    Thanks

Prices at Toys R Us are too high… Now i am trying to figure out where to buy my kids school supplies and i do check all the sales everywhere. Lets say 8ct Washable markers at Toys R Us are 7.99 full price or 6.99 online on sale. So buy 1 get 2 free it’s 2.66 per pack. In Staples same markers are 2 each and plus you can get 1c items with purchase of $5…

    • Bernadette Braga Marcias

I agree Vicky..1 for 2, you still get it cheaper at Walmart/ Target. But last ear Toys R Us did have Crayola Crayons for .25…so waiting for that sale.

      • Stephanie

walmart has them on sale for 20 cents a pack…

    • shanshan

      $7.99?! :-O

    • sarah

Dont start shopping for supplies just yet. In about 3 -4 weeks you will find crayole markers for a buck and crayons for a quarter at Walmart and Target.

      • Melissa

I was at target last night theyve got the crayola crayons for 1.00 and markers

        • Katrina

Walmart had their back to school stuff out and on sale yesterday. Crayola 24 pack of crayons for $ .25 and markers were a buck I think.

    • Carrie

That was my experience last time they had this sale too. The prices are ridiculous to start with so getting two “free” really wasn’t worth it. I found the same stuff elsewhere for much cheaper without a “sale.”

    • Dawn

I also agree. Last year I used a $3 birthday coupon on it though, and that made it a better deal (I think). I really wonder WHY people buy from this store??? They are SO high priced!

    • Mo

Hey all! Just a head’s up – the best deal we saw last year on Crayola *washable* markers were the free after RR ones at Walgreens. Other than that, the $1 deals were all for the *regular* crayola markers.

If you’re at ALL Type A (like I am LOL) and are worried about clothes getting ruined from art & crafts, the washable kind are what you want; I always thought ALL Crayola was washable – but that couldn’t be farther from the truth!

So the $2 packs at Staples might be a good deal to pick up! If you don’t need to use them right now, you can always keep the receipt with them and return them should you find a better deal later on – BUT – make sure you know that if you do a return and you have items in that purchase that were *only* a deal when you spent a certain amount of money (ie: the $0.01 items with $5 purchase), you’ll take a bath on them, so make sure to buy something else over $5 if you think you might return your Crayola items.

HTH … and um … isn’t too confusing! LOL

      • Deedee

I completely agree with you about the difference between washable and regular!! I hope Walgreens does the RR deal again. But, I am getting some at Staples for $2 just in case.

    • kay

Totally agree Vikky…way overpriced! Walmart & target always have awesome school supply sales, just give it another week or two 🙂

    • Anna

I agree,I just bought my 13 months old a bunch of crayola crayons at walmart super cheap, nothing was more than $2. Toys r us is super overpriced.

  4. Lindsi

I just got crayons on sale at Kroger for 39 cents a box. They also had spiral notebooks for 19cents.

    • Char

In VA Kroger has the 24 pk of Crayola crayons for .29

      • char

You stole my name! 😉 lol

  5. Riva

I found that the expensive crayola… other than the basic markers/crayons are worth it.

  6. zoe

sadly, the color wonder paper are not included in shoprunner free shipping…guess i have to get the toddler up and out to toys r us tomorrow…oh joy….i hate going in there with the kids!

  7. Ali

staples has the crayola 10 markers (the tall and skinny ones) for $1. You can buy up to 4 at that price. If you spend $5 at staples you can get 1 cent roseart crayons, bic pens, and staples glue. There were a lot of great deals at staples this week.

    • Lisa

I just got back from Staples and the had some ridiculously awesome deals. There was sign on the Crayola 24pk of crayons that they are priced at $1 until September. Great deals on markers, pens, pencils, erasers…

      • Lauren

I got a 24 pack of Crayola crayons at walmart for 50 cents on sat

        • melissa

The 24 pk of Crayola crayons at toys r us is 43 cents each when you do the buy 1 get 2 free.

    • Tanya

Teachers can get 25 of each of the Staples $.01 deals for their classrooms.

      • char

how much has to be spent to get it? still $5? Is there anything saying this anywhere? thanks!

      • Brittany

I heard Staples changed their policy…we now have the pay the full price after the first 2 and then we get reimbursed for the difference in Staples rewards 🙁 Check out all the comments in Collins Staples Post.

        • char

          “we” as in teachers???

          • CW

24 pk Crayola Crayons are 50 cents this year at Walmart, not 25 cents. Prices went up 🙁 Yes Char, I am a teacher and they changed their policy. Teachers used to be able to get a class set of 25 crayons, portfolios, pencils, etc for 1 cent a piece. They did away with it this year. What Brittany wrote above is correct. They lost a lot of Staples customers thanks to this. There are petitions online if it affects you as much as it affected me 🙁

            • Ali

Well I don’t understand why Staples would lose customers by not giving away basically free school supplies for every teacher in the USA. They are a business and if you abide by the rules and quantity limits teachers should be able to pick up a lot of school supplies for back to school for some decent prices. I know that I always buy extra and donate them to my kids school. I appreciate that teachers often dip into their own money to provide for their students, but I am not sure its up to Staples to give away their goods.

            • Samantha

I hate to harp on an issue, but as the wife of a teacher, I can tell you that at least in my school district, teachers don’t ‘often dip into their own money’– they are literally responsible for providing ALL of the school supplies for the room (of 35 children). So, I never felt bad about taking advantage of 25 one cent glue sticks that the company offered as a service to teachers. Even with those deals, my household spends over $1000 a year on school supplies– even with the awesome deals posted here. So yeah, it really stinks that Staples changed their policy. : )

      • Sarah

Why should Staples have to provide school supplies? I don’t think teachers should either…but you can’t really complain that Staples isn’t giving away products. As with all freebies…enjoy it while you can because there are no guarantees.

  8. melissa

I just left toys r us and was able to get the twistable crayons. They are priced at 5.99 and I was able to get 2 more Free. this is a great deal for twistable crayons.

    • Sara

I totally agree with you, Melissa! Thanks checking the price.
Twistables are cost a bit more to begin with, but are so easily kept for years and years. Much more durable than the $.25 packs that break when you use them once. The twist ones at the dollar store are pretty cheap, too. Must go with crayola brand! Definitely worth the investment, in my opinion.

    • Emilytwinmom

I too go with the twistable crayons for my little kiddos – and I found them at the new dollar store “Five Below” for $1.99 a pack, crayola brand! My 4yr old twins call them “grown up crayons” 🙂

  9. Michelle

Ladies, don’t forget you can use the $1 coupons that Crayola put out on their FB page last week for the color wonder and black erase supplies since they are BIGI – got some pretty good deals.

    • char

Are they still available to print?

      • Betty Johnston

I just printed some at 4:13 CST

        • allqdup

My store couldn’t get the coupon to print and when they called the manager over, he said he couldn’t do anything about it! Terrible customer service in my opinion. I left with nothing 🙁

          • allqdup

            I meant *scan* sorry

  10. andrea

Toys R Us WILL PRICE MATCH!!! Check with your local store, but I have been able to price match in GA and NC!!!

  11. Brittany

Just got back from Target …Crayola 24 ct crayons were $0.77 and 10 pack markers were $1.00

  12. stacy

They had this sale Last year when my locale walmart was testing a double coupon and price matching bogo’s! I bought 3pks at walmarts price of dollar or two making each one around .50 each!!

  13. Jess

Would you be able to price match these at Target or Walmart? I’ve never price matched so I’m not exactly sure how/if it would work.

    • Tiffany Ivanovsky

Not unless they have a printed ad with the prices listed.

  14. Anna

From what I see, walmart’s price match requires a price. The ad does not specify any prices and so I don’t think they would accept it. It also looks like Target’s price match excludes BOGO

  15. Evy

Hi. I just saw the publix ad for the upcoming week. If you have a publix near you, the 24 pack of crayons will be 3 for $1, or $0.33 each. That’s the cheapest I’ve heard so far.

  16. em

Just wanted to say that many things were very well priced after the bog2 promo. I purchased three packages of crayola construction paper (around 100 pieces) for 2.99 making them around $1 each. The pip squeaks washable markers 16 count were $4.99 as was the package of thin washable markers 20 count making them around $1.66 each, I believe. I also purchased the twistable crayons like someone mentioned above. They did not have the color wonder coloring books for $4.99 like they do online so the wonderful costumer service woman helped me by ordering it for me from her computer. It is free shipping if you order it from the store. I tried to order 2 sets online (4 books) but it only allowed one bogo promo per order so she did it in two separate orders. I thought that was very nice of her. The doll strollers are $5 which is a pretty good price for those that need one. Playmobil (pricey but my kids love this) is bogo 50% off which is pretty good plus if you spend $10 or more on it then you get a free santa playmobil person. To sweeten the deals mentioned I received a $10 off $50 coupon in the mail recently that had the rewards r us logo on it. I also had a $3 birthday coupon. They let me use both in my transaction. After all my discounts… I paid around $40 (this included the online order) for a lot of quality products. I was pretty happy and so were my kids!

  17. Danielle Levins

Our local Toys ‘r’ us had the thick markers for $3.99/1 so we got them for $1.33 each, not bad at all! They also had their “washable” thick markers for 4.99 each, still not too bad! Thanks a ton Collin! We love stocking up on school supplies, we have a special drawer in our daughters huge desk (its a file size drawer) that is a “Mommy only” drawer, no one is allowed into it except me, when it’s time to pull out school supplies I go through her list and pull out whats needed and then buy anything remaining and stocking up on good deals for next year, such as this one, she’ll only need one set of the markers for school and she already has a set for here at home, so the two surplus packs will go into the drawer for next year!
