QualiTy?
they are small but they are cast iron… if you know how to take care of cast iron pans this is a good deal
Depends on where they are manufactured. If in China, you may want to do a quick search on why it’s not a good idea to buy any cast iron other than American made…
I looked through the reviews and someone said they’re made in China
You had my curious so I did a google search and found this: “Cast iron will tend to rust, so it needs to be “seasoned” with oil before it is used. If you buy new cast iron, don’t buy “preseasoned.” Cast iron pans made in China are seasoned with paint that chips off into food. Stick with made-in-the-USA Lodge brand.”

“paint that chips off into food” – not good.

That’s a big problem with web sales. It’s much harder to find out where an item was made.
says 17.99 now
duh, that is what it was.
after entering the coupon code it should lower the price at the check out
Thanks Collin! I have been wanting a cast iron frying pan.
I will NOT buy anything that has to do with food consumption that is made in china…this includes canned food goods and cooking items…if they poison dogs and infants in their own country then they definitely don’t care about doing the same in other countries.
I’m with ya 100%
most canned food is made in usa.
I am a new immigrant from Asia, but I support Made in USA items because in this country, workers are treated fairly and there really is quality control – things which are unheard of in China.
At that price for cast iron I am concerned about quality and purity. Cheap cast iron pans just burn everything with uneven heating. My 2 cents for what its worth.
I’m all about getting a good deal, but I really do recommend Lodge brand cast iron. if you treat your cast iron right, it will last your whole life. So you can afford to spend a little more for the quality because it will pay dividends in the end. I own several Lodge cast iron skillets and dutch ovens one of which was my grandmother’s.
Right, I have tons of cast iron & most all of it is Lodge, except for some older American pieces. I LOVE Lodge cast iron. It is a bit more difficult to season that the older American cast iron like Griswold & Wagner, but still very good.
Sears does carry Lodge cast iron dutch ovens (and skillets I believe). The code works on them as well as long as it is Sears ๐
so – this is old and off topic but can cast iron really be used on glass top stoves? I always heard no, but I really would love to use them…
