I feel like a total carseat snob – I immediately looked to see if it had armrests, a cupholder, any “extras”. Geez! It’s a carseat!

  • Robin says:

Britax makes great car seats and has awesome customer service. We have the Britax Traveller Plus for my daughter and love it! So well worth the investment. They are built to last!

  • Heather says:

Thanks for the post, I only buy Britax car seats they are so comfy and safe you just can not beat it! Plus with it being the Marathon you basically only need one car seat from 20 pounds on… That makes it an even better deal to me.

…unless you have a tall child. Generally, the Britax seats shoulder strap slots just arent that high compared to others(even some less expensive ones) on the market and since most kids out grow seats by height before weight, it’s a very important feature to consider about your seat and your child when buying.

ps: to all who are wondering, all seats pass the same safety tests so for all we know, the $40 ones are safer than the $300 ones…the rankings are not published anywhere so these are not necessarily safer than any/all others.

The height was an issue for us as well. We ended up with two graco nautilus for our younger kiddos, which go to a height of 52 inches with the harness, and 57 inches without. The britax only went to 49 inches in height, which was a huge issue for our first born! We were scrambling to buy him yet another carseat when he suddenly grew too tall for his britax, and I was serious about only buying a baby carseat and a “big kid” carseat after the many seats my oldest went through!!

Thanks for the feedback Mat and Emily. I have an almost 3 year old so she is still in her marathon but from your posts it might not be for long. I think I will return this one back to Target when it comes and get a bigger one for the 3 year old and pass the marathon to my baby instead when she is ready. I may even stray from my sacred Britax! LOL

Cool thing that we found out – Toys R Us let us try the seats in my car! An associate worked with us for over two hours trying seats in our van before finding the perfect fit. They let me install the seat in various locations, let my kids sit in it, it was just awesome. The ones I loved at first didn’t fit in my van at all!

Can someone teach me how to shop thru shopathome?

    • Jennifer says:

      1. Go to shopathome and sign up for an account
      2. Use the search box to find the store you’re looking for
      3. Click on the “shop now” button to take you to the store’s website
      4. Do your shopping
      5. Wait 30 days for your cash to show up in your account
      6. When you have $20 accumulated and you have verified your address, they will send you the check. Checks are sent out 2 months from the end of the month in which you made the purchases or reached the $20 threshold. For example, if you reached $20 cash back by the end of November, your check would be mailed by the end of January.
