Beware of the Black Friday Hype
There are a ton of great deals to be had on Black Friday. However, as I mentioned in my Black Friday Shopping Tips post (#6), be sure the deals you snag are actually great deals. Here are 2 examples of deals that may not be the best deal you can get…
New Kindle Paperwhite eReader $119
This is the regular price for this product.
Nikon Coolpix S3300 $99.99
This camera is priced at only $89 on Amazon.com, so I wouldn’t consider this a good deal. It does come with a free 8GB SD card, which you can find for as low as $5.98 on Amazon. So even with the free card, you can still get it cheaper elsewhere.

We love you Collin!! You rock! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks Collin for posting these deals. I will skip staples this year. They normally send better deals to my email.
I’m wondering, can you buy these “black friday deals” online and submit for rebates?
if i use my staples rewards from ink on the batteries do I then get the staples rewards for them? I know we used to but have they changed?
No, you can only earn rewards for out of pocket spending; You can’t get them when you spend rewards
The Kindle Paperwhite, though not on sale like you mentioned, is sold out everywhere and Amazon won’t have any in stock until late Decemeber. This date keeps getting pushed back as more people order it. If you really want one, consider picking one up if you can find it as it probably won’t go on sale this season and is hard to find anyways.
I was planning on buying a Kindle Paperwhite as a Christmas gift, guess I will have to wait until it is back in stock.
