Walgreens: Possibly FREE L’Oreal Paris Hair Care Item (with a Golden Ticket)
While you’re shopping at Walgreens this week, snagging the great weekly deals I posted about here, check out this freebie you may be able to score. Each Walgreen’s store is giving away a Golden Ticket to the first customer to ask for it, which is valid for a new L’Oreal Paris hair care item ($6.99 value!), valid from 12/15 – 1/15/13.
Keep in mind that this offer began on 11/4, but if nobody at your local Walgreen’s has asked for it yet, they may still have it! If they’re not sure about it, you may want to mention that the ticket would have been addressed to the Senior Cosmetic associate. Also, check out the following email I received from reader, Aimee, regarding this promo:
I was looking through the Walgreens Holiday magazine today (has a picture of Taylor Swift on the front) and toward the back (page 25) there was a little ad stating that on November 4th, Walgreens would be giving away a Golden Ticket to the first Walgreens customer that asked for it. The ticket is a coupon for a new L’Oreal Paris haircare item worth $6.99 and valid from December 15th-January 15th 2013. I decided to try after work today, and sure enough, my Walgreens still had the ticket! This was obviously not promoted very much by Walgreens. I then told a friend about it and she went to her local Walgreens in a different town and she also got the ticket! Also, be sure to mention to the Cosmetic person or manager that the ticket would have been addressed to the Senior Cosmetic associate.

I GOT IT!!!!!!
I just went to the Walgreens in my town and none of the associates or managers knew what I was talking about. When I showed them the ad in the mag, one told me it says Nov 4th and today is the 6th and that’s why they didnt know about it. I left feeling like I didn’t ask the right person. I’m going to go by there tomorrow and talk to the associate I know has worked there at least 11 years. If anyone knows, I have a good feeling it’s going to be her:)

is this offer valid at Duane Reade stores as well?

No one in the south Huntsville store has any idea about this.
omg! I have three walgreens in my town and no one has picked up the golden tickets. I am not gonna get them all because I don’t want to be greedy be I will definately help my loved ones out by dropping a bug in there ears
I showed the manager at walgreens the item. She didn’t know about it and said I would have had to have asked for it on sunday, Nov.4.
My manager said he had no idea, he didn’t see it and looked around for it. He said if it pops up he will hold it for me

I’m so glad some of you are getting these! The first WAGS I went to I got lucky because the Senior Cosmetics adviser was there and actually knew what I was talking about. She said she had been waiting for someone to claim it. Just so you know, the ticket comes with a list of instructions for the store, and no where on it does it state that it had to be claimed on the 4th. They probably just had no idea what or where it was. It comes in a big gold envelope and is addressed to either the manager, to give to the Senior Cosmetics associate or just to the Senior Cosmetics associate.
I work at Wags and we had NO idea when the first person came to ask about it. I seriously think corporate forgot about their own contest, because it was not promoted nor even mentioned in any of our meetings. Glad the lady who wanted it was nice and understanding, because we had no clue and therefore it’s out of our hands until they actually send us the darn ticket…we took her info down and she’ll be getting a call once it’s in.

Just asked for one at my store in Ohio. They had no clue what I was talking about. I showed her the ad in their booklet and she went “checking” with the store manager. She came back saying “they gave away all the golden tickets on Saturday”. I thought it was funny since it started Sunday and ther was only one per store!
I just got mine and only the Senior Cosmetics adviser knew about it. Everyone else in the store had no clue about it.
Thank you so much for this post! I got it! I went to my nearest Walgreens (1/2 mile away) and I was told it was claimed. The associate did not look so sure though :/ so I went to another Walgreens about 2 miles away and the manager was very helpful. I am so glad he knew what I was asking for.

Love this! Just got mine. Thought I would stop by after class and I had to ask the senior cosmetics staff but everyone else wasn’t sure what it was but still very helpful.
I just went and claimed mine! My store as well had no idea but were super nice. The cosmetic associate went out back and came back with the box of promotional items relating to the promotion and the manager. The manager said he was happy to find out that I was the “couponer with a question” ^_^ He happily handed me my golden ticket and two of everything else from the box! I got:

When I picked mine up, I was surprised to see the cashier pull out a large shoebox filled with stacks of cosmetic coupons! I was like, soooo…how do I get some of those? She said if there was something specific I was looking for or shopping for, she could tell me if she had any coupons for it. I was a bit dissapointed she wasn’t as free with her stash as you experienced. I bet all those coupons go to waste and expire at my store 🙁

The SCM nodded and got a big smile as soon as I asked her about it. Said she was surprised no one had picked it up yet. woohoo! I got one too. Went on my lunch break to grab the Dove+Men Bodywash deal (my son loves this!) and I mentioned the Golden Ticket to the BA, and she got a huge smile on her face and said she had been waiting all week for someone to ask about it…they had a contest to see who would be the lucky one to give it out. LOL. So glad you posted this. I had saw it earlier in the week but figured someone would have come in already and asked about it.
They knew nothing about it at my store either. But everyone was happy to look for it and finally found it–they seemed just as excited for me as I was..thanks!!

I was able to get the Golden Ticket at my local Walgreen’s! 🙂 I went to the associate that was working in the cosmetic area and she had to look for the ticket, but she found it after looking a few minutes. She was super nice and I thanked her for taking the time to look!

Thanks for posting about this. I saw it in the ad on Sunday and figured it was already claimed. I am having a super difficulty pregnancy and can’t get out much, but was feeling a tad bit better today and headed to Walgreens to pick up my free collage. The Beauty Advisor was super excited that someone had asked for it. I have been missing most of the deals that get posted lately because I can’t get out, so this was a really nice surprise to receive the “golden ticket”!

Got it! At a SUPER busy store across from my office building (in a major metro area!) the cosmetics people knew what I was talking about, but it did take them a few minutes to find it. It was funny… they were whispering “how did she know??” haha. Thanks, Collin.
I am the head beauty advisor at my local Walgreens. The ticket was part of the Saturdate for 11/4. There should have been not only a box with coupons and samples but a separate UPS envelope with the golden ticket. Hopefully that will help some of you be able to get the ticket if it hasn’t been claimed. Watch for the Saturdates. There are always samples and coupons. With the instore monthly Loreal coupon and the ones in the Saturdate box I saved so many of my regulars a ton of money. The Loreal Lumi foundation, primer, and BB cream as well as the 24 hour volumous mascara each have $1 off coupons. Combine that with the $1 off in the montly coupon book and the B1G1 50% off sale and you can get these expensive cosmetics pretty cheap. Normally the foundation is $12.99, with the sale and combined coupons you can get 2 for $15.98 (depending on tax rates). 🙂 Always ask about Saturdates,the deals are better and there are samples and coupons galore. Audra what what is a Saturdate? Would I just ask the beauty consaltant for coupons & maybe samples?
The Beauty advisor should always have coupons and/or samples. We get them from the manufacturers. I keep a coupon box under the cosmetics counter as well as a big sample box. Saturdates are manufacture sponsored special deal/promotion dates. Usually there are samples and coupons that go along with deals for points or sale items. The Beauty advisor should be able to tell you about any upcoming Saturdates. The next one is this Saturday 11/10 for Gillette. Hopefully I can help clear up some of the confusion. 🙂
Got mine too! The clerk had no idea what I was talking about and the beauty advisor was gone. She asked the manager and he also had no idea. She searched through the cabinet and pulled out an unopened package and there was the golden ticket! I contained my excitement, but I am usually never the first person to get to these types of things!

i got one too!, the beauty adviser knew what it was but couldn’t find it, she then asked the manager and he said maybe it had be given away, so he call one of the girls that had gone home and she said that it was under the register, now there were five people looking for it but still couldn;t find it, finally the manager made another call and this time the person he called said look in the cabinets under the register and low and behold they found it, i was so surprise that i got it, they were great for spending so much time looking for it,,thanks guys!!

I was able to get it yesterday although the Senior Cosmetics associate didn’t know what it was, she looked and found the envelope that no one had opened.

Thanks for posting this! I was at Wags getting prescriptions and thought “what the hey” and tried it. They had to get the Cosmetics counter employee and she knew exactly what it was, and had been asking her staff since 11/4 if anyone had asked yet…and I got it, so cool. She was so happy to give it away, and even said so when she passed me later in the store. She commented how it was very “Willy Wonka” looking, which it is!
I won today! I asked about it, no one knew anything, and told me to come back next week – I had them take my # and check into it, and the Mgr just called me and said they found it- be persistant- it might make you a winner !
I got a Golden Ticket!!!! Yesterday evening, I went to the beauty counter and inquired about the Golden Ticket. The Junior Beauty Advisor had no clue about the ticket but was eager and excited to find out about this “ticket mystery” and took my name and number. Received a cheerful call this morning that the “mystery has been solved”. Took a bit of looking, but the Senior Beauty Advisor found it and it is mine to claim since I was the first to inquire about it. Whoo Hoo!
I checked yesterday at the store near my house and was told that everyone was asking about it, but they hadn’t received it. I called and spoke with the cosmetics lady this morning and she had it, I hurried over there and got it yay!!!
I got one today & then told my brother’s best friend to stop at the first wags he saw & just ask.. he got one too .. lol
My store said I had to ask for it on the 4th so they wouldn’t give it to me but I was the first to ask for it the ad in book says if u ask for it on the 4th so what can I do?
