If you’re a Shop Your Way Rewards member and live in any of the areas recently affected by the tornadoes and severe storms, be sure to check your email for a possible $10 in bonus points (i.e. 10,000 Shop Your Way Rewards points). The email will have the subject line “A small gesture from Sears to help with recovery” and will be coming from the email address rewards@rewards.shopyourwayrewards.com.

Here’s what Megan over at Just Call Me Mom just sent me via email….

[h2s_box]I just received an email from Sears/Kmart and confirmed that they had deposited 10,000 Shop Your Way Reward Points into my account. The email says it is to help with supplies for disaster relief because of the recent tornadoes. I’m not sure if it is only for people in the affected areas or everyone but it couldn’t hurt to look. The points expire on May 29, 2013 [/h2s_box]

I hope that all of you in these affected areas received the same email. Kudos to Sears and Kmart – what a great thing to do!

(Thanks, Just Call Me Mom!)

Ok that was nice of them but I’m sure most of the people effected in that area are not going to be jumping on a computer right now they have bigger problems to deal with . And for it to expire May 29 that is just not right

  2. Ashley

I got the email and I am in ATL, GA. This will be a great way to pay it forward! Just texted REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief Oklahoma tornado victims!! 🙂

  3. paula

I just checked and got 15,000 which equals $15 expiring on may 29th, would have never checked if not for your post, thank you, now I will be figuring out how much stuff I can get to donate. I live about an hour away from Moore but my kids school is taking donations on Friday, Thank you again!

  5. jennifer e

i got one for $4, but i’m nowhere near the affected area. my email said it was for being a loyal customer.

  6. brandice

  7. gohogsgoinar

I’m in Arkansas and got 6,000

  8. Tarri

Got 4000 points but I only can spend it in Jewelry. A couple weeks ago it was for Garden only. Last week it was for anything, so I got my great nephew underwear and a pair of infant/toddler girl socks to put in my baby shower gift. I paid .11 for all of it. Maybe I can find some jewelry on sale.

    • gohogsgoinar

I had Kmart only points and they worked at Sears too. I think it’s a “suggestion” to use them in that store and department but not a requirement. 🙂

    • shalini

You can buy anything, not just jewellery.

      • Tarri

Thanks, I will have to try it in other department to see if it works.

  9. Kim

Wow. $10 in points and I’m in St. Louis. No email about it either.

  10. Tricia

I am in FL and got 10,000!!

    • wench1109

      Me too.
Said it was because I was in the area affected by the tornadoes.

  11. mommyaudie

I received 10,000 “for being a loyal customer”. Not too shabby! ^_^

    • mommyaudie

I should mention I’m near St. Louis, MO.

  12. I Love Shoes

    I’m in Georgia. I received 15,000 points.

    • Susan

I’m right outside Atlant and got 15,000 points, too…not sure why. Far from the tornado…

  13. Andrew

I am from NJ and when Superstorm Sandy hit in Late October, they gave me points to aid relief. I did not know about it until my points were to expire and my local Kmart’s shop your way system was down. I e-mailed them to not let those points expire and they said that if my local store had issue to just use the points online instead and they let the points expire.

  14. Bree

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been getting $4 worth of points every week. I just used some that were going to expire yesterday, and today I gave another $4. I live in Texas, and I don’t have a Kmart by me, so I’ve signed up for free shipping for 3 months. I’ve already received over $ 20 on points from the past few weeks.

  15. Nandry

Nothing for me. Im in Albany, KY

  16. Carol

I live in Oklahoma and received no extra points.

    • Amber

Is there a way to transfer points? I received 10,000 but I’m in Wisconsin. I’d much rather you have them.

      • Carol

That’s sweet, but I think there is a way you can transfer them to the red cross. We live in Tulsa and were spared from the direct hit. We are working with a church in OKC with relief efforts. We moved to OK from FL two years ago, and we are still trying to get use to the sirens going off. Hurricanes were much easier to prepare for!

        • Amber

Ok, thanks for letting me know 🙂

  17. Kay S.

I live in Arkansas and just received $4 if I spend at least $10 in Sears. Thanks Collin for telling us about it or I would have deleted the email.

  18. May

I got $4 worth of points about 3 weeks ago… but I forgot to redeem it then the following week they raised the amount (since I haven’t redeem?? ) to $5 worth of points last week and this week.

    • May

I just got $15 worth of points! I also got $5 worth of points on top of that 🙂
We live in OK. My youngest one needed new clothes! Thank you for letting us know, Collin!!

  19. Elaine

I got this too and I am in GA.

  20. Samy

  21. Suzanne

  22. Brooke

A little off topic, but I’m new to Kmart – I just used a coupon yesterday for $10 in points with a $35 purchase. How long does it take for it to post to your account?

  23. Kelli

I got $15 worth and I’m in FL!

  24. Jackie

Thank You for posting this. I just checked and saw the email. I live in KS and they sent me $10.

  25. VictoriaBF

I got $10 and I am in Louisville, KY. Not at all close to that storm. How strange.

  26. Diane

  28. E

  30. Steph

How do you know you many points you have? I have been getting emails about once a month saying something about $3, but I don’t even know how you redeem these. Anyone?

    • E

if you buy something, use your shop your way rewards card. the $3 credit (if it isn’t expired) is on that member card. the cashier should deduct the credit balance on the purchase.

    • VictoriaBF

It gives you an option to redeem points online as well during check out. You need to enter your card number and pin and click “redeem points”. Also, you can see how many points you have and special coupons when you log in into your rewards account: https://www.shopyourway.com/ You don’t need to remember this link – just click on “ShopYourWayRewards” icon on the left top corner on Sears.com or Kmart.com and you will be taken to your account. It’s actually very easy to redeem points. HTH 🙂
