Walgreens Coupon Policy Now States They Will Not Adjust The Value Of The Coupon Down. The Manager At My Store Said They Changed It A Month Ago. He Said The Reason Was That ManufacturerA Were Not Honoring Them. Not Sure How True That Is, But That Is The Info I Received. Still Some Good Deals Though!

Anyone know if you can spend your Balance Reward Points on gift certificates?
How about Walgreens gift certificates. I have over 40,000 points and don’t know what to buy. I have to spend it all at once to get the total $50.
You can not use them for gift cards and you do not have to use all 40,000 points at once. Once you redeem you have the choose to use starting at $5 or $10 ect.. Its 5,000 per $5.
Yes, you are right, you do not have to redeem them all at once but if you take, let’s say 5000 off at a time, you do not get $50 you get $40.
Katie, the last time I got up to 40,000 points I waited until there was a rebate deal – bought 3 rebate items, total was $55, used a $5 coupon and my 40,000 points, submitted for the rebates online. I just got back a Walgreens rebate card for $60.50 (they added 10% if you chose a Wags GC), but you can also submit for a Visa gift card, or a check for what you paid (e.g. $55). That was just my way of using the points, but it might be helpful to you!

You need a balance of 5000 or more to redeem the points.
If you want to get the most for you points, you really want to hold out until you have 40,000 points. You get $50 to spend then. You make an extra $10. You do have to spend them all at once and not on things that you are getting more points on.
I just sent $50 on items that I would get RR back and that worked out great. Paid for everything with the points and got over $15 in RR’s at the end.
Made for a very sweet deal.

If I get RR from 1 transaction, can I use on the same day on my 2nd transaction?
Yes. Just make sure the 2nd transaction has different items so it won’t affect the printing of more RR.
When Walgreens had the Mitchum deodorant deal awhile back, I was able to keep rolling the RR for them. Has the usage of RR changed since then?
No, it hasn’t changed. Every once in a great while, we find out a RR is “rolling” (that it can be used again and again for the same item and still produce another RR), but that is rare. Usually you can’t roll a RR for the same product.
I actually just tried to roll it this morning and it did not print a RR. What a bummer.

the tampons are U by Kotex from Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.

You should be fine. RR’s only produce one, but points will just add up—you don’t have to buy the items one at a time. So if an item gives you 2,000 points and you buy 3 of that item in one transaction (and you don’t pay with points), you will get 6,000 points.
Caution on the Almay deal. Yesterday I bought two items but didn’t pay attention to the fact that after they took the 50% off the 2nd item I went below $15. So I didn’t get my 4000 points. But the per item price was still low with the $4 coupons.

I think the TEN 12-pack deal must be regional. It is not in the store ad. My store in Oregon has it for $3.99 before the $1 off Walgreens coupon, so $2.99 after coupon. Not a great deal.
I purchased the 2 liter TEN deal today for $1.00 and it gave me two $1.00 RR…wow..they paid me to take it!
How do the points work at Walgreens? If you spend them, do you still get the RR? Can you use partial points and do they carry over?
you can use points on RR items, and RRs on points items. You can’t use points on point items though. No to using partial points. If you have enough points for a $5 reward, your purchase must be $5 or more. If you use it on a $3 purchase, you loose the remaining $2. the points don’t carry over and start building up again.

I had issues at 2 Walgreens’ with the Almay coupons. They would not accept them and would not adjust them down because the difference was too great.
Sometimes that happens. I would, if you have the time, cancel your order and try another Walgreens. They understand.
Mine wouldn’t take the Almay coupons for makeup remover even after I pointed out that they advertised as cosmetics.
I am new couponing and I want to use the kotex coupon, but I don’t understand exactly how the RR work. I can use RR on my current transaction? I am also trying to understand the ten soda thing. Can someone explain this very slowly to me, as though I am from another planet (because right now I feel like I am!)?
The RR prints at the END of the transaction. So for the kotex deal, it is $3.99 and you use the $2/1 coupon. You end up paying $1.99, but then you get a $2 RR at the end so it is free. But just be careful, you cant use the RR for the same item and have it produce the RR again. For example, you cant buy the kotex again use a coupon and the Kotex RR and have it print another RR. I am going to do the kotex deal, with the $2/1 Q, and a 2 RR from a different item (then the RR will still print). So my out of pocket will be $0, and i will get my $2RR back.
The ten soda is priced at $1 and you get $1RR. You pay $1 and then you get a RR so basically it is free. If you have a RR from a different transaction you won’t have to pay any out of pocket….hope this all makes sense
So if you buy the tampons in transaction #1 and use your $2 coupon you will pay $1.99 plus tax and you will get a $2 RR printed. You can then buy the TEN soda 12 pack for $2.99 minus the $1 Walgreens coupon in the April booklet and use the $2 RR that printed from your first transaction and just pay tax. If you want to do the 2 liter TEN soda deal then buy one 2 liter for transaction #1. You will pay $1 and a $1 RR will print. Then buy the tampons in transaction #2 and use the $1 RR from the soda and the manufacturer Kotex coupon and only pay $1 plus tax. Does that make sense? Your goal is to spend as little out of pocket as possible! 🙂 Happy shopping and couponing!
Ok, so in transaction #1 I am going to get the 2 liter. I will pay the dollar, but the rr will print out a $1 at the end of my transaction. If I use the $1rr an the coupon on the tampons and pay another dollar? So in 2 transactions I will spend $2 total and leave with a 2 liter and a box of tampons? Couponing is hard!
you can’t use the $2RR from the Kotex to cover the remaining cost of the 12 pk after the $1 off Walgreens coupon, because the total will be $1.99…your $2RR will beep because it is a penny over the total 🙁 This is why Collin sometimes posts “filler” items such as cheap pencils, candy etc. so you have things to choose from to get you to the $ amount you need to use RRs…hope this makes sense and helps!
Wait, from the soda or the kotex? If I get the kotex with the coupon in the first transaction and pay the $1.99 plus tax, then I get a $2 register rewards. To use on my second transaction which is the 12 pack of soda. There is also a $1 Walgreens coupon (from the april insert?) for the soda, so if I get a pencil or something I can get the $3 discount and just pay tax, and of course whatever the pencil cost?

That $1/1 Walgreens coupon is from Walgreen’s monthly book (April) that should be at the front of your store with the weekly ads. Ask for it if you don’t see it. You don’t have to cut them out–they just scan it from the book.

Reading the previous comments I now know why my Walgreens wouldn’t take 2 of the 4 Almay coupons I had. The computer must not have read the 2 makeup removers I was purchasing as “cosmetics”, only the 2 lip glosses counted.
The cashier thought that because the coupons stated, “one coupon per purchase”, I should only be able to use one coupon?? I tried my best and said, “Yes, I have 4 purchases and 4 coupons all in one transaction.” Why do stores not teach their cashiers the difference between what is meant by “one per purchase” vs. “one per transaction”.

Did anyone else have trouble with the Crest Pro-health mouthwash ringing up at $5.49 instead of $2.99?? Went on my 30 minute lunch break and had many other items that worked fine with my Balance Rewards card.
