Hip2Save This Holiday Guest Post submitted by reader, Laura:
Our family loves celebrating Christmas and we try to make the most of the weeks leading up to the holiday by doing fun and meaningful activities together. One cute and clever craft idea that we make is a Bubble Wrap Advent Calendar. Both my kids and I enjoy making this frugal craft and counting down by popping one bubble per day!
Materials:
Large-size bubble wrap
Round multi-colored label stickers
Permanent Marker
Scissors
Use seven rows of the bubble wrap and cut out a Christmas tree shape. Have your child carefully use a marker to write out the numbers 1-24 on the labels. Place one sticker on each bubble. You can place them in number order or mix it up and put them in random order and hunt for the correct number each day. It’s that simple! Now you just have to resist the temptation to pop all the bubbles at once! My kids and I love this simple craft. It would also be great for large groups.

So would my boys!! This would not work in my house. I wish my kids would be amused by that I would save so much money by not buying the lego advent calendars lol!!!

I love this idea! I think we’ll have to make the kids at least 2 or 3 apiece, though – who can pop just one bubble at a time??

I actually love that there’s no chocolate. The only calendars that aren’t sold have that terrible cheap chocolate. bleh
