Best Buy: *HOT* $50 Off $100 In-Store Purchase Coupon (When You Use Your MasterCard)

Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

UPDATE AGAIN: I have decided to remove the links to this coupon. When I first posted, I assumed this coupon was valid for everyone since it was emailed out to various customers with the same barcode and didn’t state one-time use. However, after reading the comments it sounds like this may not be the case and may be limited to certain stores and/or certain customers. I am very sorry for the confusion on this. I try to only post valid deals, but sometimes I do make mistakes.

UPDATE: You may want to call your local Best Buy store ahead of time to verify that they will honor this coupon. As I said below, it is a valid coupon as it came directly from an email they sent out to customers.

Wow! Calling all you Best Buy shoppers and MasterCard users! You can currently head here to print an in-store coupon valid for a whopping $50 off when you spend $100 in-store! This coupon is valid through 1/27 and there are quite a few exclusions, so make sure to read the fine print. Also, this coupon was sent via email and is legit.

My husband had no problems using the coupon! We were going to have to pay $230 for Quickbooks, but instead were able to get it for $130 at Best Buy today! What a major blessing for us!

    • Izabela

How did you save a $100 instead of $50??

      • Becky

It was $50 off already, plus the coupon!

    Too bad I don’t have a mastercard…

    • Christine Lowe

go to walmart and buy a prepaid. it worked great. I got a laser printer reg. price $109, saved $50….no beeps, no over-ride, using a prepaid mastercard. I had to spend a little more time to find the prepaid card where you could load any amount on. (my walmart did not have the $100 prepaid card).

    Anyone try this in W.Michigan?

  7. Nicole

I live in MI, metro Detroit area. I just tried buying $100 in Amazon gift cards but was told by the manager that the coupon is not valid on gift cards and coupons never have been. He was quite rude so I called rewardzone customer service & she said that best buy realized after the email went out that they made a mistake on not excluding some things & that the store should have known that & printed a corrected coupon. I guess some stores must not be aware that gift cards are not included if some of you are getting them. Other than issue, the coupon is valid & they were ready to accept it until they saw I had gift cards.

I got 2 multipacks of ink and 2 boxes of k-cups plus got 2 $5 gift cards(for buying 2 multipacks, in Sunday’s ad) that they applied to my total. They are special ordering my ink and will be shipped to my house, no shipping charge. For a total of about $46.00. Manager did have to over ride the coupon, but was no problem at all. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I’m happy. Thank you everyone!

I used it towards a Kindle Fire HD! Thanks

I just used this at 6:15 pm in Pittsburgh PA (Century III) and the managers were very nice. They said that gift cards were excluded because of the no cash value exclusion on the original coupon and asked what else I’d like to buy. I told them computer ink and memory cards and they said both were included. I bought 3 packages of ink (two were double packages), a 16GB memory card for my niece’s iXL that we got her for Christmas, and a bottle of carpet cleaner for our spot bot. It came to 109 with tax and 56 after they took off the $50. I also bought something that earned me a $5 best buy gift card. Not too shabby! The cashiers didn’t seem to want to ring the coupons themselves and kept calling a manager over to ring them in. The manager was very nice about it.

You would think that if a company wanted a coupon to be used by specific people only, they would make it a one time individual code that could not be redistributed (like Toys R US rewards that are sent out the members). If you put the same barcode on every single one, of course it is going to be forwarded. I cant believe in this day and age that a company would think that this would not get blogged about and explode!! This screw up up is absolutely on Best Buy!

I used it for a Seagate 3TB external hard drive!!! Priced at $139.99 and got $50 off + tax. Returned the one I bought from Costco over the weekend for $129.99 + tax! Sweet deal!!! (San Diego County, Santee location).

  13. holly

Just purchased a deskjet printer for $80 (Redding, Ca). No problems at all using the $50 off coupon! Thanks Collin for posting this!!

  14. Lee

    Worked for me in Virginia.

  15. Izabela

I wish I could buy 10 of $100 Best Buy gift cards with this coupon for $50 each :))) and then keep them for Black Friday Sale 😀 😀 😀

  16. Molly

I got a ninja blender this morning, barcode didn’t scan but they adjusted the price down. I tried getting gift cards but they said they were excluded, but the coupon does not say that.

At my BB, there are signs all over the store indicating that it has to be ONE item over $100.00 in order to get the $50 off. At first, I tried buying multiple items which totaled over $100 but was not able to use the $50 off. Then I bought a portable harddrive… and it was 99.99. The asst manager rang me up and said he’d give it to me since I had been very patient. In fact, the asst manager was telling me that “corporate put out this and they didn’t explain thoroughly, so now we’re getting constant changes that even I can’t keep up with. And why should you be punished for their mistake? I rather sell you this item right here and make $50.00 then have you walk out and buy your item elsewhere.” Good kid! I would have rather had my multiple transaction, but whatever… I had to eventually get a portable hard drive soon. It just came sooner rather than later.

    • Trinity

Btw, I did miss the sign “must buy 1 item over 100.00” — otherwise I wouldn’t have tried to purchase it in the first place.

  18. Elise

I was able to use in W. MA. on printer ink, dvds, kuerig brewer and wii fit. 3 different transactions.

    • Elise

and the cashier just manually put in the UPC, no override.

      • Trinity

How did you do 3 different transaction? Wasn’t it buy 100.00 take 50.00 off?

  19. Txmomx3

Yippie! Me and my husband got the emails and we both just used our coupons. My husband got an Apple TV for $30 after the coupons and some reward points he had. And I got 4 25$ amazon GC! No problems. Just on my transaction the cashier said she had to override to make it work. But there were no funny looks or attempts to say our items were not included. Thanks BB!

    • Trinity

Nice! Mine said no gift cards period. 🙁

I bought 2 100-pack DVDs and 2 50-pack CDs. The cashier asked me if I wanted to open a Best Buy credit card and received a $20 off of $50 coupon. I said yes. My total was $103.96 – the $50 off $100 q AND – $20 off $50 q (in that order) and my final cost was under $36.00. The cashier was surprised to see the computer accept both coupons. Thanks Collin. I’ll be saving this for a Christmas gift for my brother-in-law.

  21. Scott

Dont remove the links I work for Best Buy in Southern California this is a good coupon HOWEVER, we have been advised to let the customers know a few things (this was sent from our disrict manager). You have to spend $100 on 1 item you cannot buy multiple items to reach the $100. You CANNOT Buy gift Cards and other items listed. You CAN buy Keurigs, certain TV’s, Vaccums etc

    • Trinity

Hi Scott. Can you confirm whether this coupon has been pulled from the store? My brother got an email yesterday with the coupon and he said he went today but Best Buy told him, “we’re not accepting this coupon anymore. We sent an email out saying yesterday was the last day, we’re not honoring it today.”

      • mel

I just got an email from Best Buy that the coupon was targeted to select MC customers was inaccurate and now no longer valid.

I’ll bite my tongue from ranting here…

  22. Suzy

They would not honor the coupon in Northern Virginia but the manager was nice and gave my mother a $35 discount instead (I emailed her the coupon because I thought she would be interested). She bought me a “surprise” vacuum cleaner which is being sent directly to me (for free). I am thrilled. My current vacuum cleaner is a piece of junk. THANKS MOM and Hip2Save.

  23. Alexis

I was wondering if anyone has used this with the “20% off small appliances” on the coupons app. I want to buy a Keurig. But I don’t know if it would work :/
