If you’re a fan of Hazelnut Spread and have a Big Lots nearby, you may want to head on over to your local store to snag this Fresh Finds Cocoa and Hazelnut Spread 13 oz jars for only $1 (72% off – regularly $2.50)! Keep in mind that this price is available in stores only through 3/2. I have never personally tried this brand; however it seems like a great price compared to the expensive Nutella brand.

If you head to your local Big Lots to snag this deal, come back and let us know how you like it! 🙂

Friends and family 20% off day is this Sunday I believe.

We’ve tried Aldi’s brand of hazelnut spread and it wasn’t very good. I know this is a good price, but for our family we stick with the name brand – Nutella 🙂

I had the Aldi brand and both kids and I really liked it! I was kinda surprised myself, cuz I think their peanut butter tastes funny. Just my 2 cents. 🙂

I get the Aldi’s brand and everyone in my house likes it. And my boss gets it on a regular basis too. Definitely worth a try.

Never tried the Aldi brand but our shoprite brand is almost better then nutella. When it’s on sale it’s at least $2 cheaper then nutella too. Will definitely try to big lots one. 🙂

We snagged this last night as I spotted it as soon as we walked in. Our family likes it!

My fourteen year old performed a blind taste test between this and Nutella at my kitchen table. She prefers this 😉 .

  5. Sarah

I can’t tell the difference between this and Nutella. It’s the only kind we buy now. So much cheaper!

Are food items at Big Lots good? I never even go in that section, some things I prefer to pay normal prices (hopefully w/ coupons) at the grocery store.

    • Willa

We love to stock up on items we don’t usually get coupons for when they have the Friends and Family day at Big Lots. We have found that in some stores (more so in the south) you have to watch the expiration dates at Big Lots. Just a heads up.

      • Alex

Thanks! I think I’ll just keep doing what I normally do. With your post and the rice post smelling rancid, it’s not worth chancing my familys health.

Heads up to those with food allergies, I’m pretty sure this off-brand of Nutella has peanuts in it. 🙁 I am allergic to peanuts, but not hazelnuts. One time I bought this because it is cheaper than Nutella, but thankfully I read the ingrediants before I ate it because I would have had a bad allergic reaction. I gave the jar to a friend instead.

    • Barbara

Thank you for the info. My daughter is allergic to peanuts as well and now since you have checked it I can save myself some time and stay loyal to Nutella.

I recently bought some couscous at Big Lots. The expiration date was July of 2014. When I opened the bag it smelled rancid. They gave me my money back when I returned it to the store.

Does Big Lots accept manufacturers coupons? T.I.A

    • deidre

Big Lots does not accept man. coupons

I always stock up on food at Big Lots and have never had any issues. I love that they have so many different kinds of food and tons of organic items. They sell Bob’s Red Mill for next to nothing.

My Son is in his super picky eater stage. The one thing he loves to eat is “chocolate and butter” (Nutella & PB) sandwiches. I just bought some of the Kroger brand a few days ago for nearly $4! I will definitely hit up Big Lots and grab a few to stash for next time we need it!

  14. ella

We only eat Nutella 🙂 grow up eating it lol but last week JIF kind was on sale and I tried it. I hated it 🙁 I might get some of those to try so I can use for baking 🙂

  15. danniebloo

I would try this, but every food product I’ve ever gotten at Big Lots has been really, really spoiled. Also, I’m kinda mad at Big Lots right now since I just found out that they don’t take coupons…not that I go in there much anyway haha And their prices are good…I just enjoy using coupons lol
But thanks for posting the deal, you post the best deals! 🙂

According to the articles I have read on MSMMoney.com, retailers will sell items that don’t sell in the major chain markets to Big Lots and they repackage the items to a new label and resell them. This may be why your food is spoiled before you bring it home. It would also be why those popcorn tins have stale popcorn in them…my son got one once and was so disappointed. HTH.
