Getting this for Father’s Day – hubby loves Legos (and Star Wars) but they can be so expensive!

We are new to Legos (just getting out of Duplo). I don’t understand why anyone buys these new! Even this price is $.10 per lego! Some sets it’s $.25 per lego! Seems super expensive for a little piece of plastic. All legos are universal (they all fit each other) so I don’t understand paying premium when there are millions and millions of legos already out there. We’ll be scouting garage sales and thrift stores to build our collection. Happy Earth Day, Everyday! 🙂

I do a ton of garage sales and in my experience, it is incredibly difficult to find the regular sized Legos. It’s pretty easy to find Duplos but I think most people must hold onto their Legos. I agree, I would much rather buy used but it hasn’t been easy, so I watch for sales and any other ways to get the new sets cheaper 🙂

I agree that it’s hard to find legos are garage sales. Most kids want the sets as the come out. The come out with lego sets to match certain movies and those are going to be very hard to find at garage sales.

If you have a LEGO store near you, you can go to their “brick wall” and buy a quart size cup filled with “you picked them”, open stock LEGO bricks for $15 something. keep the cup for $0.50 off refills. you can get a lot of LEGOs in a quart size cup.

that’s true…and im glad they have tutorials on youtube, so i just make a note of which ‘types’ of legos, so i know which ones to pick =)
