What do YOU do with all that Candy Corn?!
This Hip2Save.com Deal was hand-posted on Friday, October 26th, 2012 at 9:54 am.

Have you accumulated a large stash of candy corn recently?! If so, check out this creative idea submitted by reader, Christine…
What to do with all those FREE bags of candy corn and candy pumpkins that were free at Rite Aid a few weeks back? Hey, how about making little goody bags! I simply used snack baggies and printed off some tags that said “Pumpkin Teeth and Pumpkin Poop.” I divided out the candy and stapled the folded tag to the bag. I also had a bag of spider rings I got for 25 cents on clearance last year…so I stapled those on too. I am handing these out to my kids’ sports teams tomorrow!
Do you have any creative ideas for how to make use of all your Halloween Candy? If so, share your ideas with us below!

Janelle says:
That is so cute! If it’s not chocolate or gummy it doesn’t go over very good at our house but an adorable idea!
Shanshan says:
We don’t eat candy corn either but lots of kids do like them. Funny tag made me laugh!

I mix miy candy corn with peanut to make it taste like Paydays. YUM!!!
Tammi says:
Spanish peanuts with candy corn is a tradition at our house!
Kitty says:
I totally do that too! The best ratio is 2 peanuts to 1 candy corn lol
Lisa K. says:
That’s too cute! I love the pumpkin poop part!
What I do with Candy Corn is mix it with dry roasted peanuts for an easy, yummy snack mix that tastes like a payday candy bar. Just be careful if you try it because it’s VERY addictive.
Steph says:
I add m&m’s to this also
Jean says:
Cute idea! I heard that peanuts and candy corn are an amazing combination, and I am so craving some sweets right now.

Tammy says:
Peanuts + Candy Corn..we call it Salted Nut Roll..it’s pretty delicious
KB says:
I saw a recipe that uses candy corn to make homemade butterfingers. You can also use it as filler in a hurricane vase with a pillar candle!

Erin says:
I did it last year. It doesn’t take long at all. The only problem is the candy corn began to ooze, so we had to toss it.
Em says:
I made this last year too! I watched a Halloween movie while working on it and finished before the movie ended! I wrapped the wreath in black duct tape and then hot glued the pieces on individually one row at a time. I’m using it again this year! I stored it double wrapped in a trash bag in one of those plastic wreath holders.
Amy says:
off topic- but I got one of my bags from the kellogg’s promotion yesterday!! It was the Mike one, hopefully the other two will come today! =)
Lisa says:
I was quite annoyed, I JUST mailed off for my bag, and then stopped at the grocery store, my store, Hy-Vee in Kansas City, has a display and you get one instantly when you buy 2 Kellogg’s cereal. I know it’s just the cost of a stamp, but still annoyed.
Pam says:
I got my second one the next day. They are so darn cute!
Alexi says:
Great idea! My son’s birthday is at the end of the month, yes he’s my pumpkin! And I always use Halloween candy for his candy bags for the guests! This is a great use of ALL the candy corn I’ve accumulated recently with all the great deals out there! This gets a HUGE thumbs up! And everyone here seems to like peanuts and candy corn… I’m SO trying it and blaming ALL YOU GUYS if/WHEN my butt gets bigger =)
fran says:
LOL!

I liked it.
Katie says:
I liked it too.
Heather says:
If you’re not a fan of candy corn but find yourselfs with some free bags, you could fill the bottom of glass candle holder and set a candle on top for a cute decoration!
Nikki says:
Yep, and in the same theme-take some gorgeous red cranberries during the Christmas holidays-place a white candle in your hurricane sconce-then fill the sides with cranberries. Simple elegance. (And they last quite a while)
amyjorlando says:
I currently have a white pillar candle in a vase with the candy corn around it. I am planning on replacing the candy corn with peppermints for Christmas. Easy decorating!
Kari says:
I use it in hurricane jars for decoration. I save it and reuse it, it lasts for years. Just make sure it’s up somewhere the kids can’t reach it.
Nikki says:
I’ve used some to mark the pictures on cards for Halloween Bingo.
We also fill a jar with them and folks can guess the amount for a fab gift bag!
statenislandmoms says:
Love the idea, but my daughter’s school shot it down for the fair, figured the kids would tease each other about eating “poop”
Nancy says:
My son’s teacher requested candy corn to use as markers for BINGO at their Halloween party!
Sarah says:
We take clear plastic gloves, the kind with no powder coating…. You drop a candy corn into each finger to look like a finger nail… Then fill the glove with popped popcorn and tie off the end with a ribbon. Last but not least slid a spider ring on to the ring finger, and you have perfect Halloween Hands. They were my favorite to bring to school when I was young and now I love making them for my daughters day care.
Sarah says:
Just a helpful tip, please make sure you use latex free gloves to do this. If someone has a latex allergy and doesn’t know it, eating something that was stored in a latex glove could potentially cause a severe reaction. I have a severe latex allergy and something like this could cause me to have a horrible allergic reaction.
MommySpendsLess says:
All of you that make cute things like this (and the Halloween Hands, etc.) – the schools and daycares let you bring in things that aren’t pre-packaged for distribution? My daughter’s 3yo so I’m doing recon for when she starts school.
Sarah says:
My daughters daycare will, but it is a smaller mom owned daycare and tend to has less strict rules.
k says:
a lot of schools will only let you bring in prepackaged things. BUT if you offer to bring in (prepackaged) supplies and do the activity, that’s ok. So if you brought in gloves, candy corn, and prepackaged popcorn the kids could each make their own (and a lot of teachers would love parents to offer things like this!)
(but don’t just tell the teacher to do your idea and give her the materials unless she wants to! Offer to show up and help!)
Gax says:
I think the real question is….which are the pumpkin teeth, and which are the pumpkin poop? lol!
Ketsy says:
Has anyone here done the spider web with the pretzels and melted chocolate? This is what I am doing for next week’s snack. I have a few questions; will they melt? lol sounds dumb but really by the time i make it to school and the classroom, will these be a mess or can they hold a bit. Also, do you put one on top of the other or a layer of wax paper on top etc. Can these be refrigerated from the night before or from morning to afternoon without making the pretzel soggy, etc.? TIA
luluqs says:
I have that question – too my son wants to make spider cup cakes and user either pretzle stick or pocky sticks broken in half and held together with chocolate.. what kinda of chocolate will hold up like that? I am sure now.. hopefully some one has some input
Ketsy says:
I tried several. Its becomes pricey. The best chocolate is the pellets used for the fountain because they harden and hold together more. You can probably find them at walmart and there may be off brands too. I’m getting them at Joanns with a coupon.
luluqs says:
thank you! i’ll be of looking for some this weekend.
julman says:
these are really cute! the issue for me was that the webs would break if you weren’t careful. i had no problem with the chocolate melting (i used the little discs that kesty mentioned). they don’t get soggy (might get stale if you didn’t put in a baggie or tupperware overnight).
Steph says:
I made these for a party last weekend–they were so cute and not very difficult! I used a Hershey kiss with the point cut off for the spider body. Problem was, with my group anyway, they were a source of instant tears. They are so fragile that when the kids picked them up, they crumbled in their hands or broke all over the floor. Super cute for a decoration, but for the younger set (I’d say 7 and under), these are just a little too frustrating for them to eat.
Sarah says:
We made a mix with peanuts, m&ms, and candy corn/pumpkins over the weekend. It only lasted a few hours. It was to.die.for.
Becky says:
We mix a bag of candy corn with a bag of bugles. It’s a sweet/salty trailmix.
shannon says:
our church has a float in the Christmas parade-any leftovers gets thrown off that float!
Em says:
In a baggie like this or what? Seems like a lot of work, hehe
Kristi S. says:
There was a thing on pintrest where you use the candy corn for noses on a mini powdered donut to make a snowman for winter.
Pam says:
I still have several bags of Chex that were a good deal so I am going to mix my candy corn with that!
Jen R. says:
We mix a handful into our popcorn when we have a family movie night. The sweet/salty combination is sooooo yummy!
Sandy says:
