I went in yesterday with my two kids dressed up and they didnt know anything about it and when I went to show them the weekly ad, they went in the back and wouldnt come out…

    • Nikki

Gee, I’d suggest the district mgr. be enlightened as to their employees behavior.

    • Cristal Gibson

I have a question? how can u use the $5 coupon on the 19.oz bags when the bags are 15.0z ? the store people will say ” no u can’t use this coupon, it HAS To be a 19.oz or larger.

      • Monica

The Kit-Kat, Whoppers, and Milk Duds bags are made by Hershey and they are 22 ounces and $5 this week, get $5 ECB WYB $15.

  2. Alea

My store insisted on ringing up my goody bags and charging me sales tax for them. We had to wait a good 10 minutes for them to take our photo too even though they werent busy. Wasn’t too impressed.

    • cara

it was supposed to be free and they charged me 1.99 plus tax for each kid! going back….sigh!

  3. Spacecasegirl

    Awesome thanks Collin!

  4. Sarah

I was impressed with the event (I did call first to check). My daughter and I were the first ones through and she got a treat, a picture, the Halloween pack and a leftover back to school pack. I am definitely adding this to our annual local Halloween events, thanks for telling me about it 🙂

  5. Krissy

That’s hilarious to pair candy and oral care together;?) A dentist’s dream!

    • Shayla

I agree, I figure as long as they are eating all these sweets they need the toothbrushes. Was sad that they did away with the CVS kids toothbrushes. My kids loved them and they were so durable.

  6. tammi

This was the second year that we went to it and love it! I shop at CVS regularly so they already know me and my kids and they’re always so nice about it!

  7. Leta

Our cvs manager said they are doing this again on the 28th.

  8. Sarah

I have a question…Since I have 2 kids and got double the coupons in the halloween goody bags..can I use all of them?

    • misty

Yes, I got two bags of candy for free. The good candy too (Almond Joy, Kit Kat)! And the pics turned out great.

    • Shayla

It doesn’t state one per customer. Plus, I think that the $5 bags are included in the $5 ECB when you spend $15….my calculations are that I can use my (2) $5 store coupons plus (1) $1 manufacturer coupon to get (3) bags at $4 and get $5 ECB back. Plus, their CVS batteries are BOGO this week so you can use the $2 off coupon from the pack as well to score a great deal on batteries. I am a frequent CVS shopper and they were so nice to my kiddos yesterday, even though was sad that it wasn’t my regular cashiers =)

      • Melissa

lol I had the same thought. I had three kids so I got three coupons. Pay 320 get ten ebc back great deal for candy. But if you get the bags that are on sale for $9 the ounce size is upto 55 ounces so I will check that out tonight

        • squarejellybean

So I checked my cvs today and took all 3 kids today, they each got a goody bag…I got ( 3 ) 24.44 oz bags of kit kat, milk dud, whopper mix for free and got the 5EB…. now I dont have to buy halloween candy………. thanks so much for posting this 🙂

      • Sarah

        Thank you 🙂

  9. avigail

how many cvs $1/1 oral care item can i print?

  10. C

Omg I think that is so rude. I agree with Nikki. Definitely call district manager to report this kind of behavior. I’m sorry that happened to you and your kids.

    • C

This is in reply to sherry post. Sorry, not sure why its down here.

      • fran

        C,
For your comment to be right under Sherry’s comment, you need to click “reply” under her comment. You probably clicked “your comment here:” and that starts a new comment. I do that sometimes too! 😉

  11. Darleen

I took my daughter yesterday and all they did was take her picture and gave her a candy:(

    • Julie

It did state “while supplies last.” Maybe they ran out?

      • Darleen DeSalvatore

I doubt it as I was there around 1:30 pm and it did not appear that they were even busy.

  12. Katie

Just returned from CVS where they gave me 3 (!) bags – one for each of my kiddos. 🙂 BUT, I can’t seem to find the candy bags that are at least 19 oz (as per the coupon) that are also ringing up $5. I’d love to get these to donate to our church Fall Festival! ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM??
    Thanks!
    Katie

    • Kate

I was having that problem but finally found them at a different store. The ones that worked for me are the Reese’s and KitKat’s, they’re 19.5oz and say “Jumbo Bag” in the top left hand corner. They both rang up at $5 and count toward the extrabucks deal.

  13. Beth

Both my daughters were with me yesterday at CVS even though it was about 3 pm maybe it was over by then because it didn’t look like they’d had an kind of event going on. We didn’t think to ask & the cashiers didn’t mention anything either. I ran by a 2 different CVS’s today looking for the gum & Nexxus products that were on sale. I asked if they had any goodie bags left at both stores & was told at the 1st store they were saving them for Halloween. The cashier at the 2nd store had no idea what I was talking about.

  14. julie

They let me use 2 coupons, I was able to get 2 of the $5 bags that had the Whoppers, milk Duds, and Kit Kat and 5 Cokes for free after the $5 EB. The smaller bags with the Hershey bars are too small for the coupon requirements. What an awesome bonus, I’ve been planning my trip since yesterday!

  15. Nana

My CVS was very nice the set up everything and my 2 kids got pictures and goody bag for eac kid, but I did buy 2 bags of M&M as CVS requested on their ad for OOP $3 ( $1 off CVS Q, $1 off 2 M Q and 1ECB ^_^. Today I will go try Shayla’s suggestion. Thanks to all of you.

  16. Maureen

My kids weren’t with me but I was at CVS around 3:00 yesterday and asked if they had many kids – only one group of 3. They were so nice to give me 2 goody bags for my kids – who loved the candy and little toys. The reflective stickers will be great for Halloween. I loved the coupons! I got a halloween bag of kit kats, whoppers and milk duds for free after the $5 coupon and it was part of the buy $15 get $5 – Ya gotta love CVS! The employees were also having fun taking pictures of each other!

  17. christina

Thank you for posting this! I hadn’t thought about checking for extras today (we couldn’t go yesterday) and one of my 2 CVS’s had some! Thanks!

  18. Bethany

Thank you for posting about this! My family was sick yesterday so I never made it out to buy a newspaper and didn’t browse any online ads. I called today and they had a ton at my store. They gave one to each of my kids even though they weren’t dressed up and we didn’t buy anything. I then bought 2 bags of candy and only paid $.25 tax per bag!! Thank you soooo much!

  19. kristen

so bummed yesterday!!! made the boys rush over there so we could do the picture but most of all get the coupons!! last year they were really good. so i asked if they had coupons this year and the lady said they weren’t even sent anything to hang out!! they were irritated that they had to put together their own bags. pretty lame too. two little pieces of candy and that’s it.

  20. Monica

My CVS store manager gave me 4 bags since I have 4 children. The combo bags of Kit-Kats, Whoppers, and Milk Duds are 22 oz and qualify for the $5 coupon (the regular Hershey bar bags are 15 oz only). The limit on the Hershey deal (Spend $15 get $5 ECBs) is at least 3, I got my $5 ECBs twice and I have not reached the limit yet.

  21. moon

yesterday i went to store with my daughter all dressed up.they took her photo and gave her goody bag,i really liked it and my daughter was very happy too.i got $5 off coupon but that size hersheys bags are $9 at my store each….and yes if we buy $15 we get $5 ecb.which bags are $5 which makes them free…….?

  22. a

I was just in cvs and the cashier knew I had kids and asked how many. I have three they are 14, 10 and almost 2 so she gave me 3 goody bags. I hope they still have the $5 bags. i want to get three and give them to my grandma. She is handing out candy ( i do not do this since we live on a busy street and hardly have any kids in the neighborhood). That way she can hand out candy and not run out. Things are tight for her since my grandpa has been in a nursing home for over a yr. I love helping my family with my couponing. The know I get a lot of free things. Thanks Collin for letting us know about this.

  23. marnie

I went to my cvs and the manager wanted to charge me $1.99 for each. I was a little bugged by. Oh well better luck next time

    • cara

it was supposed to be free and they charged me 1.99 plus tax for each kid! going back….sigh!

      • mel

the $1.99 I think is the price for the photo. Inside the goodie bag is the coupon for the Free photo, which the cashier was supposed to take it out and scan. At least thats how it was last year (didn’t get a chance to go this year)

        • Tina in east Texas

Yes, that is the way they did it this time, too.

          • angela

Yes, we were charged the 1.99 and then the cashier took out the coupon for us and scanned it making it free. From the comments, it seems like not all the employees are given good information ahead of time.

  24. rosana

came back from cvs got the bag of candy and toothbrush paid 0.38

  25. SlinnAnnna

I went to two C.V.S stores and there was nothing going on. My son was so disappointed.

  26. Tina in east Texas

Collin, thanks so much for posting about the Hershey $5 bags! I didn’t realize those were on sale and could go with that particular coupon. It really pays to cultivate a relationship with your store manager and other staff. I took my youngest daughter to the Halloween ‘party’ on Sunday and we got one goody bag, free photo, etc.Yesterday I called them to ask if they had any of those goody bags left over and the manager said he had two and would save them for me! I was able to use the enclosed coupons to buy three bags of Hershey candy and get $5 EB as well. Very exciting, as I’m collecting candy from everywhere I can for my church’s Trunk or Treat. 🙂

  27. Nana

Thank you so much for the candy tips, I got mine today with all other stuff and I’m getting buy $50 save $10 CVS coupon that help a lot, I paid about OOP $8 and got $16 ECB. Ya.

  28. Audrey

Yea! I picked my Free Candy today! I luv hip to save!

  29. Stephanie

I couldn’t find the $5 bags of candy at my store and only the 2/$6 bags were even tagged. The manager was nice and helped me look but finally told me she would give me the bags I picked out for $5 regardless of the price. They ended up ringing up at $9 and the cashier manually entered the $5 amount. I used the $5 CVS coupon and just a $1 MF coupon because I could not find the rest of my candy coupons. My store is really good about giving cash back if I take them the coupons and my receipt though, so I’m not worried. I ended up finding them when I got home. Anyway, I paid $9 + tax (about 80 cents or so) and got back a $5 ECB. That makes each bag (and they were pretty big bags) only $1.60 each including tax. Once I take my coupons and receipt back I will get $2 back, making each bag just $0.93 each! I used them to pass out at Trunk or Treat tonight and still have about 2 bags left that I will use to pass out on Halloween.

Thank you Collin for running this website! You have helped me save SO much! I just turned 21 and have a 9 month old son. I scooped up the Enfamil bottles at both of my local CVS stores and am going to use them (my son scarfed them down soooo fast, good thing I had $4 off checks that made them $1.54 per box of 8 bottles!) to fill with treats for my husband’s coworkers. The bottles are squat but roomy and really cute once I got the label off and scrubbed the glue away with goo gone and a sponge. They are going to be so cute! I just need to put ribbon or something on the liquid markers that are on both sides of each bottle. I have more than 60 of these glass bottles and they are going to make cute gifts once they are all put together. I’m putting some of the free Lindt chocolate in them too. So excited!
