If you are not personally familiar with this brand of detergent, be sure to check out all the 4 and 5 star reviews….

The only detergent I use. It’s good. We have 4 boys who love to play outside, so I know ๐Ÿ˜‰

My mom used this detergent when I was young, and now I use it for my family. A large container of this product lasts at least 6 months in our large family!

We have used Ultra Plus for several years and recently decided to try another brand. Believe me, as soon as the new brand is gone, we’re back to Ultra Plus! There’s just no comparison.

I STILL HAVE MINE FROM LAST TIME IT WENT ON SALE AND IT LEAVES THE CLOTHES WITH A WHITE STAIN OR GIVE THEN AN ASHY DISCOLOR LOOK.

I totally agree! If I don’t mix the soap with hot water it doesn’t dissolve very well and the clothes come out with the powder still on them. So if you do get it I think it’s ‘okay’ soap however just plan on mixing it with hot water before you wash your clothes.

Same thing happened here! Just make sure not to dump the powder directly on the clothing. It will leave a white stain on dark colored clothing. The detergent seems to clean fine, but just make sure you mix it with water before adding clothes.

Sorry it hasn’t worked for you, I have been using this product for about 9 years now.. Get it at Sears once a year and it last me for about 9 or so months..depending on my laundry loads.. I have a front load washer/dryer.. Whirlpool Duet acutally..and it’s the best detergent I have used.. It is compared to Tide to me. I read that in Consumer Reports many years back and gave it a try.. I never have a residue or anything that you are speaking of. Someone posted below asking where to put this in the front load washer. You should have a drawer you pull out and it will have a compartment that you move the divider from liquid to powder. ( or at least that is how my Whirl Pool is).. If you are using it in a front load washer you are not putting it directly on clothing prior to water washing it into the drum. Love love love this product. thnx

I have some that I bought last time it went on sale but haven’t had any problems with it.

This is my favorite detergent! We have a front loader and like with any detergent, be sure NOT to use too much. I do have problems with the detergent not dissolving in a cold water wash, but I have found it works great when I wash on warm or on hot.

Question for front loads…I usually use liquid, but bought this. Do I add it in the detergent compartment or put it directly in the washer mixed with hot water? (So it will desolve like others said)

    • Sarah

      I use the detergent compartment.

Thanks Colin! I bought 3 boxes when you previously posted this deal and it is almost gone. I bought 5 boxes this time and got free shipping to my door. I haven’t noticed any problems with this detergent. We do A LOT of laundry and this detergent works well. I love being stocked up. Thanks again!

Kind of off topic but has anyone tried the powder version of Tide? I currently only use the liquid but kind of wondered how good the powder was. I only use cold water when washing and wasn’t sure if this was an issue with powder detergents?

I use Tide Coldwater liquid because my washer and dryer are not connected to a water heater. They had their own seperate one and when it died when never wanted to spend the mo ney to replace it. Plus I am on well water so in the winter, the water is super cold so I wait until a warmer day to do all the laundry! So I have to be picky about what I use. I used to use Tide powder but I feel like the liquid works best. I have also used the pods (from samples) and they dissolve quickly. I never have an issue with stains coming out or residue. I only buy it every few months when there is a sale and stock up. I used to do amazon but I have seen any good deals with them in about a year. I have been getting the smaller bottles at CVS. My price point is .08 an ounce, but the last few sales I have gotten it down to .05. I cant see why I would change to anything else when I can score great Tide deals like that.

I love Tide powder, but on a rare occasion it will leave a white powder residue on the clothes, when washing in cold water. I usually find this happens with an “extra large” load… (When I cram a little more than what I probably should for one load in the washer.) ๐Ÿ˜‰ Overall though, it works great… Better than the Tide liquid IMO.

Also, as far as all powders go, Tide has worked the best for me in cold water. The cheaper brands dissolve very poorly in cold water. Hope this helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love this stuff! I’ve had absolutely no problems!

We still are using our box from this time last year and we are a family of 4!!! It has a weird chemical smell, but I don’t smell it after the load is done washing…just smells clean ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Kristinkay

I’m still on the first box I bought from last time, and we’re a family of 4 too. We have he washer, and it works great. I enjoy fragrant smells, so I wish this had more fragrance, but we’re a little on the skin sensitive side so this works great.
