I’m going to start protein shakes next week and they call for almond milk. I’ve never used it before and was wondering if the expiration date on this type of milk is about the same as regular milk. Thanks!
The expiration is much linger, although I think it usually says to use within about a week of opening.
Almond milk, once opened “expires 7 days after opening” as long as it kept refrigerated. The expiration date is way longer than regular milk. I bought some today that will not expire (as long as it has not been opened) until the end of May. I like the fact that I can stock up and not worry about it going bad.

I agree, and not only look for vanilla, but sweetened vanilla. It’s a few more calories (like 60), but it improves the taste a lot. I’m hooked on Green Monsters, and even my kids like ’em!
I’ve been mixing a half gallon of vanilla and half gallon of original in a pitcher and we love it. Vanilla is too sweet and original is bland so mixing is the perfect solution for us! 🙂
I think the general rule is to consume it 7-10 days after opening, but honestly it probably can last longer than that too… who knows. As long as it doesn’t taste weird or spoiled, I think it’ll be safe to drink. But as a general rule of thumb, unopened packages do last a lot longer than regular dairy milk.

Thanks! My dh just started drinking almond milk per his drs suggestion. I like silk bc they don’t have Carrageenan in it like other brands such as so delicious and almond breeze.
Oh, silk is $3.18@ Walmart. They just went up in price, used to be $2.98. And Winn Dixie usually puts silk on sale 2/$6 frequently.
