I went to our local Super Target here at Indio, CA this afternoon. I bought 5 items and I have a coupon for each item. The supervisor approached the cashier and then told me that I can only use two coupons per transaction per day and that I have to come back after 24 hours to use another two. She said they are running out of products so she cancelled 3 of the items I am supposed to buy. There is a long line waiting after me so I did not say anything anymore. THEY ARE RUNNING OUT OF PRODUCTS?? can’t understand this, are they not aware that manufacturers will pay them?.Will they ran out of products if I buy 5 different items and use a coupon for each?
Two coupons per transaction a day….Is this a new Target Policy?
Maybe call corporate and see what the problem is. I haven’t heard anything like that at my Target. They always let me use multiple coupons in one transaction.
I had the same problem in NE Philadelphia.
They only allow me to use 2 manufacturer coupons in one transaction.
The one on Aramingo? The one on Snyder in South Philly allows 8 coupons per transaction (according to one cashier there). Some cashiers there triple check the fine print and make a big deal when combining mfr and target coupons on one item. Because of that I rarely go to Target unless its an amazing deal because its such a hassle
On the back of every target ad it does say that the stores have the right to restrict quanities this is so all Target guests have the opportunity to receive the sale prices. So maybe that is what the supervisors was saying, not restrict the coupon but the product.
That is meant for the same item,like if she tried to buy 10 of the same item, then manager could say that she could only buy one or two. If she purchased Five different items, then she def needs to contact corp. I would have asked her to show me where it says that and let her know I was calling corp.
I am a GSTL (front checkout manager) at Target and this is definitely not a new company-wide policy. There are limits on the coupons according to the fine print on the coupon itself and there is a limit otherwise of 4 identical coupons per transaction, but I’ve never heard of only allowing 2 manufacturer’s coupons. If you were using them within the limits of the fine print, I would contact corporate about it. Stores do have a right to limit quantities of items, but not refuse to sell any at all to you. If you were buying 5 identical items, it would make sense, but not if you were buying entirely different ones.
Can’t understand Target anymore….it’s probably time to say goodbye…
Target treats couponers like criminals sometimes. Geesh! My friend and I did an experiment. We each purchased multiples of the same items. We went to different checkouts. I used coupons; she did not. She was able to buy as many products as she wanted. Once I pulled out my coupons, I, however, was told I could only buy two of each of the items….
Is it their way of getting rid of couponers like us??
I’m sorry to hear that people are having problems, but don’t get started away from trying because not all Target stores are like this. I have never had a single problem at my store, and in fact they have frequently gone out of their way to be sure things work out if there is glitch.
I agree with you,not all of them refuse coupons and couponers. I had a bad experience with the closest target from my house twice with one of the managers because of my coupons, after that I went a couple of weeks ago to the same place and when she saw me with a cashier during the payment she came and start to recheck every single item and compare and read every single coupon one by one. I felt intimidated and embarrassed because she made drama and everybody look at me. Every coupon was correctly used of course but she treated me like a thief . That was my end with this target store. Now, I drive 5 more miles away in a new target store where they are really friendly with coupons..that was my experience. I think that the real problem is that not all target store are trained equally about coupon uses.

I love the Tai Pei Asian Garden Entrees, and this is a great deal on them, but can’t seem to find them in my local Targets. (They even tried to pull the item up in their hand-held device to see if other larger Targets had them, but it wasn’t even in their system.) : (

same here about the Tai entrees. Tried when I had a BOGO that I got in Dec ’12 that expired on 4/30 and I had NO luck finding them. I had this happen with the Pretzel crisps too, although I know they carry them just the shelves were whipped clean when there were the BOGO and $1/1 coupons last month =(
I am pretty sure they will be coming soon 🙂 My target did not carry them up until this week, they went all crazy and rearranged the frozen section and they added these this brand 🙂 So hopefully the same will happen to your local Target 🙂

If you have a Safeway nearby, they have a BOGO coupon you can load onto your just4U Card, stack with the print BOGO coupon and you have 2 free for every coupon you print. Remember you have to do this in one transaction since the j4u is a one-time coupon. I printed 2 paper coupons so I got 4 free. 🙂

I hate to hear that Target is getting unfriendly with coupons like Walgreens. I stopped shopping Walgreens for that reason. I will miss Target if they do that at my Target here.
** FYI **, my sister and I went to Target today and bought the T-Shirt & Tank deal, the Shopkick Coupon turns into a Target Mobile coupon, so then you can only use ONE Target coupon either the Shopkick OR the paper coupon, so you only get ONE $5 off instead of two. The computer beeps and up on the screen it says something like “Coupon has already been applied to these items” and then the cashier looks at them both. But still a GREAT deal if you need shirts or tanks!!!
