I’m so sad, I went to Target on Saturday and ended up leaving with nothing because the manager let me know that any coupon that scans and if the computer says “no item found” they can no longer push them through. She told me that it was their new coupon policy and she didn’t understand why since all my Target coupons said no item found. She told me that even if I was taking the correct item that she was sorry to let me know they could not longer accept the coupons even though they were Target coupons.
I was also at Target this Saturday and about half of my coupons prompted that screen. The cashier called over the manager and she pushed them thru. I am totally stumped as to why so many didn’t scan properly. I know the items were correctly paired. I am not looking forward to the day they tell me they can’t push them thru. I LOVE target because of their awesome clearence selection along with the ability to stack. If I loose Target, I don’t know what I’ll do.
the past half a dozen times i’ve been to target, every single one of my coupons wouldn’t scan and said this. regardless if the exact item was on the picture or not (though they tried that excuse). Target or manufacturer coupons both did this, and they told me and my friend that works there and her mother as well what they told you about the new policy…it’s crappy!
I know, I don’t want to loss Target either!! She also mentioned that they have a new system and that is why almost all coupons aren’t scanning, that she doesn’t understand herself why they changed the coupon policy. That she had so many mad costumers already. I can’t image how many costumers they will lose if this continues.
Went to my local Target and they accepted the $2 light bulb deal – they were on sale for $1.89, so they were free. Had the issue with the scanner not recognizing it, but the cashier pushes one more button and it takes it – for the right amount – so it must at least kind of recognize it if it knows the coupon amount…
This should not have happened. You need to call guest relations next time from guest service, I work for Target and that is incorrect information. The policy has not changed, I look at it at least twice a week and get an email when there is ay urgent news about the front lanes.
The manager showed me the piece of paper where it stated what they had to say to costumers when that happened. She said that they were barely training the cashiers and that not all of them knew about the change.
I will look tomorrow morning as I had the weekend off and let you know what I found. Do you happen to remember if it was an email or off of “workbench”?
I only saw one side of it where she let me read that they can’t no longer push the coupons through. It was a regular piece of paper. Thank you for double checking for us.
This seems to happen from time to time at different Target stores, it’s like the Managers are making up their own rules. I’d call Corporate and ask them about this. Target not even taking their OWN coupons is just ridiculous.
What I was told is that with the new, longer databar, information is sent to the manuf immediately (ie product match to coupon) so they know that Target is sending, lets say 25, coupons for Glade products. But an additional 6 were pushed through. Those coupons that were forced, the manuf is not reimbursing for anymore, unless Target can provide the accounting.
They really need to get these kinks worked out b/c it is frustrating when you have a correct coupon/product match and it beeps as item not found!

Kenia~ I was at target and they were saying something about a new policy but the on-line policy didn’t change.. I am unsure what is up but I am really bummed target is way too pricey with out the ability to stack….
I know, I love Target but if they are not even going to accept their own coupons then their is no point on going anymore =(

I went to target Saturday and the manager told me they couldnt accept my coupons! He said that he didn’t know why (after looking at them) but that the register wouldn’t take them. He said if he used the over ride button it would violate their policy!!!! So I don’t know what the over ride button is for then! But one of the coupons came off of an axe deodorant in the store!!! It was the worst experience ever, and I didn’t even get anything after all the time it took printing calculating and shopping 🙁

i used the “peak tea” coupon that i printed on coupon.com , and a manufactured coupon. it scanned perfectly fine.
the item that i used for the manufactured coupon wasn’t even in the cart. so the receipt came out $3 less.
I dont know what is going on? But me and my friend thought that was awesome.
If you received the “haiku” coupon book in the mail from Target, look before heading out because mine had a $4 off Hydro Silk razor coupon in it to stack with the MC.

I shopped in MI on Saturday with no problems with coupons. And the Method hand soaps were on clearance for $2.54!!
May i ask what’s the “method hand soaps” . Did you meant the Lysol?

I had a great experience at the local Target in Bismarck, North Dakota on Sat. I bought most of the deals posted. I bought about 4 items that I did not stack Target
Qs with MF Qs. My total was $100.54. and paid $42.01. Everything I bought was stuff we normally buy. So I was very excited, to check out. I gave the cashier the Target Qs first then the MF Qs next. I had two free items from emailing the company and asking for Qs. All the Qs went through without a hitch. My pre Q was $100.51 and I paid only $42.01. I was so excited, that was my best trip yet. Thanks for all the help, I would have never figure out all the match ups on my own. I hope Target does not change their Q policy. I love Target. By the way the Belvite biscuits are wonderful.
Got some of the Greenworks Bleach at Target this morning. It was on price cut for $3.79. So only $0.79 after coupons! 🙂

I went shopping at target this saturday also n had no problems with any of my coupons n i had a whole stack of them.My total was $136 before coupons. I had 3 $5 gift cards my oop expense was $15 plus i saved $8 in taxes to!! Hope they dont change the policy either!!
Completely off the subject but just wanted you all to know that the “Free Beauty Bag” from Target is online @ Target.com go to Health and Beauty click on the far left you will see the Free Beauty bag. If you scroll down it will tell you what 3 items to purchase to get the free bag. I bought an ELF Set 5.00 had around 9 colored lipglossed, small bottle origins bright, sherbert chap. Spent less then 13.00 includingshipping was only about 2.0, well I quickly got my package in the mail and to my surprise the beauty bag was loaded with small travel sizes samples plus a target coupon booklet. Even Better they threw in for free a Shick Women’s Razor the high priced ones reg. 9.99 or higher. The bag is very beautiful I think I will give my old one a rest. It really was well worth it. A friend of mine told me that she got a free bag using the website to purchase the right products in the store. I don’t know if the store still carries them. I asked my local Target and they said they did but didn’t announce it because then they would run out quickly.Worth a try :). But considering what I spent and what I got back the razor itself paid for the 13.00 I spent plus I got alot of stuff for free.
