Funny though – reading Amazon’s Facebook wall over this promotion – people get so hateful when they can’t seem to figure out how to make it work. One lady was like “THIS WAS A SCAM TO GET ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION!” and I’m thinking…”no…you just didn’t follow directions…”

I don’t think that’s a “hateful” comment. My mother-in-law would say the same thing – concern about her personal info, that is. I have followed the instructions, myself, and can’t seem to get it to work, either.

I didn’t let the app load, and, even though I got the emails, I can’t make this code work (even though I’m following the directions). I’ve put in way more time than a $5 code is worth trying to figure it out.

For everyone having a problem – I just spent 5 minutes on the Amazon chat help feature, and they just gave me a $5 credit. They couldn’t figure out why it didn’t work either, so they just manually credited my account $5. I figured that’s what would happen, since I think Amazon customer service is amazing!

It didn’t apply for me but I went through the chat feature and they gave me a 1-time $5 promotional off that did automatically work. Both items I ordered were sold and shipped from Amazon and the total before the $5 off came to over $25 so I don’t know what the problem was.

I did not download the app, the credit was not showing up and wouldn’t work after several times of logging in & out. I did the live chat help and she fixed the problem and applied a $5 credit to my account. Took about 5 minutes!

For people who are having problems, make sure that the items in your cart are all sold by amazon. I had a memory card in my cart that was sold by someone else and the code wasnt showing up. Once I switched it out for a card sold by amazon, the code showed up magically! Hope this helps!
