Had a really hard time with my coupons @ DG today for some reason. The cashier was really nice, but none seemed to want to scan. It all worked out in the end, though, and I got (2) Nivea body wash, (1) Nivea lotion, (1) Rexall toothbrush, (4) pr. cute socks (Skittles, M&Ms, etc.), (2) 24 oz. Lysol toilet bowl cleaners, (2) Glade candles (clearance and coupon), (1) bag mini cow tails and (4) Aquafina lip balms (these are awesome!) for $9.44. Not too shabby! 🙂

Obviously you would have to buy $25 worth of products before tax. Then hand them the $5 off $25 coupon. (either from the interent or off a receipt you have have gotten from this week.) Then hand over any other coupons and watch your total go down. 🙂
While DG let you use the $5 coupon first?? My Daughter n law has had trouble getting them to do it this way.
Me too. I’m here in OK and every time I try to use the $5 off $25 coupon, it won’t take it off if my total with all my other coupons drops below $25! It’s crazy. I always make sure the amount before tax is at least $25 and use the DG coupon first too! Very frustrating! 🙁
DG q rules re: $5/$25 state it is to be used after all other coupons and discounts have been applied. So your minimum next OOP will be $20, not matter which way you slice it.
My $5/25 coupon clearly states at the bottom under cashier instructions to put in the coupon BEFORE any MF coupons.
DG coupon policy states (if you read the bottom of the 5 dollars off 25 coupon) that they ARE TO USE THE 5 DOLLAR OFF COUPON FIRST. i worked at DG til my youngest son was born. but if they give you anymore trouble point it out on the reciept, if they still give you trouble call corporate with your complaint.
I love that part especially watching the cashiers and the other customers faces. the lowest I got is $14. This is also a good time to buy items that dont have a good coupon to get to the $25.

Yeah! I found a coupon from a sample I received that was $2/1 nivea product!
I called my Dollar General to get a price check….it’s 2.50, so 1.00 after the coupon. bummer 🙁
You still might want to check. It is marked as $2.50 on the shelf; I had to ask the cashier to check the price at the register. Good luck.

is it only womens, cause theres also a $1.50 in the same insert for mens wash too?
The on-line circular says $0.50 off all Nivea products, so I suspect this would also be the case.
There is mens wash coupon but my DG did not carry it. They also have Nivea lotion and there is a $1 off coupon so it is pretty cheap. I paid a dollar.
Called my DG for price check and she said $2.75 ea. Bummer

I just went to my dollar general and had them do a price check and actually scan the body lotion and it rang up for $2. So if you call the store ask them to scan the body wash because the price on the shelf says $2.65. I got 8 body washes for $4 dollars:)

Ladies!! It’s obviously going to show the regular price of $2.50 until you take it to the register and they scan at $2.00…just bought 5!!

Just got back from getting 4. Got them for around $2.50 total with tax. I took the mens body wash coupons just in case they had them for the same price, but they didn’t sell them.
i went in there all excited about to get my very first coupon deal 🙂 and bummer they didn’t have any. I will try to locate another DG 🙂 I will not give up, I will plan on going to target tomorrow in search of the awesome coupon deals everyone else is getting 😉
I just got back from my DG. The price was $2.50 on the shelf with no indication of the 50 cents off from the circular (unlike the Nivea lotion which was highlighted). Ringed up at $2!! I was able to get 2 at $0.50 each with the $1.50 off q.– women’s Orange Blossom. There was no men’s. Very pleased, thanks Katie and H2S.
So if the coupon expires on 2/25 can you still use it ON 2/25 or is it already expired?

I found it! I’m so happy, I have to go to DG anyway today to use my $5.00 coupon that I got after getting a cart full of stuff last weekend for 50% off. I decided to look through my recycle bin and found the coupon! Now if only it rings up $2. 🙂
WOW! I have only been couponing for a couple of weeks and this was my first really awesome deal. I had been hoarding Nivea body wash coupons since I got some with a free sample awhile back, plus I printed off 3 of the $4/2 lotions last week and found some body-wash coupons in a wal-mart coupon bin. PLUS I had the $5 off $25 coupon. So I got 6 lotions, 3 body washes, 2 2-packs of lip balm, and a $5 window treatment for only $1.50 before tax!!!! I think this has officially made me a coupon addict! Thank you H2S!

They would not take , my my coupon for $1.50, the register would not scan it, so they saod becuase it was already on sale for .50..they could not take the coupon..norcross ga, store.
I went to two stores in Marietta, Ga and one had to manually type in the coupon. At the other DG store, the cashier immediately said that he might have a problem with this coupon because it was missing a shorter bar. So he tried to scan it and it would not scan. He didn’t take it but since it was the last two and on sale I got them anyway. Don’t know if anyone else is having problems with the coupon but at least they are to expire after today. So no more headaches with this coupon!
They were not marked $2 at my store either but they still scanned $2. I used a $2/1 Q that a friend had sent me and got it for free! 😀
Just got back from DG in Maryland and to my surprise they had some. Thanks a bunch for this deal… got 8 body washes, 2 right guard deodorants and some dividers for my coupon book all for 4.79 before taxes!
