For details on how to make these, check out what Melissa said…

“Hi Collin!  Here are photos of the socks… the liner is just some really cute paper cut with a scalloped edged scissors and the socks are rolled up (here is a link to how to roll the socks: https://craftfairy.blogspot.com/2010/02/sock-cupcakes-this-time-with-tutorial.html ) and held with a rubber band. The pom pom is held with a little bit of tape. Enjoy! Happy creating!”

(Thanks so much for the fun idea, Melissa!)

We made these for our office last year (over 45) and they were super easy and really cute. We bought the socks from Kohl’s and got Kohl’s cash to use for Angel Tree gifts too. Had so many compliments. Only one complaint was they thought at first they were real!

My socks last year got holes in them after the first two wears. My walmart ones have held up a lot better.

I’m thinking about making these for my daughter’s dorm-mates using the Goody’s hair bands to hold the socks in place and possibly some flowered or jeweled swirl clips for the top.

Man, RiteAid had these fluffy socks 2/$1 on Thanksgiving. I’m so sad that I only got two. I love this idea!

I got this idea from Collin last year and gave them to teachers who loved them and family who can’t eat “real” cupcakes but were pleased to receive these cupcakes. Thanks Collin for reminding me of this I will do this again this year!

After you posted about these last year, I made them for the special area teachers at my son’s school (art, library, ect.), and they were a big hit.

What do you use for the base of the cupcake sock? I bought some socks and I would really love to do this for my kids teachers this year.

Just cute paper, I bought mine from Target last year 🙂

I saw these made with onesies and baby socks on Pinterest, so cute! The onesies were rolled up like the socks are here and the baby sock was rolled to look like a topper!
