Worked in Austin,TX.
It worked in Illinois at 5:30pm on 2/25/13.
At my CVS, they were out of the Crest, priced at 2.67. When I asked for a raincheck and explained to the cashier the deal (printed from hip2save), she instead gave me the next larger size 2-pack for $5, which printed a $3 ECB and force printed a $3 ECB. She told me they would have more in a few days and that we should check to see if it actually works then. Do you think I have officially hit my limit? (Not saying I will buy more, just wondering how it tracks a forced ECB.)
This is a system glitch that should be corrected soon. Rain checks are for advertised deals.
I am interested in this comment b/c I have seen on Youtube and other places where people state you can get rainchecks 1) on regular priced items that are out of stock, basically to extend the expiration date of a coupon the store is out of; 2) on in-stock sale items in order to “hold” sale price for better coupons or to pair low sale prices with BOGO sales AND coupons (ie: 3.99 price for All raincheck used when All is BOBO + $1 coupons so 2 Alls cost 2.99). I have also seen people on Youtube stating their CVS takes expired MQ. I have never done any of these things and would be interested in feedback. I am fairly new to couponing and seem to get lots of conflicting info, as there seems to be lots of “gray” areas!
I have never asked for a raincheck for a “non” sales item but I have used expired coupons in my 1 of my CVS stores. I have 2 stores that I frequent and 1 store will allow me to use expired coupons up to 2 weeks if I have a raincheck (they also accept expired ECBs). The cashiers tell me that it’s not my fault that they do not have the item in stock so they will honor the expired coupon up to 2 weeks after the expiration. The other CVS will not honor any expired coupons (including ECBs) no matter the reason. You should really just ask the specific CVS store on their coupon policy.
I wanted to comment on this because back in November they had all of those free items, buy South Beach Bars for $4.99 get a $4.99 ECB. I was so excited about all of these deals they had 5 different ones, got to my CVS and they only had 1 deal left so I got it but the woman in front of me asked for rain checks for all of them and they gave them to her….I was shocked so I didn’t want to be greedy so I just asked for a rain check for my favorite deal (South Beach Bars) No exp. date I was so shocked that they did this then to make it even better I just cashed it in a week ago and it worked just like I had bought it that week!!!! CRAZY! Sorry this is so long just had to share!
I have used expired CVS coupons, I have also asked for rainchecks on sale items, and they have given it to me with an added note of what the ECB was to honor it as well
Was a moneymaker for me bc I had a 20% coupon. I paid $5 for 2 and got back a $6 ECB!
Has anyone tried it today?
Thanks in advance!
I just got back and the crest and schick were still working.
I just tried this deal yesterday night in Goleta, Ca. The crest 2.7 oz were $2.99 each and I bought two also, since they were regularly priced I used the 20% cvs coupon and got back 6 ECB!

Yes, it works! I’m new to couponing, so I called first. They told me there was 2.00 back in ECB (which is not the same as what’ here), so I chose to go in person. I bought 2 and it rang up with 6.00 in ECB back. Yeah! ๐
