Hip2Save This Holiday Guest Post submitted by reader Jill
This inexpensive gift is perfect for a spouse, significant other, neighbor or even the babysitter! To make this fun and inexpensive Christmas treat…

1. Rinse and remove the label of a two liter bottle.
2. Cut a door in the side of the bottle where the label was.
3. Fill jar with candy (I used clearance Halloween candy!), popcorn and a movie gift card. Put big items in first. Then add smaller items in the top hole, such as Starbursts.
4. Tape up the door in the bottle.
5. Add a new label to cover the door and a ribbon.
Easy Peasy!

What a cute idea! I’ll for sure be making these for a few people for Christmas! Thanks for the idea!
Susan says:
I make these for end of year Teacher Presents filled with free and cheap supplies I have found during the year like post-its, pens, sharpies, paper clips, candy, etc. They are a big hit every year.
Kate says:
Awesome!!
Jenn says:
I do these as gag gifts. I very carefully peel the original label back. After I am done stuffing it, I tape the hole and apply a little glue to the label so it sticks the way it did before. They are always a hit.
Ebony says:
So cute!!!
Mary says:
Wish I wouldn’t have thrown away all the 2 liters over the year….
karen says:
Grab some out of a recycle bin and wash them out really well!
Just Me says:
The orville redenbacker (sp?) popcorn has redbox codes in them to stick inside instead of movie passes.

I did this for my niece a couple of years ago. The look on her face was priceless as to how to open it.

I wish a DVD could fit in there! I got a whole bunch of $5 DVD’s from Walmart and it would be great to give with candy and microwavable popcorn. Call it “Date Night”. No babysitter included, though. Ha ha ha. They’ll just have to put kids to bed early…
pharmchick says:
You could use a different type of container im sure!!
Ann Dee says:
Just an idea: I bought 15 Sprites to give to neighbors I don’t know very well. Just attach a little card that says, “May your days Be Merry and Sprite.” (:
lynd says:
This kinda doesnt make sence…. how could you take the popcorn and candy with you to the movie theater with the movie tickets? I think its a great idea to put a red box gift card in it or a blockbuster gift card.
Ashley says:
A really big purse
J says:
I second the really big purse
Ethel says:
It makes perfect sense. You don’t always have to watch a movie in a theater. You can watch movies at home together. If everything was taken literal, how would you pop the popcorn at the movie theater?
Sue says:
Great idea! I am going to use this for some teen gifts.
Heather says:
This would be a really good idea for a gift for someone for April Fool’s Day!
Ethel says:
Collin ~ Thank you so much for posting this! This idea made a wonderful gift from my son to his girlfriend. She was thrilled that he made something for her.
