I had a heck of a time nursing my daughter until I got the My Brest Friend pillow. It was SOOO worth it. If you’re pregnant, use the My Brest Friend. Trust me. :)

If I had to only pick only one it would be the My Brest Friend pillow for sure. I have used it every single day for almost 10 months and I’m not sure if I would have been successful nursing without it. I had a c-section and being able to use it in bed was great!  With the MBF you can even get up and get whatever you forgot like a burp cloth etc and hardly disturb the baby. Love it!

DEFINITELY get this if you are pregnant! I used the Boppy with my first child, and the My Brest Friend with my second, and it was unbelievable how much easier it made my nursing experience. This is the best price I have ever seen. It would make an AWESOME gift for someone as well!

  2. Betsy

This is the best nursing pillow on the market, in my opinion.

  3. bt

    Yep..this is the BEST one!

  4. Lolita

Is it a lot better than the boppy? I have a boppy and did not like it.

    • Kathie M

I had Boppy and this and I only used this for feeding. The Boppy became something g for her to lay in or sit up with.

    • Jennifer

To say it is a lot better than the Boppy is an understatement!! I HATED the Boppy–it made my nursing experience a total nightmare with my first child. The Boppy gives absolutely no support and slides down to your lap when you are breastfeeding causing the child to detach easily from your breast while they are trying to eat. My Brest Friend gives so much support because it straps on and you can choose how tight or loose you want it. You can even multi-task somewhat when you use My Brest Friend too because it offers sooooo much awesome support. I wish My Brest Friend would be able to advertise more because it is truly the superior nursing pillow on the market (the makers of The Boppy really market theirs probably why it is so popular). Just my opinion, but I got this for my second child, and it truly saved my sanity!!! Love, love, love the My Brest Friend!!

I breastfed my son until his 1st birthday, we used our pillow every time! I don’t know what we would have done without this pillow. I love how it buckles, and the cover comes off so you can wash it. Great price too!

On a side note, breastfeeding is hard, but so worth it! 🙂 I truly enjoyed our special time together.

Breastfeeding CAN be hard, but it isn’t always/doesn’t necessarily have to be! =) Educating yourself beforehand, and having a knowledgeable support system makes a huge impact. Definitely worth it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don’t put this near your child!, May 24, 2012

This review is from: My Brest Friend Pillow, Sunburst (Baby Product)
My package just got here.. I unzipped the plastic and I couldn’t believe the STRONG ODOR that was off-gassing. I got a headache immediately. I looked up “Polyurethane foam” and couldn’t believe what I was reading! I wont have this near my baby! I had to put it in the garage.. I’d rather have a sore back than a SICK CHILD!

“Polyurethane foam (essentially solid petroleum) is extremely flammable. To combat this hazard, industrial toxic fire retardants are added. The most common chemical fire retardant used to treat polyurethane foam has been pentaBDE, a toxin associated with hyperactivity and neuro-behavioral alterations. PentaBDE is not bound to the foam, and leaches out into the surrounding air.

PentaBDE has recently been banned in Europe. It has also been banned by the State of California as of 2006. However, there is currently no planned government action to recall the millions of baby mattresses presently in use that contain pentaBDE.”

Hmmmm….not trying to negate this info. These are used at the NICU where my daughter was born. With such delicate babies, I wouldn’t think they would use them if they could sicken these babies even more.

      • Betsy

Leidy is right, the foam is covered in flame retardant. Unfortunately. This is the first I’m hearing about it, which is so frustrating, since I try to minimize exposure to carcinogens. Thanks for this info Leidy!

I used this pillow for a year and never smelled anything coming off of the pillow.

I have the older model of this (loud Velcro fastener instead of the buckle) but it is one of my “must have” baby items!

  8. Laura

I have a 2 month old and bought this when I was pregnant. Everyone loves it, but it didn’t work got us.

    • Lolita

I ordered it, but this is what I am worried about. Everybody loved the Boppy when I got mine, and it didn’t work for us. Oh well, we’ll see.

      • Lolita

I did see that Michelle Duggar swears by it, and if anyone has experience with lots of babies, she does :).

      • Jennifer

Lolita, the lactation consultant that I talked to with my second child told me that if you had a hard time with the Boppy then you would more than likely do great with My Brest Friend. I loved the My Brest Friend–I think you will be super happy with it too!!

  9. Liza

I am a Bobby lover for sure! My breast friend pillow did not work for me.

    • Liza

Lol, i don’t know Bobby. But Boppy is hot! 🙂

    • Lolita

      LoL

I have both the Boppy and the Brestfriend and absolutely LOVE the brestfriend pillow. It made nursing so much easier! I used it for both kids and only used the Boppy for tummy time or propping the baby up.

    • Betsy

I had both the boppy and my brest friend. I only used the boppy for supporting my baby while she was laying on the bed, as when I tried to nurse with it, it slide away from my body. This is supposed to be common with larger breasted women (I am size D normally), according to my lactation consultant. Mybrestfriend didn’t have an odor when I received it, and I have used both the regular and travel versions with great success. FYI, from the website: The pillow is made of a recyclable foam, covered by a removable, 100% cotton for the original, 100% polyester (fleece) for the deluxe, machine-washable cover.

        • Betsy

Maybe I will just take the cover and stuff it with machine washable pillow filler. It is a great design, and too bad that the foam may offgas…

          • RG

One of the great things about the MBF is that it is firm. There are bumps for baby’s head and it was great for positioning. Also, I could stand up with it on and my baby stayed supported — I had one hand on baby and one hand for whatever it was that I was reaching for. The benefits of the MBF might be lost if you use pillow filler.

  11. Sarah

This is a great pillow! I preferred it over my boppy, especially when baby was really small.

  12. jules

    Best nursing pillow!!!!

  13. mary

Used this when I had my twins. Was awesome to be able to nurse both girls at the same time and all 3 of us were totally comfortable and happy!! Highly recommend. Never had any problem with a smell/off-gasing and I am highly sensitive to odors.

  14. Rebecca

Loved this pillow–way better than boppy for me!

  15. Jessica

My experience was this…I bought the Boppy for my first baby and was unhappy because I had small breasts and they did not droop to the my navel area so I couldn’t get my baby close enough to my breast by simply sitting down and using the Boppy pillow. I had to put my knees up a certain way (I didn’t have a nursing stool) so that my baby could reach my boob for milk. It broke my back 12 times a day cuz my son was a milk guzzler. Second time around, I bought the My BreastFriend pillow and that worked much better. Still not perfect for my small breasts when feeding sitting down, but I would tie the belt high on my back and could more easily feel the newborn. So what I learned was, use the My BreastFriend pillow for your newborn and use the Boppy as they get older like 6 mos and up because the Boppy fits perfect for larger body of a baby. Newborns sink into the Boppy but stay put on BreastFriend contoured surface. Older babies roll off the sturdy BreastFriend pillow because they’re too big, but the soft Boppy allows them to sink in just right and is soft. Just my opinion.

  16. Jessica

I breast fed my babies for 12-15 months each. By the time they got to the 6 mo. mark they were pretty big and the My BreastFriend pillow was too little for them to fit in comfortably while feeding. Their head would land right on top of the bump on the BreastFriend pillow and they would wiggle a lot by that age (6 mos+). Boppy has no bumps, super soft, and basically the bigger the baby, the more they sink in the hole so no rolling off. Personally, I learned to breast feed lying down on a bed so no back pain from feeding, but when no bed available……Use My Breast Friend for newborns and Boppy’s for 6 mos. + babies , especially is you have smaller sized breasts like I did.

  17. LO

I love this pillow!! Made breast feeding 100 times easier especially if you are top heavy! I don’t think they last forever the foam gets padded down after time but it’s worth the money

  18. Monica

Loved this pillow! I used it a year for my son and another year for my daughter. So needless to say it is very durable! I don’t know what people see in the boppy! This pillow gives support. You can get up and move around with the baby if you forgot to get something. You can store things in the pocket. It is adjustable so when you lose the baby weight it will still fit! I really believe this pillow helped me to be successful with breast feeding.

  19. Michele

I used the Boppy with my first child. My second child was not as willing to breast feed & we struggled for a week. The lactation consultant had me use this pillow and it was AMAZING!!!! My son & I were both more comfortable and I was able to nurse him for a year. This was, by far, my favorite “mommy” product!
