Hi Rosa. I’m right there with you. We’re living in temporary housing and have no idea if/when we’ll be back in our home. My three sons have been real troopers through the whole thing – a tree fell into our house, through our roof, right into my older sons’ room. My 17 year-old was in the room at the time, and we are grateful every day that my husband was able to get to him and get him out unharmed. Their room remained exposed to the elements for the entire storm and the week after – they have essentially lost everything – clothing, electronics, a computer, etc. Our homeowner’s insurance is awful and is covering no personal property. Christmas will be terribly difficult for us as well, thankfully we are able to be together through this.
I keep trying to remind my four year-old that Santa will find a way. Between phone calls and appointments, I’ve been visiting thrift stores to replace some lost items. My middle son has been really helpful trying to keep the spirit of Christmas alive for my little guy, and for that I am very grateful. I truly hope that you are able to make Christmas magical for your little ones and if nothing else, please know that you are not alone <3

Do you have a wishlist for them?

    • Angie says:

They can have a special holiday! Don’t cry over what you can’t give them, rejoice over what you can. They won’t remember what they got this year for Christmas past January, but they will remember a sad Mom. Don’t worry about buying them things, just spend time with them. I am a Mom of little ones (and a not so little one) and I know my kids would rather have me than all of the toys in the world. Don’t worry! You have so much more than you realize and you don’t need everything you think you do. I promise!!! Please don’t cry.
