I wanted to pass along a fun find that I found at JCPenney. JCPenney is having their Merry Christmas America event. Just go into a JCPenney and ask for a button. Type the number on the back of the button on their website. You can win anything from a $5 gift certificate to a $500 gift certificate, a Dyson vacuum cleaner or a vacation! It’s a lot of fun. I’ve already won a $5 gift certificate!
JCPenneys is giving out Christmas buttons (pins) in stores with & without a purchase. 1 out of 4 score $5 or $10 off any purchase of that amount or higher. They may have higher amounts, but $10 is the highest I have gotten so far. You can also win trips. You go to JCPenney.com, click on the button post on the right side and enter the code on the back of the button. You can enter 2 codes per e-mail address per day. I have gotten $60 worth so far. I found $10 Fisher-Price clearance toys in store and didn’t even have to pay the tax. You can use them online too.
JCP is offering a contest where you get a really cute pin with a code on the back and you enter the code in their webpage for a chance to win a TON of prizes. Over the course of Black Friday weekend, I acquired 7 of the pins between what I was given from family members and what I got from the clerks themselves. Four of these pins were winners, I was so excited! I got two certificates worth $5 off a $5 purchase and two certificates for $10 off a $10 purchase. When I went into my local JCP I was thrilled to find some great prices. With my certificates I managed to get 3 Carters one piece outfits for my 7 month old son, an Angry Birds winter hat for my 10 year old, and the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Infant Laptop, all for only $8!!! That’s less than the regular price for 1 of the Carter’s outfits originally. I also took the pins off the back and replaced them with round magnets and now I have some super cute Christmas magnets for my refrigerator or to give as gifts to my daughter’s teachers.

I work at JCP and yes, like amounts can be combined.
The one I love the most right now is the coke points everyday you can get free gift cards for points so far I have gotten Walmart, McDonalds, Dominos and Home depot gift cards and it is still going on…. I love it they mail you the cards.

Krizzamendiola, for the nice tip, I’ve got to give you one as well… did as you said and ended up with seven pins (one lady literally gave me the “one” I asked for) I had my little sister with me and and she got one at every other counter. Ended up winning twenty bucks… not too shabby! However, I noticed on a few of the pins that the the code and the China stickers were affixed to another sticker underneath. Just for the heck of it, I opened a pin and used it to rip off the stickers I had already used… sure enough, three of my pins had three more codes underneath! I think two of those three were winners? Ended up with forty or fifty bucks just by using your tip and my curiosity! ; ) I don’t shop at JCP, but my mom shops for my little sisters there and they love the clothes, so it’ll come in handy!

I go by all 5 guest service counters every time I’m by the mall. I live in a rural area, so I can’t make it by the mall often, otherwise I’d just swing by every day and hit up one counter. I’ve entered in 12 codes so far and won a $5 and a $10 cert! Not the best luck, but hey, it’s still $15 towards baby stuff for my sister.
They also have boys sz 4-7 shirts with super hero capes marked down to $3. The code also works for those. $2.40each

ironically, we have the same name and I’ve been on bedrest twice now! Good luck, drink lots of water, and get lots of help watching your 4 year old! And ask for help cleaning the house! I didn’t the first time and it drove me nuts my floor was only swept once! We’re here for u!!

I’ve been on bed rest since week 26 (6 weeks now) and am feeling great about keeping him in so many more weeks.
I am drinking SO much water every day. I have had numerous other pre-term contractions since the first that led to a hospital visit but thankfully they have stopped fairly quickly since that first time.
My husband is a PhD student and taught a class this semester that thankfully coincided with the 2 half days my daughter is in preschool. And other than teaching, he has been home to be with her and do all the housework and cooking and all. He is awesome — no, the dishes and laundry don’t get don’t as quickly as I would do them and that’s okay!;). Plus there is the added bonus of him saying (I am a stay at home mom for reference) “This is hard! I always respected what you do but wow this is hard! If ever I seem like I am not respecting you, you just remind me of these weeks.” I said “I’ll just say ‘Okay, I am taking a few days off'” and he said “Fair enough!” Ha!

I had a tough time finding them too.
Got the gas station playset, but the traffic light was sold out! So sad about that, my son’s jaw would have dropped when he saw that Christmas morning! Oh well, he’ll be happy with the gas station too!

The Manchester, NH JCP had Skylander Giant game packs, characters, and plush all marked 40-50% off!! Got the game starter pack for $50. The 3 pk of characters were $14. Single characters were $6-8 depending on whether they were legends or not. The 20% off also worked on these. Saved a ton of money for my two boys!!!

I’ve gotten only $5 and $10 certificates, but they’ve added up to $145 so far!!! My Penney’s Salon has their OPI nail polish 2 for $12, so with the $10 off, they are just $1 per nail polish, which is great because I’ve never splurged on OPI before!

Karen is correct the $5 and $10 holiday gift certificates are not redeemable online or combined with other promotions. The $25 wins are gift cards not holiday gift certificates. The holiday gift certificates expire this month – the gift cards do not.

Does anyone else have issues placing online orders with JCP? Every time (and I do mean EVERY time) I try to do an online order I go round and round with their system not letting me place my order. I try everything from shipping it to me, ship to store, paying by credit card, paying using Paypal. Their ordering system just takes me in circles often times clearing out my cart at some point!! I have learned to write the item numbers down before I attempt to check out. I have now been sitting on hold for 22 minutes waiting to place my order over the phone. I think I have about 2 more minutes of patience left before I just decide to give up!!!!!!!!!! Yea, I just got a live body to place my order!

Yes!!! Happened to me tons of times and then the stop light was sold out! And then one of the orders that disappeared in my cart went through so now I’m going to have tons of returns:( UGH!!!
I placed an order for a pair of jeans for my daughter on black Friday w jcp. Ten bucks woo hop! Well they ran out and did not charge me but gave me a ten dollar code. Could not find jeans for that price again in her size so I ordered a cupcake pan…they sent me a $60 pair of ugly walking shoes, that happen to be in my size. Trying to decide whether to keep them, return them without a receipt for a gift card or be honest and just send back and get my muffin pan. I am kind of upset about it and think that after all this trouble jcp can afford $60 for my troubles…I have not been impressed with them since the new management took over. I used to LOVE this store. 🙁 I have memories of going through the toy catalog every year at gmas. She ordered everything from them :/
I would return them – I believe in karma that doing the right thing will bring good luck to you later.
I’d try and return them too (super big in Karma here), but if they are little b****es about it and make it super inconvenient for you just keep them. They have to play fair too
I would return them but first I would call Penney’s and tell them what happened. You never know,they might let you keep them!
Chances are they will just have you keep them anyways, wouldnt be worth the shipping costs. Just call them.
Actually, this happened to me twice. The first time they insisted I return the order to the store (they sent ugly ladies’ shirts and I had ordered boys’ shorts for my kids) but the second time, they sent UPS back out to pick up the order. I would call them and if they insist you return them, insist that they send UPS out to pick them up.

I have only been able to get four buttons so far, none of which were winners.
Just a heads up. In my store the Little Miss Matched items are marked down. So on my way from work I swing by and get a pair for my daughter and some more buttons. The socks are regular priced $6 but are marked down to $2 each. Now my daughter has a nice stockpile of cute socks at a great price and I have won over $70 in holiday certificates. They have all been $5 and $10. However I have a friend who won $25 and a local trip out of town. And multiple cashiers said there have been two customers at my store who won $500!!! I hope sharing my little tip increases my karma meter and I might get a big dollar amount soon. Either way I’m thankful for even $5 these day!

I am happy for all of the winners. I was a winner too but my experience has not been great as all of the other comments above. I won a $10 holiday certificate, claimed it as instructed, but I am still waiting, 2 weeks later, for the email that they said would come in 48 hours. I emailed customer service but have had no response. I also entered another 2 codes online and have not gotten any emails about whether or not any of them were winners. This has also been 2 weeks.
You may want to check your spam. The emails come right away and then you click on a link in the email to claim the coupon and then type in all your info. The coupons have been emailed to me within 24 hours.
I don’t normally shop JCP but went Friday with friend who was looking for cardigans. Didn’t find any she liked but I remembered the button promo so we stood in line and got 1 each. I don’t know about her but I just won $10 gift certificate!
I’m a scrapbooker and read about these buttons at JCP to use in scrapbooking. I was at the mall yesterday and was given 7 by three different clerks. It didn’t even occur to me that any of the ones I was given would be winners! Off to find out!

I got 2 said code was invalid , i complained when making a return gave me two more worth 0!
I went yesterday and was able to get bras for 4.40 a piece some are maidenform I also was able to 8 pack of washclothes for 2.40. In my house I can always use washclothes we have six living here full time. Three teenage girls who are going to be happy to see all the new bras they got. If the website is sold out, they have many toys on super clearance in the store too. I saw Hot Wheels, Monster High dolls , Barbie, Lalaloopsy dolls, Big Wheels, remote controlled helicopters, Discovery sets and lots of toddler toys. The 20% applies to these as well.

I love the buttons! I’ve been to JC Penney perhaps 3 times since they starting handing out buttons. Sometimes the cashiers will hand me 6-10 buttons at a time! I’ve probably entered in 20 or so buttons and have accumulated about $45 in JC Penney cash certificates. What a blessing! Since it was unexpected money, I was able to buy a bunch of toys to donate to Toys for Tots, as well as some clothing for a little boy at our church who has no winter clothing. I hope they bring this promotion back next Christmas! What a wonderful way to give back!
