When my kids were toddlers, I ended up with a lot of left-over Gerber Graduates Puffs containers. I mean, A LOT. Ever the pack-rat, once they were empty, I began to wash and save them, vowing, “I’ll use these someday!”
Then one morning, as I looked at one perched on the countertop, an idea hit me. The container looked like a naked snowman! So I decided to dress him up. I raided my craft drawer for ribbon, pom-poms, chenille stems, wiggly eyes, and a glue gun. And I borrowed a sock from my daughter. In no time at all, I had made a snowman, without ever leaving the warmth of my home!

At first, I used my decorated snowmen for storing things that are easily misplaced around the holidays—extra light bulbs for the Christmas tree, ornament hangers, and those tiny batteries that nearly require a microscope to see. They also made a great “Snowman Dough-can,” a sort of holiday piggy bank, especially fun for encouraging kids to save money for gift-giving or charity donations. And I quickly realized that bite-size fudge, peanut butter balls, and chocolate-covered pretzel sticks fit inside, making the snowmen containers a perfect holiday gift to share with family and friends!

So cute! What did you use to make the snowman white? Is it construction paper? Thanks for sharing

We keep our coffee mate bottles and let the kiddos put a bit of paint in them and shake shale shake. The red cap makes a sweet little snowman hat and then they use markers to draw the features on.

We also use the puff containers for preschool lessons…I wrote large numbers 1-10 on the front (yes I have lots of these things too) with permanent markers on each, made a slot in the cap of each container and the children drop the correct number of poker chips into each..we also use them for bowling pins:)

You can also use the Aldi’s coffee creamer bottles, just peel of the labels.
My kiddos use those all of the time to make snowman, robots, etc.

Darn, wish I would’ve known about this craft or even the bowling pins a few years ago when I was going through the Puffs like crazy…Time to find some neighbors that would save them for me…Heh heh…
