If you are a newbie to Walgreens shopping, make sure to check out my Walgreens Store guide. And if the coupon jargon below starts to confuse you, take some time to read through the Coupon Newbie section.

Also, as most of you know, Walgreens released a corporate coupon policy. You can view the policy here. Be sure to print a copy and bring it with you when you shop in case any issues should arise. You can also now print Walgreens Instant Value Coupons online here.*NOTE: If you can find the monthly coupon booklet in-store, save your printer ink.

I forgot – if you use a RR from another P&G Deal, will another P&G RR print? Say if I want to use the $2 RR from the Herbal Essences deal to pay for the Scope Deal with the $3 RR? Thanks in advance 🙂

    • Noelle

No, the RR won’t print if you use it for a deal from the same company.

      • SS

I thought it would work as long as the $$ amount is different…

        • faith

i thought so too,…as long it was from a different promo

  7. Guest

Is there any way to print out the Bush Beans coupon? When I follow the link it asks to put it on my card? I don’t have a card.

  8. Barbara

After signing up for the Pure Protein Newsletter, I tried to print the $1.00 coupon but I received a message saying, “This program has ended”. . . bummer!

    • Tina M

      I got the same message.

    • Mila

      Same here 🙁

    • Diane

      Me too!

  9. Melissa

Has anyone found the new TEN sodas? I’ve been looking everywhere for them! Especially A&W TEN… I’m a sucker for root beer… 🙂

    • Taera

Ditto! I haven’t been able to find it though. 🙁

    • maflies1

      What are they sweetened with?

    • Shayla

Just found them at our Target last night. It has aspartame in the ingredients.

  10. Carol_R

Thanks so much Collin for the match-ups.

  11. Mindy M.

I haven’t been able to find the $.60 off Chex Mix coupon on that link, any tips?

    • Jane

I think it is probably all out of prints…I can’t find it either – the .50c off one is still there though!

    • Shayla

the $.60 was only available through 8/31…new round of coupons released in Sept. Not as good for those of us who store doubles =(

  12. Mila

If you go to the Skinny Cow website, they have two games you can play. One is a quick quiz of the movie Dirty Dancing. When you finish you can print two coupons. $1/1 ice cream and $1/1 Candy Snack (should work on the above deal).

    • Mila

Oh wait. The $1/1 Candy snack is for a 4 count package or larger…not the individual bars. My bad.

  13. Amy ODonell

Collin, thanks as always for the matchups… I noticed one goof. Softsoap coupons all expire today:(

  14. Alissa

No coupon inserts this weekend???? Is it because the holiday? :”(

    • Jenny

Yup! Normally you won’t get any coupon inserts over a holiday weekend. It is a good idea to call your paper ahead of time and arrange to put your paper on hold for that weekend. That way you are not paying for a paper with no coupons! 🙂

  15. Lisa

Can I buy the Crest and the Scope in one transaction and still get both register rewards? Just asking since they are both from P&G…

    • Mila

They did for ne today 🙂

  16. holly

The new Power & Clean Lysol wipes and other cleaners are on sale for $1.99. There is a $1 off coupon link from http://www.freecouponalerts.com making them just a dollar!

  17. cara

How low do the Walgreens brand diapers go for now? There use to be some awesome deals on these when they had those coupons for them. Is $5 about as good as it gets anymore?! I was thinking $4 might have been the cheapest I’ve seen them for the jumbo packs.

    • Jamie

I know that no one asked, but just thought I would mention that I love Walgreens brand diapers. I really think that they are comparable to Huggies. No leaks…really good quality! Happy shopping!

      • Ariel

I got a whole bunch last year for $2.99 a pack. They had coupons in their infant care book, but I havent seen coupons for them in a long time. I love their diapers. I bought 30 packs when I found them for 2.99. They work great!

      • Lisa

I agree, they are like Huggies quality-wise (which we love!). I have 4 diapers left for my little girl so we will be picking some up today.

      • Lisa

I love them too, but we are now moving up to training pants. Can anyone comment on whether those are as good?

        • della

No leaks with the training pants, but you have to be careful with the velcro at the sides. W brand can really scratch up their legs.

    • South Suburban Savings

$5/pack isn’t an incredibly awesome price, but it’s still pretty good (now). I’ve been able to get them cheaper this year during the Friends & Family sales or when they’re BOGO.

A few months back they were $4.50 each and I combined it with RR’s and a promo code to save more. Use web pick up if it’s offered in your area. There’s usually a code that will get you $5 off your first order with a $20 minimum. I believe the current code is LBRDAY5 🙂 And if you go in the store to pick up your order, you can use coupons when you check out!

  18. Katie

Is anyone having any luck finding the Balance Bar coupon? Is there a specific zip code I should try?

  19. Dee

Our walgreens is open 24 hrs, and we have quite a few couponers in our area. 1 lady inparticular will completely clear the shelves of any sale item she can by 8 am on sunday morning. Well I decided to put my hubby on kid patrol and scooted to walgreens at midnight. Just to get the deals. I payed $2.38 out of pocket for 3 cases of water, 4 herbal essence, 4 scope, 3 chex mix, and 8 campbells soup(which will last 4 days in this house) Rolled over previous rr’s and got back $13.00 in rr. This is by far 1 of my best scores. And dont worry. I left plenty for anyone else who wants some deals.

    • Amanda

I just went to Walgreens to get the free Mentos up2u gum (on clearance for .39, and there’s a $1/2 coupon in their coupon book, if anyone missed the post), and one of the cashiers was telling me that there’s a lady that does the same thing! I’m all about getting a good deal, but other people might need the same thing too!

      • dawnyel

I agree completely, if I am going to get a lg order the store manager always orders ahead for me and I pick up my order the day they get their truck which is usually a Wednesday. I never take their entire stock. I went last week to get the kraft deals and even though I cld have bought 10 boxes of velveeta they only had 12 boxes so I only bought 4. There is a lady that goes to our store and will clean them out and resell it at the flea markets. If they’re gonna do that order ahead. Id never try to put someones means of living down but its kind of rude

        • Vee

There are a bunch of people in my area that do this. I have pretty much stopped couponing due to this. The cashiers hate dealing with couponers because of these people. And our grocery stores now have limits on how many you can buy and will only take a few coupons. But Wags still won’t limit. It’s such a shame that a few have ruined it for the rest. I’ll be glad when the fad of couponing finally dies down.

          • Maria

If we have a good deal in our sale ad, and it does list a specific limit, I will hold to that limit for those people who will come in a clean the shelves out.. If making it harder for them to clean us out saves some for other people, than I’m all for it. I also go through the sale ad’s a week or two before they come out to the public, and I’ll check to see if there is anything that is a “free” item with RR. I will make sure that our entire stock isn’t on the shelf for those items that first sunday morning because we have a lady that will come in and buy EVERY item that is “like getting it free with RR”, and have us ring her in 10 plus different transactions. So I’ll put 1 or so on the shelf, and as soon as she’s gone, I’ll put the rest back out. I know it sucks, but she did it EVERY sunday for months before I realized what was going on. It’s no wonder why we had a lot of angry customers complaining that we never had any of the “free” items in stock..

    • Kristen

I hate when people go in there on Sunday mornings when the sales switch and wipe everything out! One cashier told me if I was going to coupon I just needed to come when the store opened at 8am on Sunday morning, but I told him no thanks cuz I had church!!! But I get frustrated that by the time I get out at eleven, all the shelves are cleared! 🙁 I feel ya pain! Lol

    • Nicole

Most of the time if you need to order an even somewhat large amount of something your Walgreens manager should be able to order it for you. That’s what we do at our Walgreens and it works out great. No shelf clearing and we get what we want, as well as everyone else!

  20. Amanda

There’s also a Lysol wipes rebate in one of the recent inserts (whichever one had the $3 off the No-touch system), making it 3/$1.98 with the $1 coupons!

  21. Heather

At my local store in WI, the RR for the Chex/Bugles is not printing. I bought the Bugles and the manager and cashier did verify they are part of the sale, as the ad states.

    • Mila

I had the same problem. Found out that it only prints for the original flavored Chex mix. The store has stickers under the other flavors advertising the 1 RR promo but apparently it’s wrong. The manager could only get the RR to print with the original Chex mix.

    • Maria

The manager should have taken $1 off the order to compensate for the RR. I bought 9 bags, only didn’t print the RR was when I had Gardettos in the order. So we returned that order and re rang it, and took $1 off to adjust for the RR we knew wasn’t going to print. 🙂 I didn’t even buy a single bag of original Chex. Don’t like it. 🙂

  22. Tanya

I did great this week! Last week nothing worked for me 🙂 I think couponing is starting to go out of style where I live. I used to get to the stores and they would be sold out of everything by 8:30 or 9am.

  23. Jayna

I bought Chex mix, Alteril, Scope mouthwash,Herbal Essence, bottle of Purex and Biore and everything rang up for the right price and register rewards all printed. Great morning at Walgreens!

  24. Michelle

Quick question – if the register reward doesn’t state a limit is it infinaite? For example I wanted to get 4 of the aussie hair products – would it only print 2 RR for the 2 items or 2 $2 RR for the 4 prodcuts? Thanks in advance!

    • Erin

only one RR will print for each promotion per transaction, regardless of how many you buy. If you wanted to buy 4 hair products, you would need to split them up into 2 transactions in order to get two $2RR

      • Michelle

Thank you! I was thinking that was the case but I figured I’d better ask! 🙂

  25. Sasha

Just back from all 3 dstores-got 15 bags Chex, 6 Scope and 2 Lysol Sprays (wipes were WIPED out hehehe).
Heads up-some of the flavors of Chex are throwing a wrench in the works when producing the RR. One Mgr. had to get another flavor & scan 3 times to get the RR to print forme. All good-she was king and patient. 🙂
    A very prosperous morning indeed!
Be sure to stop by RA & grab all your Honest Tea, using the $1.25/2 Q or the $1/2 HangTag and Sani-Hands for the SCR.
At CVS, those little 2.5 oz. Gillette Gel ARE on the sale. Pay $2.37, get $2. ECB!

  26. MaryBeth

My husband bought 3 Bugles that were on sale and used the three coupons. A RR did not print out as it should have. When he asked the cashier he was told if you use too many coupons a RR will not print. When he asked the Manager she would not give him the $1 because she said it must not be working and also that he used coupons, even though he showed her the ad in the paper. Ever heard of coupons affecting the RR?

    • Mila

Did he get the flavored ones? I think that only the original flavor works.

      • MaryBeth

He got 2 of the original and 1 caramel. They were all included in the signs the store had up and rang up on sale. I called corporate customer service and they couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t work or why the manager didn’t honor it. They are going to look into it more and have someone call me back.

    • Krista

No, it wasn’t because of the coupons he used. I’ve heard sooooo many stories from various cashiers and managers as to why a RR won’t print. From comments above, it seems that only the original flavor chex mix is working for the deal, even though all flavors are included. A good manager will just give you the cash, or re-ring it with the product that will generate the reward. A bad manager will just make up a reason 😀

      • Krista

They might have it fixed in the computer later in the week, so maybe you can get them to re-ring it for you then.

        • Maria

I bought EVERY flavor of chex mix, EXCEPT original.. The only time it’s not printing the RR is if you add Gardettos or Bugles into the mix. Either way, the mngr should have re rang it and given you $1 off the order..

        • MaryBeth

Turns out my situation was an RR that wasn’t printing out correctly and a manager-in-training that didn’t understand the choices she had to correct it. The main manager called me and apologized. He planned to talk with the other manager and his employees about what to do in these cases. He agreed this is an easy thing to correct with the RR. He took my name down so next time I come in I will get a discount in the amount of the RR that didn’t print out-applied to my next order. He even mentioned in the back room they have a sign that says “Make Couponers your friend”. He understands how using coupons is a positive thing for his store. Thought this was great and was very satisfied with how the store handled this.

  27. Annette

    How about:
For the Tresemme’… TRESemme Hair Care – shampoo or conditioner 25 or 32 oz, select stylers buy 1 get 1 50% off
    Deal Scenario:
Buy 2 TRESemme Shampoo or Conditioner 25 or 32 oz products $4.99 each
Plus, on sale buy 1 get 1 50% off = $7.49 for both
Buy 2 TRESemme’ styling products $4.99 each
    Plus, on sale buy 1 get 1 50% off = $7.49
Use 2 $3 on any TRESemme styling product with the purchase of TRESemme shampoo or conditioner coupons (will deduct $6)
Plus, use the $1/1 TRESemme Walgreens store coupon found in the September Coupon Booklet (will deduct $4)
Final cost only $4.98 – just $1.25 per bottle (and these are huge bottles!)

    I’m excited!!!!

    • Molly

Where did you find the $3 coupon for the styler?

      • Annette

        I’m sorry, I don’t know where/when I got it… probably a month or so ago and it expires 9/9/12.

  28. LMarie

Does anyone know if the BIORE products are still printing the $5 Register Rewards if you buy 2?

  29. Tara

Had trouble with chex mix today as well. Bought a cheddar, bold and original bugles which all were part of the 3/$3 as in ad but no RR. I used the Herbal P&G RR to pay in part and cashier thought that was why but manager just rang up 3 cheddars and it spit it out. Also got a printout from coupon machine that there is a RR promo starting 9/3-9/30 on Chex mix and 100 cal Chex mix bags. Buy 3 get $1RR, Buy 4 get $2RR, Buy 5 or more get $3RR. Not sure if this is really the same promo as in the ad or if it will double print tomorrow. I would think to buy 6 and get the $1RR from the weekly ad and the $3RR so 6 bags for $2 without any coupons!! That is if the shelf isn’t cleared out…

    • Sue

So it sounds like if you buy 3 cheddars the rr will print. Does anybody know of other flavors that are working? My store is not very willing to work with couponers. So I try to make sure everything is working in advance. TYIA

  30. Karen

I’m finding Walgreen’s very difficult to shop at. Today I attempted the Biore deal & the RR did not print because I used a coupon. Also tried the Chex, Bugles deal again with coupons and did not get the RR. This is after trying to get the Herbal Essences deal last week and they had deleted the coupon from the computer and would not accept. Today I got a refund of my purchase and walked out of the store leaving everything on the counter. I’m done with the Des Moines, WA store.

  31. Jane

Question!! I got one of the FREE aussie product coupons last week…can I use that with the promo AND a $3 off 2 coupon to score them for a $2 MM??? Thank you:)

    • Dana

No, you can’t because you’re allowed one coupon per product, and since the Aussie/Herbal Essences is $3/2, it gets applied to two products.

BUT, I did try the same thing. What happened was the cashier said she’d try it because she wasn’t completely sure. So I picked out two products, she scanned them, she scanned my free product coupon, tried the other coupon and it didn’t work, so I put one of the products back. I got it for free and the RR still printed out! I don’t think it was supposed to, but hey! I made two dollars!

  32. joanne

The rr for the 3 chex mix printed – don’t know about the bugles or gardetto. However, I don’t think that the 1 RR has anything to do with the new promotion that starts today – buy 3 = 1rr, buy 4 = 2rr, buy 5 = 3rr. Also, its possible that if you buy 5 in one deal, 3 will ring up at 1.00 ea and the other two will come up as 1.49 ea.

    • mel

I can confirm that when I bought 4 today, the 4th one rang up $1 as well. I believe as long as you buy the required amount (in this case 3), then every item after that will ring up the sale price too. I’m going to go later in the week to buy 6 more bags and roll the $2 RR. I need to refuel my stockpile, we burned through quite a bit b/c of Isaac! we just got our power turned back on and I’ve been itching to print some q’s to make it a better deal!

  33. rosebudds

Guys are the skinny cow coupons from the 7-29 RP different? I was about to clip them and I saw that it’s for buy 2 get 1 free not buy 1 get 1. only a ten cent difference , just thought I’d point it out 🙂

    • mel

my area got the BOGO coupon, so it must be a regional value since yours is B2G1.

  34. Jennifer

I am not sure if everyone gets same mobile coupons. I had $1/2 post coupon. On sale 2/5. I used $1/2 coupon.from newspaper then $1/2 from mobile then got a RR for $1. Made them $1 a box.

    • Jennifer

And advil at my store had a RR of 4.99. which made them free or in my case bought my starbucks

  35. wags ba

my company will kill me for being honest but oh well honestly walgreens is to high to shop at inless items are super on sale or rr or high value coupons i buy most of my items at target now for this reason for instance shick razors the quatro my fav at wags are 10.00 at target 6 or the venus razors 14.00 wags 6 at target so make sure u checking what cheaper because wags jacks up alot of there prices

    • Guest

That’s exactly why we come here! To match the weekly deals with coupons so we can afford it! 🙂

      • wags ba

i use this site to but even with items being on sale target is sometimes still cheaper for instance the razors i mentioned the cheapest wags runs them is buy 1 get other half off they cheaper at target even if u buy 2

    • kylie

Yeah I’m sure no one here would pay $14 for a razor that is obscene…OR $6 even!!! Hahah! Thanks to Collin 😉 I will not buy a razor unless it is less than $1 and I don’t even buy any disposables.

      • wags ba

I know that I won’t beauty of it is I didn’t pay 6.00 I paid 5.00 for 2 packs a lil high but not bad they were bonus packs to way better price then wags used the 3.00 on 2 target coupon and 2 2.00 on one mfc not free but good for 8 of my fav razor like who would pay 15 bucks for same at wags not me

    • Mer

all my razors (Gillette proglide and Venus and Olay) are free after drugstore rewards and coupons. Both from Rite Aid and Wags. I don’t pay anything for razors or any toiletries and I don’t shop at walmart.

      • wags ba

i also did those deals for the proglide and venus but sometimes i like the dispoables better sometimes those are hardly ever free so wasnt a bad price was i make beauty baskets for a drawing for my custumers so i buy diff types

        • wags ba

          meant as lol

  36. Nichole H

I bought biore two for 5.99 each and used the buy one pore and get cleanser for free so $5.99 for both. Then by my surprise in one of the transactions with post cereal and cottonelle and sinful nail color..the machine printed out a $5 rr I was super happy…just wanted to let you all know.

  37. erica

On the 3 shower gels of Axe, per the coupon, you can only use 2 identical coupons allowed in same shopping trip…still a good deal though!

  38. Nicole

Went to Walgreens earlier tonight to get some Chex Mix and Cottonelle and there was a lady in front of me buying Biore. She got extremely upset when the the RR did not print (even though it’s all over the internet). The cashier pointed out something that made a lot of sense to me. She said that because we are trying to use a coupon that makes one of the items free that is it somehow registering in the computer that we have only purchased one item instead of two (even though we are technical purchasing two items) and therefore that could be causing the RR not to print. She was really nice to the lady and refunded the items, so it wasn’t a big deal. But that got me thinking…maybe there is a glitch in their computer system that is making the RR not print because of the coupon we are trying to use. I could be wrong, I know it’s not a problem for everyone, but it’s just something to think about.

    • Maria

What I would suggest doing is asking the cashier to put that coupon amount in manually instead of scanning it. That way it still prints the RR. The store is still getting paid for the coupon either way. Shouldn’t be an issue.

  39. Dani

I went to “Walgreens” today to get the Chex mix with $RR , Covergirl buy one get one 50% off(had a $5.00 coupon for covergirl made it really sweet) and Herbal Essence. I didn’t get my $ RR for Chex. I also, bought a clearance item (paper) and it also rang up incorrectly. However, there were so many people in Walgreens & the Manager referred to me as “One of those shopper’s!!!” Guessing he meant a ‘Couponer!” Well, since I was feeling uncomfortable, being a fairly new stacker/rr user.
I left the store and forgot about the $RR and incorrect price until I got home. 🙁 I have given them a lot of business & so have my HipSister’s to be treated poorly! Complain when you have bad sercice! I WILL BE FROM NOW ON!! Couponer’s draw a lot of business for them!

    • Nicole

I completely understand that you had a bad experience(we all have at one point or another), but we also need to remember to call in and do the survey on the receipts when we have a good shopping experience as well!

  40. Dani

I forgot to ask a Question! Does Walgreen’s pay the difference if an item was full price but went on sale the next? Anyone know? Thanks, many blessing’s!

    • Maria

      No, they don’t..
