I give up on this! 3rd time in a row that it’s not counting my points after taking out 75 points 🙁

    • Sara

      Me too!!!

  2. Candace

I have been getting points over the past few weeks every time they post a new poll, etc. I have received $10 in reward certificates so far!

BUT……. I just went to take the most recent poll, and I noticed that my total was not right. When I looked at my account, it said:

“02/07/13 Annual Point Expiration. See Program Rules. $0.00 -170 pts”

I wonder why?? Did this happen to anyone else?

    • Tricia

Yes, it’s happened to everyone. Now my points are not even going in at all with the last 3 polls I took!

    • justme

yep happened to me to. I just lost 200 points!

    • Tamara

Hi i am not sure if anyone posted that but do call customer service ask politely what happened and they might restore them.Worked for me today))

      • dawn

they asked me to email them and I did and now I lost even more.

    • Jenny

The annual point expiration happens in early Feb because they wait for any purchases you bought at the end of Dec to post (it takes approx 35 days for purchases to be posted to you account) Since previously the only way to get point was to buy stuff at Best Buy I don’t think their system was programmed to account for the points in the poll. For those who are losing points is it taking out all the way back to $0 or just deducting the points for purchases?

    • Melissa

I called customer service, spoke to two different people about my lost of 200 points and they offered me 40 points after a 30 min phone call. They were very difficult to understand, didn’t know what the Facebook points were and kept telling my I needed to wait 30 days for my purchase points to show after repeatedly telling them they were not from a purchase. SO frustrating!!! They could not see where my points had even been deducted on the points history page. They thought I was making it up!!!!

  3. bob

lost 225 pts today due to best buys annual point expiration date, bummer.

  4. marla

Mine expired, too. I lost 175 pts., somehow. I looked all through the rules…?

  5. susan

I’m having a similar issue as the last couple polls and after I invited friends didn’t increase my points.

    • susan

Just looked and saw that I lost 236 points – almost at the $5 certificate! program rules say every calendar year so no idea why this happened now.

  6. nicole

Thanks i printed my second certificate yesterday i think.I have 275 now.

  7. ercin13

I got 102 points deducted today for “Annual Point Expiration. See Program Rules.”. Happened to me couple days ago too but they re-credited me yesterday and deducted me again today. Screwiest program I have been apart of. I guess I cant complain , it is free and easy and I have received two $5 certificates thus far.

  8. Beth

I lost 215 too. Starting over again. But I’ve got one $5 certificate!

  9. Ymendoza01

To everyone who lost points: contact best buy reward zone and they will comp you the points back, some even give you extra points for the inconvenience 🙂

    • ercin13

Thanks, do you know if you can use more than 1 certificate in a transaction?

      • Ymendoza01

        yes you can :))

        • Suzy

I was able to stack 6 from 3 totally different account online. (I did not complete the transaction, I was just testing). The system seemed to take them just like they were $5 gift certificates.

  10. marla

My 175 pts. just reappeared. But I seem to have lost today’s 25 pts.

  11. Tina

I lost 50 points, so I printed my certs ($20 total) before they took away more

  12. Tonya

I lost 138 today too. I will try to call and politely ask about it tomorrow. Either way, im getting almost that many points back in 5 days so i cant really complain. This is something I can finally give the hubby that he will enjoy!

  13. Heather

Hey ladies, I contacted their customer service department, and although you have to go through a lot of automated mumble jumbo to get an actual person, they were very helpful. I lost 225 points and the representative actually credited me
250 so I could get a reward. He was very helpful and polite and the whole call was only around 5 minutes.

    • Jenny

      Thanks for the info Heather!

  14. E

I didn’t lose any points but I have noticed my total being wonky so I started to keep track of the points on a piece of paper every day.

  15. kelli

I called them today after losing 209 points. Customer Service credited my account 500 for the inconvenience. Worth a shot ladies!

  16. Brittany

    Thanks Collin!

  17. Claire McTiernan

add me to the ones who “lost” 200 points (I would have had another $5 certificate today:( ) I emailed Best Buy and shall see what happens. It is fun free points so I should be content with that 🙂

  18. Joan

I just lost 150 points. Hopefully, Best Buy will restore the lost points!

  19. Suzy

NICE TIP: Go here and see the entire log of all your Best Buy Rewards Zone transactions!! https://myrewardzone.bestbuy.com/account/pointsandpurchases/

I was impressed to see that bestbuy.com keeps a detailed log of all your point transactions and earnings. I am going to arm myself with this when I call. Lost 225 point in one account and even under the Rules, it should have just cashed me out for a certificate, as I had 300ish.

  20. lisa

does anyone know when this ends ?

    • Suzy

I am guessing that the daily polls will go on for at least another 86 days. They launched these polls with the Ultimate Spaces (create a dream living room, kitchen, etc.). The last space– the patio– goes live in 86 days. But who knows.

  21. Carrie

I called, they gave me a free $5 reward and reinstated mine lost points + some. More than satisfied. I’m starting to like Best Buy more and more

  22. Katherine

Their website states that points expire every “calendar year.” Therefore it seems to make sense that any points earned in January should be good for the entire year of 2013. I contacted them to let them know and hopefully they will credit me my points.

  23. Rachel

I just called and they issued me $10 for the inconvience

  24. Jodi

I just called because I was missing 150 points. They rewarded me 500 and will be sending me a $10 gift card. It was really easy, and worth calling!

    • Katherine

Thanks! I called because I was missing 229 points. They also gave me the 500 point credit

  25. marla

I just called and was told that I need to wait until 2/23 for my points to appear. I’m back at 0…should be 250. ?

  26. Shanna

I lost 200 points because of the “Annual Point Expiration” policy, so I called and spoke to someone who was very nice and got 500 points for my inconvenience.

  27. Kristin

As others have said, I called and spoke to a very nice (though a bit hard to understand) man who credited me 500 points for the inconvenience. Takes a bit of work to get through the automated system, but the man I spoke with was pretty efficient. For those of you who did not have luck calling initially, I would try calling back. It sounds like they’re getting lots of complaints and are authorized to make it right.

  28. Lisa Abbott (@csupink26)

I lost 25 pts. last night but after I took the poll the 25 from the poll and the missing 25 showed back up. I logged back in later and I lost 50 pts., so when I logged back in I checked the keep me logged in box below the sign in. I printed my certificate for $5 today and the missing points showed back up, and since I’m staying logged in I think they’ll stay there until I make enough to print another certificate.

  29. Jami

I went to take the poll today (Feb. 8) and saw it said I only had 75 points! I freaked out and logged into my actual rewards zone account and it also said I only had 75 points because there was a line item deduction for 200 points due to annual expiration.

I actually went and READ the program rules and it says that points expire at the end of the calendar year, so all the points I earned should still be in my account as I didn’t even start taking the polls until late January. I JUST joined rewards zone a few weeks ago when that yellow Eureka vacuum was on sale. I called and explained the problem to the customer service rep and, even though his explanation made no sense and is not in line with the program rules on their website, he credited me 500 points for customer satisfaction. So, even though a part of me is still peeved that they took my points away in error, I’m not going to argue when he’s giving me more than I would have received anyway, lol.

If this happened to you, give them a call and see what happens. Can’t hurt!

  30. Lauren

Between 2/3 and 2/23, new transactions will take longer to appear in your account. This is part of year-end account and system maintenance. During this time, you may still issue certificates if you have enough points available. No new transactions and/or points will be reflected in your account until after 2/23.

  31. Melanie

Just called CS on my missing points and he told me that they just received a notice that the facebook points are being deleted in error and that all points will be put back in the account by 2/20. They are having a problem with their system. He would not credit me back my points as they were told now not to do that. Well, we will see on 2/20!

  32. Chr

Just called customer service and they said as a one time courtesy they would credit back my 238 points (which would take 24-48 hours)…we shall see…
