Just an FYI, the last time I tried using the $1/4 coupon, the registers at DG would not accept the coupon, and the clerk had to manually adjust each can by .25

You can price match at Walmart too!

Totally forgot to add this to the post. Thanks for the reminder! ๐Ÿ™‚

I do not get the DG add. Will a printed version work? I’m hoping to find it on line somewhere. Or maybe use my phone

        • J

You don’t need an ad to price match.

I still have the ipq that were on red plum a few weeks ago! Time to stick up!

    • Shanna

LOL! I can just see it…This is a stick up! Give me all your canned goods and no one gets hurt!

      • Shanna

LOL! The coupons are our guns!

I went to the dollar tree yesterday and they were 79 cents. So I didn’t get them. Glad I waited. Our food storage on green beans and corn is low. Gotta stock up!!! But I only have 3 q’s :(. That’s 12 cans though. Not bad.

Dollar Tree? The sale is at Dollar General.

  5. Misty

We have a Nichols here that will double coupons and price match. Super excited for this deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told at my Walmart they won’t match Dollar General because it’s considered a discount store already so it’s not a direct competitor to Walmart. So if you can price match at your’s then you’re lucky!

    • Susie

My Walmart has stopped matching several places too.

      • MKays

That’s crazy, they should be price matching any competitors ad. I would email their corporate office and verify that they are supposed to be letting you price match, print off the response and ‘politely’ bring it in along with a copy of their policy and talk to a Manager. Their policy only excludes sales that are ‘closeout’ or ‘going out of business’, not other ‘discount’ stores!

  7. amelia

    Walmart is a discount store.

Family Dollar has Libby’s can vegetables on sale until the 21th 2 for $1.00.

Everytime I go to get the sale veggies at DG they give me a hard time. Last time they said I could only use one coupon per purchase. I told them I have 4 purchases of 4 and they still gave me a hard time. It is per purchase of 4 right not per 1 coupon per person right?

    • Shanna

You are correct, it reads per purchase.

Thanks Collin! What a great deal!

I tried to price match a product at my Walmart yesterday, and I was told I couldn’t use a coupon with a price match? They told me it was stacking, but it’s not like I was using two coupons? So if I tried to do this, I wouldn’t be able to use the coupon. Ugh. Is this the same at every Walmart?

    • Sarah

They are totally wrong!! I price match and use coupons at my Walmart all the time, in fact I was there last night price matching Walgreens ad (Walgreens was out of stock of what I needed) and using coupons on those items. I would call corporate!!

  12. Jolene

If you have a berkot’s nesr you they are .38ยข each… So only .13ยข/can ๐Ÿ™‚

I used my printables and it was a pain. I got 8 cans and neither of my printed coupons would scan. They finally found a newspaper copy that had been used, it scanned once but wouldn’t scan again. They ended up manually having to take off $.45, $.45 & $.10.

  14. Kimberly

I was told today I could only use 1 coupon because it says limit 1 coupon per purchase on the coupon. This isn’t right is it? Then the computer wouldn’t take my debit card they even rebooted the register. I left with none and was there what seemed like forever. 5 cents more I think i’ll just go to my Food city store . What a day ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Jennifer

I have had the same problem in the past. Something about their computer won’t “allow” more than one “like” coupon. Yes, it’s a pain, but just have your .80 cents ready and ring them up separately and it’s no problem other than a little more time consuming. HTH

      • Kimberly

Thanks I’ll try that , for the price its worth the trouble. ๐Ÿ™‚

Does any one know if this is regional? I don’t see it in my paper in Mississippi.

  16. shoesofiron

I read in another blog that if you have the DG cashier ring 4 cans, scan the coupon; ring 4 cans, scan another coupon, etc., that it will work. Haven’t actually tried it myself. I will have my coupons all together today.

    • Tiffany

I work at DG and if a coupon is like $1 off 4, or $1 off 2 then yes. Have them scan 2 or 4 then the coupon. The register will not recognize more then one coupon if they are all scanned at the end if the coupons are for multiples. I hope this makes sense.

    • Kimberly

Thanks a bunch I done this today and it worked . The cashier even thanked me for showing her. ๐Ÿ™‚
