and both of us eat for 35.00!!! ..

Does the discount only apply to the $25 certificates, or will it also work with the $50 ones? We have some pretty expensive restaurants here in Vegas. Thanks in advance.

I think restaurant.com can be hit or miss. I bought one for a pizza joint that was horrible. There was no wait staff (I literally went to the counter to order) and I still have to pay 18% tip (for NO service)! I bought 2 certs for that pizza place and threw the other one away…it just wasn’t worth it. I do have other certs for nicer restaurants that I want to try.

In regards to the establishment not honoring it…just present it before you order…if they don’t/won’t accept it then leave and contact restaurant .com
