If you love having flowers or goodies delivered to a loved one for a special occasion (like Mother’s Day! 😀 ), then this may the Groupon for you to snatch up!  For a limited time, head over to Groupon where you can currently snag a $40 FTD voucher for only $20.  Even sweeter, you can apply this voucher towards delivery, tax, and all other fees!

I was browsing around on FTD.com and noticed they have quite a few items priced at $19.99 in their Under $35 Section.  After adding an item priced at $19.99 to my cart (I opted to snag the Godiva chocolates for a gift! 😀 ), I noticed that delivery charge was around $16.99. My final cost came to $39.93 and I was able to apply the entire $40 Groupon voucher towards my order…making it FREE (just paid the $20 for the Groupon!).

This seems like a pretty good deal, especially if you’re planning on purchasing flowers or other gifts for Mother’s Day or another upcoming event anyway.  I think of it this way…with this voucher, I’m basically getting FREE delivery (which is normally on the expensive side!) and saving a few extra bucks on the gift item I may have wanted to purchase anyway.  Not too bad!

Also, don’t forget to spin the Clicky the Clickable Value Wheel for a chance to score up to $100 in savings on select Groupon deals (thru June 30th)!  Just head on over here and sign up for a Groupon account (if you haven’t already), and look for the “Spin My Face” link on the right-hand side (like the above picture). Come back and let us know if you score any BIG savings!

$20 for an 8-piece box of chocolate seems kind of high to me.

    • Sue Donym

In general, $20 is definitely high for chocolates, but for Godiva, it’s pretty normal (I know – twenty bucks for cocoa?! :).

I think this deal definitely makes more sense if you were going to purchase flowers (expensively) online for Mother’s day anyway (e.g. at FTD.com or 1-800-FLOWERS), but it definitely isn’t an “everyday” bargain price.

      • cdawnt

You’re right, I would LOVE to have those pink roses in the picture, they are my favorite!!!

    • Cara

I agree. The 8-piece box is $15 plus $7 shipping from Godiva. So you only save $2 and that assumes the 8-piece box is what you really want in the first place.

I won $5 on the wheel, but they only let you use it on certain deals, fyi. This was not one of them. They were all local deals.

If you go to retailmenot.com, search for FTD, and click the “Staff’s Pick” 20% off link to FTD, you can get 20% off. It looks like it’ll combine with the Groupon deal (option to type in Groupon code is still there), though I haven’t tested it yet.

    • Suzanne

Just tried this and when I hit “place order” the Groupon amount did not come off! Calling them now but I’m guessing you can’t combine the two.

      • Monica

If you enter your Groupon # and keep that window open, then click the retailmenot link, then reapply the Groupon #, it works.

        • Monica

Nevermind, even though when I checked out, it showed my Groupon discount, their confirmation page (after clicking “Confirm Payment” or whatever) showed that they did not include my Groupon discount. Sigh, that’s pretty shady.

          • LizB

Did that to me too… however, I called FTD’s 1-800 number directly after I placed the order and the CSR fixed it within 3 mins! Only charged my VISA $1.01 it said it was going to when I placed the order.

            • Paul

Not me, it showed them charging me $4 to my credit card and I had a charge for $44. I called them and they added $11 to the total to remove my discount and then refunded me $40. So in total by buying the Groupon I saved only a few dollars, not $20 like I had thought I would be saving. It’s not worth the headache to buy the Groupon in the future. But check your credit card statements! Because I never would have found this until I checked my statement.

Do you have to link the groupon account to your facebook accout in order to spin the face wheel? My husband has a groupon account but not a facebook account. I am not able to get the wheel to spin unless I connect the two accounts. Am I missing something? Can you spin without having facebook? If so please tell me how.

    • Kari C

I think you need facebook but if you have facebook you should be able to connect it to your account for the spin.

  8. Delaina

    FTD’s site, I meant to say 🙂

    • Delaina

Never mind. That iTunes cannot be combined with the Groupon! 🙁

  9. Sara

Ebates offers 20% cashback on FTD.

  10. Sara

Oh, and remember to link through ebates when you purchase groupons, as you get 6% cash back.

Just a heads up. I have used FTD twice (because of I bought a daily deal), and they were HORRIBLE both times. The first time, the flowers were not delivered at all. That resulted in a credit. The second time, the status online kept saying it was going to be delivered, and when I called to verify, I was told they wouldn’t know if it actually was until the next day. Of course they were not delivered that day. They came finally….two days after they were supposed to be delivered and two day after my grandmother’s birthday. I will never order from them again…even if it’s free.

  12. Cristie

You get 15% back shopping through your discovercard with groupon

  13. Sara

Never mind, you can’t link to FTD through ebates and use the groupon.

Got $5 off their limited deals. I won $5 doing this a week or two ago and combined it with a $10 off promo they emailed me. It worked out to be a GREAT deal for a family portrait shoot.

I’m totally done with FTD. I got a similar deal for Valentine’s Day last year. I ordered a bouquet for a friend that had a break up right before the holiday, and it never came. I kept waiting for a thank you text from my friend, never saw anything. Finally, around 9:30 I checked in with her–nothing. They delivered the flowers two days late & never contacted me about it. I definitely contacted them! Anyway, I’d try the PlumDistrict deal for Teleflora instead. They’ve always done a nice job, even on busy flower holidays.

  16. Debra

I purchased two of these deals. I had my spill with all of them Sharrie’s Berries sent rotten strawberries for Valentine’s Day, giftbaskets.com treats were horrible during Christmas. I usually do not take advantage of these deals because the voucher normally do not apply towards shipping, so to me this is a great deal. I have ordered from FTD before with no problem.

    • cdawnt

I love ProFlowers, I’ve never been disappointed in their flowers.

  17. Allie

Thank you for posting this deal!! I looked at FTD a few nights ago and it was to much to send flowers to my Mother. But with the offer it was only 9.98!! What a blessing!! Thank you for everything you do Colin 🙂

  18. Tifny Mathena

I bought this Groupon, felt super smart, and ended up having it refunded. If you are looking to use it for flowers on Mother’s Day…don’t waste your time. You can’t combine it with any items that are on sale…and almost ALL (I couldn’t find any that weren’t) their bouquets are on sale right now.
