If you’re new around here, you may not be familiar with the rewards program called Swagbucks. With Swagbucks, you earn points just for taking surveys, playing games, entering codes, searching the web (something we all do on a regular basis!), and much more! You can then redeem those points for awesome rewards – like gift cards to Amazon, Starbucks, Chili’s, Lowes, Target, Lands’ End, and more. With the holidays around the corner, these gift cards are sure to come in handy!

Even sweeter, through 9/30, Swagbucks is offering up an exclusive promo code for Hip2Save readers! If you’re a new Swagbucks member, you can earn an extra 70 points just for signing up when you enter the code HIP2SAVE12 on the sign up page (in addition to the 30 points you already get for signing up)! That’s a total of 100 points just for signing up! 😀

Here are a few ways to earn Swag Bucks…

* Searching the web
If yours is a winning search, you will see a “Congratulations” screen featuring your Swag Bucks award immediately above your search results; you will never be directed away from your search. You can win multiple Swag Bucks every day; Swag Bucks can be won in denominations ranging from 1 – 1,000.

* Taking Surveys
Each survey that you chose to engage with may have a different Swag Bucks payout. Completing “deeper profiles” helps Swag Bucks alert you only to surveys for which you qualify and typically enables you to complete more targeted surveys which have significantly higher Swag Bucks payouts. Snag 1 Swag Buck per day just for heading over to the Survey page!

* Voting in Daily Polls
Snag 1 Swag Buck per day for voting in the daily poll.

* Watching videos
Swag Bucks are awarded randomly via Swag Bucks TV. Not every video you watch will earn you Swag Bucks, but just like Swag Bucks search, every video you watch is a chance to earn.

* Completing Special Offers
To ensure that an offer has been completed, follow the instructions provided for each individual offer. The offer needs be completed in the same session and all information required to complete the offer MUST be accurate. The majority of offers will credit your Swag Bucks account within 20 minutes. However, the estimated wait time varies from offer to offer. Some may take a few hours or a couple of days before final confirmation is received.

*Playing Games
Swagbucks recently released FREE Swagbucks Games… find a game you like, play for free AND you’ll be eligible to earn bonus Swag Bucks just for playing!! There are two ways to be rewarded for playing games (1) Play games for free and you will randomly earn from 1-5 Swag Bucks (2) Buy into tournaments where you risk a small amount of Swag Bucks for the chance to earn a large amount. Just login or register and click on the “Earn” tab, then in the drop down menu choose “Games”.

* Finding Swag Codes
Swag Codes are strings of alphanumeric text that you can apply for instant Swag Bucks. Swag Codes can appear anywhere, and at any time, throughout the Swag Bucks network including the Swagbucks newsletter, any Swag Bucks powered Search&Win Site; the Official Swag Bucks blog, Facebook Fan Page, Twitter page, Flickr page; and affiliated partner sites. Swag Codes can be redeemed by entering the codes into the Swag Codes box on your My Account page.

* Sharing Your Birthday
Be sure that you enter your birthday in the account details and you’ll snag 50 Swag Bucks on the big day!

How can I use my Swagbucks or what can I purchase?

Swag Bucks can be used to purchase apparel, kitchen items, electronics, gift cards and lots more in the Swag Store! My personal favorite rewards item is a $5 Amazon e-Card for only 450 Swag Bucks! Plus, for the month of September every time you snag an Amazon Gift Card from the Swag Store, you get a bonus $1 Amazon MP3 Promotional Credit (credit valid through October 31st). Sweet!

Other rewards include gift cards to Chili’s, Starbucks (another favorite!), Lowes, Target, Kmart, CVS, Red Robin, Dell, Lands’ End, and many more!

Happy Searching! 🙂

      Collin- please only allow my comment if you allow referral links- I just realized you may not! I love your site, it is such a great resource for my family!

  2. mom2five

    I love swagbucks too!! 🙂

  3. Heather

    I love Swagbucks! I saved all of my $5 Amazon.com gift cards last year and was able to buy my son the new Kindle Fire (selling for $199) for FREE for Christmas. And I still had enough to buy my husband an electric shavor for FREE.

    This year I have been saving them and just purchased a $200 Lego Set – that was only $150 on Amazon – for FREE using my saved Swag Bucks $5 Amazon.com gift cards.

    If you are on the fence about joining – don’t be!!!!! You will be pleased with what you can earn for little effort!

    If you use Swag Bucks, check out my FB page: facebook.com/SwagbucksOffersthatCredit. Super helpful community where everyone shares what offers/surveys/etc are working for them!

  5. Barb

    Seriously I dont understand why anyone buys higher giftcards than $5, for only 450 swagbucks you can stock up and its way cheaper than buying the $25 or $50 Amazon giftcards!

    • Pamela

      People buy the higher Amazon gift cards because they have a LOT of Swagbucks. Since Swagbucks only allows a user to purchase five $5 Amazon gift cards in a month, sometimes there is nothing left to do BUT to buy the $25, $50, $100, or $500 Amazon increment, since those can be bought in the same month. At the beginning of every month, I redeem for my five $5 Amazon gift cards. However I still have over 13,000 points in my account and earn more points every single day. I’m slowly accruing all of my extra Swagbucks and saving up for the $500 Amazon gift card! Believe it or not, this all came from my own hard work, as I have NO referrals, so if anyone would like to join under my link (if Collin is allowing our own personal referrals), it would be greatly appreciated. https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/PZarate

    • Betty

      If you earn more than enough points for the 5/$5 cards you are limited to each month then it makes perfect sense to work on a higher level card too! I get my five each month and then a $50 every couple of months with the extra points.

      Also, keeps your eyes open b/c tomorrow is a SB Treasure Hunt where you can earn up to 60 SB!!!

    I love swagbucks. Some people have complained about it in the past but just dont download the toolbar and search from their homepage and you don’t have to deal with the extra gadgets. I just preordered my ipod touch with my amazon gift cards which payed for half of it! Here is my referral, I would LOVE some help earning bucks!

    https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/abbykthrn

  9. Kate

    Just so you know, you DO NOT have to download the toolbar! I thought you did and resisted signing up for many years, but then found out you don’t! I only spend a few minutes every day doing searches, polls, surveys, etc, and make about $10 in Amazon giftcards a month. It’s not much, but every little bit helps out when you’re living on a teacher’s salary! If you’d like to use my link, that would really make my day! Thanks!

    I maybe one of a few but I hate swagbucks. Bogs down your computer and I can’t seem to get as many points as everyone, no matter what I do. I am so done with that site.

    • Sunny

      LOL I thought I was the only one! It reminds me of other reward programs from the early days where you have to search, search, search for point earning opportunities. I don’t do the referral thing (spamming your friends with crap is a fast way to lose friends) and other things I just didn’t qualify for. Quite annoying!

  11. Renee

    I do swagbucks and instead of saving the $5 Amazon ecards for Christmas like I did last year I now use them to purchase tv shows/movies since we got rid of cable. I get the giftcards for free and we are saving over $60 a month!

  12. Melissa R

    I love Swagbucks, too! I really don’t spend more than 5 min or so a day doing a couple daily things. If I have a few spare minutes, I’ll do a survey or task or something. Of course, the more you do, the faster you’ll earn points, but this works for me. I have NOT been able to figure out how to get referrals, though. I don’t have any at all. BOO. I’ve posted my link a few times to no avail. If anyone has any tips on getting referrals, I’d LOVE to hear them! Here’s my link: https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/CpnMoMo

  13. Erin

    I sort of agree with animity. I’ve gotten about $50 worth of Amazon gift cards with Swagbucks, so I keep it up, but it has totally slowed down my computer, especially when on Google.

  14. sd

    i only get about 20 at most swag bucks a day.. how do y’all get so much? hehe

    • kelly

      i know i dont get it. i really wanna get it tho lol

    • rebecca

      Whenever I print coupons from Coupons . com, I make sure to use their site’s link so I can get the 10 swagbuck points. If I’ve printed the coupons and they are getting close to the expiration date and I haven’t used them yet, I take them on my next shopping trip and leave them next to the item. My hope is it helps someone else out while it gives me those extra points too! 🙂

  15. us4royers

    I too am making bank on the amazon gift cards!! If you hold out for the $50 one it is the best value. Love it! I am fixing to get a carpet cleaner from money I earned on swag bucks and crowdtap.

    • Betty

      Actually the $5 AGCs are the best deal…

    • laura

      $100 GC are actually cheaper per $ than the $50 (but not as good as the $5 obviously)

  16. Ann

    Can you do swag bucks with an iPad?

    • Betty

      You can!! I earn a lot of my points from SBTV which I don’t think is as user friendly on the iPad as the PC but almost everything else is good. Do you have an Android device? If so you can earn a ton of points through SBTV mobile with very minimal effort. Unfortunately they don’t have a Apple app yet so I’m missing out on those points 🙁 Let me know if you have any other questions.

      If you’re planning to join please consider using my referral link! https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/bettyb1ue

    EVERYTHING now is points for this and points for that, how can we keep up with all!

  18. Amy

    I don’t know if I can post this here but if so…try Cash Crate which is very similar to SB except you get CASH! My link is https://www.cashcrate.com/4102626 if you want to check it out. I only do the free offers and easily make my gas money.

    • Amy

      Oh, and I’m doing it without any referrals

      • holly

        Thanks Amy now you have a referrral just signed up using your link it looks pretty fun cant wait to get started thanks again!! my new link ishttps://www.cashcrate.com/4102727 if any one else wants to check it out!!!

        • Amy

          Thank you!!! It’s pretty easy and something I do while watching tv in the evenings.

  19. Amanda

    I probably had to put in my birthday when I signed up, but just in case I didn’t, I’d like to make sure it’s on there, as it’s next week and I’d like 50 points! But I can’t figure out where in my settings it would be. Does anyone know?

  20. laura

    I love me some swagbucks! I’ve been on it for almost 3 years. So far this year, I have earned $625 in amazon gc. Swagbucks is paying for Christmas this year!

  21. Jen

    Ladies,
    I love hearing about your swag successes! I have never had such success, so if someone wanted to help a sista out…here is my link. Thanks coupon queens. Much love!
    https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Jenpie

  22. Jenna

    I have referred several people and they use swagbucks and earn points. I earned 1000 points from each of them but now when they earn swagbucks I don’t receive any points. Is there a limit you can earn from your referrals?

  23. Lindsey

    I love Swag Bucks! Swag Bucks are awarded randomly when you use their search engine. I typically win Swag Bucks 4 times a day (total points each day around 45). It only takes 450 points to get a free Amazon $5 gift card, so the points add up very fast. I’ve gotten $200 in Amazon gift cards just in the year that I’ve used Swag Bucks. This is a great way to get free gift cards; why not get free gift cards for searching the web like you normally do? Here’s my link if anyone wants to use it. I’d really appreciate it. https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/CuteLindsey86

  24. Kelly

    I love swagbucks!!! I am currently saving my points to buy Xmas presents at Amazon. I would appreciate it if you sign up with my referral link! https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Swtkel

    I’m saving up for Christmas this year with my swagbucks too. If anyone wants to sign up through my referral link, it’d be so great! 🙂 https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/MVAA

    I use Swagbucks but also Insta GC. It’s similar to Swagbucks, but you can cash out for as little as $1 and the gift cards are available instantly. I earned $471 in 2012 with this site alone. https://www.instagc.com/users/join/23151
