20% sounds too good to be true. I mean they are including turbotax software. Does that means that if you buy Quicken (which is free after rebate if you buy turbotax), wouldnt that means extra $8 moneymaker on quicken?

    • Jan

They show Turbo Tax in the ad picture. Fine print: Items must reasonably fit in bag. All furniture included. Excludes HP and Epson toner & ink, desk top & laptop computers, tablets, kindles, nook, Keurig brewers, printers, fax & copy machines, business machines, laminators, storage, case paper, case water, Copy & Print orders, gift cards, mobile phones, services and postage stamps.

  2. Gax

Um…How do you bit chairs and furniture in that bag….?

    • Salesnob

Lol, I may try. My guy needs a new chair maybe they will give me the discount just for being ridiculous. Ha!

  3. Gax

    fit*

    • Casey

Cracking up….I was thinking the same thing:)

  4. Katy

Okay so this might sound like a silly question, but do you have to literally FILL the bag or can you just get a few items? 😛

    • Ashley

You can buy as much (as long as it fits in the bag) or as little as you want.

      • Katy

Awesome, thanks! Totes (;P) going there in the morning!

  5. Deborah

Can you put the toilet paper in the bag for an extra 20% off?

  6. Jan

The Staples ad that is in the stores usually does NOT have the coupons. They only put the coupons in the version that is in the newspaper. I forgot my ad from home last week and the one at the store did not have the free earbud coupon. The manager told me that two ad versions are issued, one for distribution and one for in the stores.

    • eas

You can always go to the computer that is usually located in the store for online ordering and print the ad pages from there. They have always let me use the coupons on the printed ad pages just like I had the real ad, at multiple stores around where I live. I have never seen a Staples around here without the computer somewhere either.

  7. Oralia

I usually get toner ant the bag is really good and sturdy!

    • Sandy

Oralia – toner is sooo much cheaper at Amazon.com and Walmart.com
If u needed to use up Staples Rewards call Staples.com and price match either one of above mentioned .com stores and then apply your Staples Rewards or coupons to pay.

      • eas

        They price match websites????

  8. sarah

If you have the Endorse app the paper towel deal could be even better. I have a 30% back on any brand of paper towels offer this week!

  9. maflies1

Can you do two transactions? One to get the paper rewards, and then a separate one so that rewards issued can be used for bath tissue, ink (at 20% off), etc.? Has anyone tried this and still got the rewards on the 1st transaction?

    • Sandy

Staples Rewards are either sent via mail or email to you on the 3rd week of the following month after your initial purchase. They are not immediate so you have to pay OOP and wait a few weeks to get your rewards.

  10. Emily

I’ve never done Rewards at Staples before but i really want to start. I’ve read the info about it but am still a little confused. In the posting it says rewards can not be rolled. Does that mean when the rewards are issued a month or so later that i can’t use them to buy another item then, that will give more rewards?? Or does it simply mean I can’t buy the paper today and get the rewards today and then turn around and buy something else today with those rewards?? Help! 🙂

    • Sandy

When you get your Staples Rewards in a few weeks you absolutely can use them to buy addt’l products in which you can get more Rewards but it’s not to your advantage. “Qualifying Purchase Amount is the amount paid at checkout AFTER application of all promotions, coupons and Rewards redemption”

So if you buy the $20 paper and use $20 in Staples Rewards you will get ZERO Rewards back because Staples rewards are only issued after all promotions, coupons and rewards are subtracted. If you buy the $20 paper and use say a basic $5 Staples coupon then you will be eligible to receive only $15 in Staples Rewards back.

I use my Rewards on the phone with Staples.com to purchase Ink and Toner after price-matching with Amazon.com

  11. marie

Sounds like you can’t use the coupon on the 5-ream case copy paper as mentioned above. However, it’s still a good deal without the coupon.

  12. Beth

FYI – just got back from my staples and they charge you 99cents for the bag, so work that into your 20% discount.

    • Jen

The bag should be free, there are 2 bar codes they need to scan, one for the bag and one for 20% off.

  13. janette

I went to Staples today. They let me use the 20% off on HP ink. They charge you 99 cents but then credit it back to you. The bag is nice too.

  14. Emily

The item actually has to fit in the bag – my staples wouldn’t let me use it on the Sparkle paper towels.

    • linda

      Same here in Atlanta.

    • eas

hmm… it does say in the fine print: “All chairs, furniture and clearance items are included in this promotion.” That would make it hard to say items had to “fit.”

  15. Missy

The 20% off coupon does not work on the Angel Soft toilet paper or the Sparkle paper towels. I tried this today and it did not take off 20% and it gave the cashier a message that these items were not valid for this coupon.

  16. Melissa

The 20% coupon excludes all case paper so I do not think it will work on the 5 ream case. Did anyone try this out?
