For any of you that aren’t familiar with the book that’s almost a century old, it’s based on John Carter of Mars. Other than Disney may be ashamed of their animated flop, ‘Mars needs Moms’, I’m not sure why they didn’t include the “Mars” in the title of the movie. At least Mars lets people that don’t know who John Carter is, that the movie is set on Mars, and not in the desert, somewhere.

      we loved Mars Needs Moms

I thought it was based on “A Princess of Mars” – the first book of the John Carter of Mars series (I recall there being a dozen of these books so I’m pretty sure they didn’t all make it into the film). It’s actually considered public domain (as are many of the sequels) at this point so any deal-hunters who need free reading material can score a free electronic copy to read on Gutenberg or for any e-reader for FREE.

Either way, for those who need more information, this is a series by the same author as Tarzan – Edgar Rice Burroughs.

I just flippin entered 2 Bluray codes-Monster’s Inc and Toy Story 3- last week to get the free bluray promo. How many codes do they think we have lying around? I already entered the code for any of the movies listed long ago as these are not newly released titles…..

    • Andrea

Drives me batty, too, Renee. They want you to buy new releases right away, but then offer stuff like this long after. Ugh 🙁

I tend to wait to enter mine because of this. The Christmas DVD promo they had a while back I got and left is laying around to enter later in case they had something like this. Glad I did. I did buy witch mountain just for the free ticket. I wanted the movie anyway and only paid $5.00 on amazon 🙂

I purchased the Tron Legacy DVD off Amazon.com for $16.49 and received a code via email to redeem for a free movie ticket. I expect that when I receive the DVD in the mail I should ALSO be able to redeem the Disney Rewards code and get a second free movie ticket…if this all works out I should get TWO free movie tickets to see this movie, plus Disney Reward points, plus if I save my two ticket stubs I should get additional points. Woo hoo!
