I have the game and use the balance board. Not sure if it’s required but wouldn’t be much fun without it.

I don’t think it would be fun at all without the balance board. You need the board to actually play the game if its anything like wii sports skiing. If you have the balance board then I’d say get it because it would be really fun, like wii sports.
