Lolita says:
Anyone know if there are any health risks with raw honey? For little kids.. pregnant moms, etc?
Kb says:
Some sources say no honey under a year for babies due to the possibility of botulism but some sources say as they approach a year it’s ok. Sorry no links just my experience but just do a quick google search about honey and botulism and then use your best judgement.
Kb says:
Actually here’s a great website that says not under 12 monthes

Lolita says:
Thanks! Yes, I agree, I have always avoided it for babies, but I meant like 3 yr olds etc… Whenever I see raw I always worry… I don’t know for real, though… I wonder if for pregnant women (for the unborn child) botulism could be an issue… I’ve never heard that, but then again raw honey isn’t thaat common.
Katie says:
Hate to admit this but we used to drink raw milk. Everyone got sick in our family and several of the raw milk coop families. Very sick! Not sure about raw honey though. Might be good to do some research and at least know the risks!
Christina says:
Any honey raw or otherwise should not be given to anyone under 1 year of age. Honey can contain spores that will germinate in the babies intestines and cause botulism. Older people who are immunocomprimised or on a heavy antibiotic regimine should also avoid honey.
