At 10AM EST today, head on over to the Valspar Paint Facebook page to enter the Valspar Connect to the Power in Color Giveaway! Every single day in March at 10AM EST, Valspar will be giving away 750 FREE paint project sample kits!
Just head over to the Valspar Paint Facebook page, “like” them, and then follow the directions on the Wall to enter the giveaway. If you are one of the 1st 750, you’ll snag a FREE kit. In the past, these kits have included an 8-ounce paint sample (over 3,000 colors to choose from), mini roller, paint tray and coordinating color chips. Yeah before you guys get too disappointed about not getting the freebie, 8oz is exactly that, a sample. Esp if you choose a dark color you may have to do 2-3 or more coats depending on your wall surface in order to get an accurate representation of the color. So you may be able to paint a 4′x4′ square if you’re lucky. If it’s flat wall paint you can’t really use it on a craft project.

With dark colors try using a tinted primer instead of white. It not only gives a deeper color but you can usually only then need about 2 coats of the paint.
