Yeah! This offer is available again for new to Julep members…snag an introductory box for just a penny!

If you’re a fan of Birchbox or would like to spoil yourself this month (and for many months to come?!), then you may want to check out Julep Maven. As a Julep Maven, you’ll have access to the hottest trends in nail color and the latest Mani Care and Pedi Care products – delivered right to your doorstep.

Here’s how it works…

* Head over here and take the Julep Maven Style Quiz (this should just take a few minutes). This quiz enables Julep Maven to determine which style of magazine editor you most resemble and in turn, Julep will choose the Sneak Peek Box that contains personally selected products that best compliment your look.

* Every Sneak Peek Box will feature over $40 worth of NEW, never released, trendy polish colors and cutting edge treatments. Your box will also include hits and cult favorites. However, January’s box will contain $40+ worth of products. And here’s the best part, enter the promo code COLOR2012 during checkout and you’ll snag this intro box for just $0.01 shipped! Please note that this offer is limited to first first time Mavens only.

* Keep in mind that by signing up for February’s box, you are signing up to receive boxes on a monthly basis from Julep Maven (after this first month’s box is sent for just $0.01, your monthly cost will be $19.99 for $40 worth of products). You will be notified by email on the 20th of the month with a preview of the products they’ve customized for your next month’s beauty editor Box. If you are not interested in receiving that month’s box, you can opt to either skip the month (just login to ‘My Account’ by midnight PST on the 25th of the month and select “Skip the Month”) or you can choose to send your beauty editor Sneak Peek Box as a gift to a girlfriend, sister, coworker, or anyone you would like (just login to ‘My Account’ by midnight PST on the 25th of the month and select “Send My Box to a Girlfriend”).

* Julep Maven will bill your credit card on the 27th of the month and your Sneak Peek Box will be shipped that same day. You’ll need to allow 7-10 days for your box to arrive.

* If, for whatever reason, you do not want to continue to be a Julep Maven, you can cancel your membership, free of charge by calling one of the Maven Experience agents at 877.651.3292 Monday – Friday 9am-5pm PST.

The only shipping option I had was for $36 and I HAD to choose it. So I didn’t get it, of course!

I just want to tell you all that I went here because of Mrs. Collin and not a fan of nail polish at all.. Because I have no patience for waiting for it to dry not at home or in a spa.. But this Julep not only are the colors beautiful and modern but Im not even through with my first set of hand nails and they are already dry.. Plus I get alot of compliments on it… It does chip quickly but I learned to conquer that with a quick dry set of clear cover..

      • md

Sorry I meant to say because Mrs. Collin posted the site; although Im not a big fan of nail polish; This came out to be a great investment.. Also I just did it for the second time and scored a good deal for 1 cent..

        • Donna Mc.

I tried no top coat… chipped. Sally Hansen Quick Dry top coat … chipped. Nailtinini Dry Gin … chipped. Nothing works. This polish chips BADLY. For those who spend a lot of time doing their nails, this is a real PITA and wastes tons of your time to keep redoing your nails every single day, and not even have nails that look good for all the work. For 1 cents, yeah, it is cheap, but is it worth the loss of your time and the aggravation? I don’t even want to give these polish away to anyone, as they are that bad. I threw them out.

          • md

Haven’t had that problem but I guess it depends on the oils in your body and the amount of usage out of your hands.. I use a top coat by Mary Kay… Once in a while it does chip not all the time but then even when I do them at salon by the end of the week I have one or two nails that have chipped.. I think it is a matter of preference and what you do with your hands..

only shipping option was 36.00 so I didn’t sign up .

Can you get the 1 cent box and then cancel before getting any others if you choose?

    • loni

I think so…. it says on the 25th of the month.

    • jacksgurl28

yes u can as long as u cancel before the 25th

      • jacksgurl28

If you wish to cancel, you must do so by 11:59pm on the 24th to avoid being charged on the 27th.
this is from the julep site

    • md

  4. cynthiarayne8747

I just got mine. I ended up being “Boho Glam”. Any idea what is in the February box? 🙂

    • Dani

I’ve been a Julep Maven for a while & LOVE IT. The Boho Glam February box has a beautiful dark blue color (Marisa) & a fun gold glitter polish (Oscar) to commemorate the Oscars. It also comes with their amazing roll on cuticle oil (which is priceless in my opinion!) Enjoy it. I love Julep. It’s the best subscription service out there right now.

    • md

Basically what you see is what you get so it will tell you the set you are getting!!!

  7. DeAnna

    found it, duh

  8. Tracy

    got mine! Thank you!!!!

  9. lindsey

I would say don’t do this. I signed up in late December for the 1 cent box and they never sent me an email in January to tell me they were shipping my next box. I didn’t have a chance to cancel and I was charged $20 for polish I don’t want or need. I tried to log into my account and I wasn’t able to so I thought they wouldn’t be able to charge me – wrong! What a headache. I hate companies where you can’t cancel online.

    • Suszy

I was similarly unhappy with their site. I purchased the great deal and the next month and -all of the polishes peel within a day for me. I recently thought I’d give it a try for the Valentine’s deal and once again, I was really disappointed. 🙁 hope everyone fares better than I did.

Is this one of the those sites where you can get credit for referring new people? If it is I would really like to use someone’s email or name! Let me know!

    • karen

I tried, but I dont think we can post links here anymore.. it is the second time I post one and it need to be “moderated”.. maybe I’m wrong and it will still be posted, but who knows!

      • SavvyNCMomma

That’s lame! Send me an email if you’d like- CarolinaMomma (at) ymail.com

I had a good experience last time this was available. You do have to call to cancel, but they didn’t make it difficult to cancel. I just said I couldn’t afford to keep the membership.

In terms of the polish, I guess I like it well enough for a penny, but I definitely wouldn’t pay full price for it. I couldn’t get through more than 2 days before it started to chip. I am “rough” with my hands in that I don’t wear gloves to wash my dishes, but I just do regular stuff… cook, clean, do the dishes, take care of my pets, etc.

    • Donna Mc.

“I couldn’t get through more than 2 days before it started to chip”

I tried using the polish three separate times, and each time it couldn’t go 12 HOURS before it started to chip. Totally not worth it, because it actually wasted a lot of my time constantly redoing my nails because it chipped so badly.

If anyone wants good polish that really lasts a looong time, try Nailtini.

I cannot urge you to NOT sign up for maven strongly enough. I signed up. A few days later, I logged in with my facebook account (which is the same email address I signed up with) and I got all of the contact information etc for someone else. I could have totally messed with her account. I logged out, did it again, and it did it again. I had to contact Julep and someone in their IT dept investigated it. That’s a very serious breach of information security. I have since closed my account. The polish was ok. The bottles are a little small. The blue shade I got was much darker than I expected, and it was extremely thick and gloopy with a teeny tiny brush. The pale pink was much much better, but in no way, shape or form worth their retail price. The brush was just awful.

I have never had so many compliments on my nails, I wore the purple for 2 weeks. It goes on great and stays on. I’m super happy with there products…o and there Whiting hand cream is awesome.

  14. Kahila T

does anyone know how long it takes to ship. and since i ordered today, will i be charged again on the 25th of this month?

  15. Andrea

Would anyone like to use my link to sign up? I ordered this when it was $5 a box and my mom ordered the penny box, I love all the colors we got. The consistency of the polish is great it’s not thick or goopy and all the colors I have go on great in one coat! It’s also really easy to skip the month, you do have to call to cancel but I’ve heard it’s pretty painless. I get an email on the 20th of every month and it always gives me the option to skip the box or gift it. I would definitely recommend getting the penny box, it’s a cute little gift for yourself that comes right to your doorstep, for a penny!

  16. Rachael

I love the polish and the hand cream is fantastic. Keep in mind you also have the option to choose another month’s box or to skip that month all together. The nail polish is the best, I get a ton of compliments and it lasts forever without chipping. Try it for a penny and see what I mean, if you don’t like it, you are only out a penny.

  17. Melissa

If anyone would like to send me their link I’d be happy to use it to sign u., I’m quite excited about the oscar color, I held off the last time I saw this deal because none of the colors really caught my eye and I’m glad I did beacuse this box seems to hold much more promise. Anywho my email is s311urhands (at) yahoo.com if you want to send me your link to use.

    Thanks for the great deal!

    • Rachael

      I just emailed you. Thanks!!

  18. Sara

It was worth a penny. that’s all. The hand lotion is awesome, but not for the $20 each month. The nail polish bottles ARE tiny, and the nail polish DOES chip a ton. Fun to get a penny package in the mail. Very fun. It was easy for me to cancel. Just sent an email and called. No biggie. Definitely not worth continuing, though.

  19. Kris

If I sign up for this today, when do I need to cancel by? After I receive my $0.01 package or before the 27th of February?

Thanks for all the feedback. I figure I’ll try it out for a penny and cancel asap.

    • Steph28

I think you can just log in and skip the month first instead of cancel it right away. After you get your package then I would say go ahead and cancel it 🙂 Anyone wanna use my referral link?? email me feraa_zone (at) yahoo.com thank you

    • Lauren Childre

It says if you cancel before they ship your intro package, it will not ship. So, I chose to skip a month. I received my package today (4 days from when I ordered) so I plan to on later and cancel it.

  20. Lauren Childre

I signed up for this .1 box the first day Collin posted it, and I just got it in my mailbox this afternoon! That was FAST! Thank you so much Collin!
