What is Recyclebank?

If you’re new around here, you are probably wondering what the heck RecycleBank is!? RecycleBank partners with cities and haulers to reward households for recycling; households earn RecycleBank Points that can be used to shop at over 1,500 local and national businesses. Once you have signed up for an account, you can start earning points immediately by clicking on the “Earn Points” tab and taking quizzes. You can then use your points to purchase high value coupons for groceries and/or discounts at online stores. After signing in, click on the “Get Rewards” tab and you’ll be able to start scrolling through the rewards they have available.

    Thanks! 😉

For some reason the daily pledge has disappeared when I log in. It has been a few weeks since I last saw the button. I don’t get why.

go to the Earn Points tab at top and click. then find it at bottom left side.

E, log into your account, click under the earn points tab, log out of your account (up on the right by your name) and it will appear, then log in as normal. Hope you can understand my instructions. I just did it last nite.

Guess that is what I’ll have to do from now on. Thanks.

This is weird! I haven’t done that daily pledge in a long time because I thought it was over. I didn’t see it where Kathryn said so I logged out and then I saw it on the left. I clicked it, then logged in again and I had 5 points more. I wonder why I don’t see it when I’m logged in? I guess I will just have to do it the way I did today.
E, thanks for asking the question. And thanks, Kathryn and Lis, for helping.

i’m on a desktop, not a iphone. maybe that’s the difference???
i already did my 5 point pledge today. i also have it set up where it remembers my password and i just log in. so, i signed out, then entered password anew, signed in, and now i don’t see the daily pledge link on the earn points page, but maybe it’s because i already did it today. maybe i’ll see it again tomorrow, but don’t know.
also the earning thing collin mentions above, i don’t see yet either or maybe i’ve already did a day or 2 ago.

Fran, it resets at 6:00 p.m. central time! I love my Recycle Bank points.

        • Kathryn K

hey, you’re right! the daily pledge showed up again on the Earn Points page and i got it at 6:01 central. haha

        • fran

Thanks, Lis! I just got 5 points more. It baffles me as to why I’m not seeing it while I’m logged in, but oh well! 😉
I love how we Hipsters help each other! 😉

I don’t get too excited about recyclebank anymore. I haven’t found any coupons worth printing for more than 3 months. Coupons for Harris Teeter, tuna, Staples, plus others, are no longer available to print. Is anyone else having the same issue?

    • WCG

Recyclebank is virtually worthless, as far as I can tell. I’ve banked several thousand points, but like you’ve said, no longer anything of any real value to spend the points on. They showed a shocking lack of customer awareness when they severly restricted their Harris Teeter award to their proprietary “Home Recycling Program” enrollees, then stuck a finger in the eye of their customers by indicating that it was a “mistake” that the non-Home Recycling folks ever got the award to begin with. Harris Teeter CS says it is up to Recyclebank to change it back to a general award, but Recyclebank uses vague and illogical assertions to essentially indicate they can’t (or won’t) do this.

you can get a walmart gift card for 2,500 points

  4. Sandra

I’m saving my points for a Best Buy or Gap gift card 🙂

  5. Mary

I don’t bother printing coupons from them anymore….I save my points for gift cards. 🙂 Free gift card for just clicking on some articles and learning about recycling is not bad at all. I’m willing to do it gladly. I love Recyclebank 🙂

  6. Jamie

I’ve logged on and logged off and still nothing. I was able to build up to 1 reward (Walmart GC) and can hardly get anymore points. UGH!!

  7. Brittany

    I don’t see it either :(.
