Shopkick: Possible FREE $2 Target Gift Card
Wow! If you’re a Shopkick user, you may have received a text from Target this morning with a link for a FREE $2 Target gift card to be loaded into your app. However, if you did not receive this text, it looks like all new and existing users may be able to follow the instructions below to possibly score the $2 gift card in their Shopkick app.
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
*First, head on over here and sign up for the Shopkick app (it’s FREE!). Go here for more details on how the Shopkick app works.
*After signing up, open the browser on your phone and type www.shopkick.com/targetsms into the address bar and click on “I have the Shopkick app” button.
*Next, enter your phone number in the box that you used to register your Shopkick account
*Afterwards, you should get a “Success!” message stating that your $2 Target gift card will be available the next time you visit a Target store and open the Shopkick app. That’s it!

I got this gift card and and tried to use it at Target. It would not scan and said it was invalid. I tried my husband’s from his shopkick app as well. Cashier even typed in the number several times. They wouldn’t take it. I got an email from Shopkick today. This is the email:
Hey there.
Turns out your Target GiftCard is valid online only. Please accept 600 kicks as an apology. Kiss & make up?

So apparently it can ONLY be used online. Hope that this clears things up for some people and also saves others some serious frustration.
I am a new Shopkick user. I used my $2 at Target tonight with no issues, in store, scanned right away…
I also received an email stating the GC was only valid online.

My husband and I both got the gift cards, and they scanned fine and we were about to get a big pack of diaper wipes refills for free! But today, we both got a message from Shopkick apologizing because the gift card is not valid, and we each got 500 kicks. But we already used the gift cards. Did this happen to anyone else?
I snagged this a few minutes ago. I heard that if you looked under “My Stuff” you can find a free $2 for Target, but I was not able to find it.

Every time that I’ve tried to use a Target Gift card by Shopkick it wont scan. Some Targets have told the reason that they don’t scan is because Target doesn’t except Shopkick…I’m confused because Hip2 keeps advertizing Shopkick for Target
I just used my $2 credit today. It worked for me in-store although the cashier was a little confused, I asked her to try scanning it and it worked immediately – took $2 off my total 🙂
