Last week when I used a coupon with an item that I was supposed to get a register reward for, the reward didn’t print. The cashier said that if you use a manufacturer coupon with an item, you won’t get the RR. When I got home I checked the coupon policy, but it didn’t say anything about this. Anyone have this issue or could clarify this for me?

    • The Disaster Crafter

Did you use a register reward from the same item? If you buy colgate and get the $2 RR, you can’t use the RR to get another colgate RR. Walgreens doesn’t allow you to “roll” RR deals

      • Beth

Nope. I used used two MC.

        • Brooke Watson

I had a cashier tell me the same thing once…but it’s never been true. Are you sure you bought the right product size? The RR’s are always very fickle.

      • Cheryl

I had the same thing happen the VERY first time I ever couponed at Walgreens, which was last Sunday. I brought the coupon policy WITH me, in case I had any issues, which I had MANY! The cashier told me because I used a manufactured coupon, I wouldn’t get the RR. I pulled it out, and asked politly, “will you show me that in your policy? I didn’t know, and I read it about 5 times”. She smiled back, and called her manager up front. We had to manually calculate all of the RR I was suppose to receive. At the end, I ended up getting a gift card that was suppose to have the RR for my next trip. Just bring the policy with you. There is NOTHING on it saying you can’t use a MC when you are trying to get an RR as well.

        Hope it helpes!

    • maren mathis

what item did you buy? I bought the smart fiber thinking that the rr replied to all of them. Come to find out the rr was only for one specific item. And the cashier was wrong in telling you that. Unless u did what The Disaster Crafter said

      • Beth

It was the colgate coupon deal for last (well, technically still this) week.

        • Teresa B

This happen to me. I bought the Colgate toothpase in order to get the $2.50 RR. In the ad it even shows the use of a $0.50 coupon to get the toothpaste for free. I pointed that out to the cashier and she said yes even with a coupon you should still get the RR. A manager asked if I used any RR to make the purchase and I said no. We finally figured out I had bought the wrong size. I bought a bigger size that was the same price. So I kept that one and went back and bought another one and this time it spit out a RR. It can be very frustrating to make sure all the details are just right.

          • daltonjsmom

Be careful–this happened to me last week also b/c the tag was in the wrong place!

    • Crystal

I’ve had cashiers and even some managers tell me this as well. This is NOT true. You can absolutely get a register reward on items that you use a coupon for. I bought 3 RR items today at wags and used coupons on all 3 and all 3 RR printed out just fine.

      • Beth

Thanks. At least I know for sure now!

    • KP

There could have been something wrong with the machine that prints the RR. The same thing happened to me, and when I kept asking questions about the false info the cashier was giving me, she realized the machine was giving an alert beep. Once it was fixed, the RR printed fine.

      • Beth

The cashier was about 12, so he probably didn’t know what was going on.

        • Lauren

Their Catalina printer might not have been working. I’ve had to ask for them to print out a rebate for me to mail in to corporate for a RR that didn’t print b/c all the catalina printers were down. If you ever don’t get a RR you can just talk to a manager.

        • Deb

Or, in my case last Sun. morn, one that was about 85-she insisted I couldn’t use my $2/1 2-pk toothbrush Q on one pack. My goodness! She got so frazzled I asked her to get the mgr. She did. Ah-hem…you know the rest. hehehehe

  2. Terry

Thanks Collin for all you do!!:)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re most welcome!

  3. Jenny Martin

The Lever 2000 coupon promotion is no longer available

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Thanks for letting me know!

  4. melissa

I got to tell you, I love shopping at Walgreen more than Rite Aid now πŸ™‚ my cashiers are supper nice!!!! Rite Aid cashiers are so rude. I’ve over heard them gossip about the couponer while we shopping.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      πŸ˜€

    • Carol_R

I guess I’m fortunate but all of the cashiers at my local Walgreens, CVS & Rite Aid are all very nice.

    • susan

I personally way prefer Rite aid to Wags. wags coupon policy is the pits!! It’s such a pain in the rear!!!

      • Karen

I think it’s a pain to shop at wags. It’s always something. Too many hoops to jump through compared to cvs and rite aid. I still shop there but not nearly as much.

        • Conswalla

I stay away from WAGS. Just always a hassle.

        • Steph

I’ve recently restarted shopping at Walgreens after about a year hiatus. I agree, too many hoops. Really dread going there, but sometimes Mama just needs a good deal. πŸ™‚

    • Jan

It must be your store. I love the cashiers and the manager at my Rite Aid. They greet me by name and give me tips on markdown products that work with coupons. They said that they have had a lot of trouble with couponers that wipe out the shelves and try to use coupons on products that the coupon doesn’t apply to, but they like that I don’t abuse the system, even though I coupon heavily.

  5. R

Unless I’m not finding the right coupon (help!?) the Quilted Northern coupon on coupons.com is off a 12pk – the one on sale is a 9pk.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Well darn! πŸ™ Thanks for catching that – just updated. Still a good deal!

      • R

Okay, thank you! I thought I was missing the coupon or needed a specific zip.

  6. maren mathis

There is a colgate 360 coupon in the ss 6/2 $1.00/1 you should be able to use with the colgate deal

    • maren mathis

never mind the coupon expires today πŸ™

  7. Nancy Berry

I totally agree with you about rite aid employees. They treat you very rude. It’s like your’ taking money out of their pocket. I rarely shop there anymore because of this.

    • Crystal

omg, ITA. i don’t like shopping at my local rite aid because of the employee’s attitude.

      • LaToya

I think it’s all in the people and the store, not necessarily the company. My nearest Wags is the worst. The assistant manager who is there when I go is the worst, and completely anti-coupon. I go down the street to another Wags and from top to bottom they are so so kind and helpful. The Rite Aid I go to is very very coupon friendly and will bend over backwards to help you and make sure that you got all your +Ups, etc.

        • Jean

I agree with LaToya…depends on the store. Out of 4 Rite Aids I have shopped at only one is TOPS for couponers. I will continue to give them my business just for that reason! They bend over backwards to help you.
I find Walgreens coupon policy more difficult, but the employees are nice about it at the stores in my area.
Seems like the deals just aren’t what they were a few years ago though….

  8. juliesvoyage

Thanks for the early match ups!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are most welcome! πŸ™‚

  9. Linda

Can someone please help me understand how you get 2 boxes of the Corazonas Oatmeal squares for free?

If they are buy one get one free, how can they both be free?? If you use the coupon, will that take off the price of the other box?

Geez, this higher math is killing me lately πŸ™‚

    • Tabitha

I tried this deal today and it didn’t work. The coupon beeped and the cashier said since I was already getting one free I couldn’t use a coupon on the other one.

      • brandice

The q worked perfectly for me this morning in Atlanta..no beeps. You can just get the bars, get a filler item for like 25 cents and u in good

    • Kari

Worked for me, yet she did have to push it through.

    • Rebe

It did not work for me in Western Mass. The cashier did not say anything concerning the B1G1, she actually tried to help, but to no avail. I had fillers just in case. They also rang at $1.49, not $1.29. I went to a different Walgreens and tried the trick of not scanning my card, I also tried buy only a pair instead of 4. Same thing, it didnt work. Are they any good? πŸ˜‰

    • Steph

This deal should work for everyone, since it is a store BOGO sale combined with a manufacturer BOGO coupon. (Basically, the store is paying for one free item and the manufacturer is paying for the other free item.) While you can’t use two manufacturer BOGO coupons to get two items free (because the manufacturer would wind up paying for both free items), the above-listed scenario is perfectly legitimate, since both the store and the manufacturer (separately) have decided to offer a BOGO deal.

      • Rebe

I totally agree with you Steph but either the coupon is not coded correctly or the Walgreens system in my area does not read it correctly, but I tried 2 store and no luck. Just to clarify, I was NOT trying to use 2 Qs for 2 bars, I had a pair of bars per Q.

  10. darcy

Does anyone know where I can ever get a good deal on DREFT?

    • Sara

never had any luck finding coups or much discount on dreft… i switched to a diff brand that smelled/worked the same but was MUCH less $$$. good luck!

    • I

I’ve used ALL Baby before. Much cheaper than Dreft. My Walmart carries it.

    • Samantha

Do you use the Pampers Gifts to Grow program? If so, for 1,250 points you can get a coupon for a free Dreft product.

    • Autumn Crow VanMeter

I use Purex Baby. It’s only like $3.50 for a 66 load bottle at WalMart πŸ™‚ I love the smell, but I’ve stocked up on plenty of Free & Clear/Sensitive kind, so I can use that after I run out of the baby kind.

  11. Beth

The Biotrue coupons are for 10 ounces or larger.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! I’m updating now… thanks for the heads up on the size.

  12. Ana

    There’s a Catalina for Velveeta Cheesy Skillets . Buy 4 get $3, till July 7, buy 2 get $1 and buy 3 get $2.

    • Rebe

Thanks Ana, did u try it?

      • Ana

Not yet. I’ll def will do it tomorrow. Got the info from Wags register. It wasn’t an RR nor a coupon. Just an info it spit out.

        • Rebe

Thanks for sharing. They had ony 3 at my Wags so I will wait until tomorrow and try at a different one. Please share if it worked for you today.

          • Ana

I tried it today and it worked. Bought 4 boxes, uses two $1/2 coupon, paid $6 plus tax and got back $3 RR.

            • Ana

Also, This deal is good until 07/07/13.

    • Rebe

I googled it and I am afraid is good only at Shop Rite.

      • Rebe

Thanks for sharing Ana, I am going to take my chances too! πŸ™‚

  13. liz

I tried the corazonas and it beeped too..I even brought the policy with into 2 stores and nope they still wouldn’t let me but…if you don’t put your Walgreen card in..swipe the 2 squars..then give the coupon..then say let me put my number in or swipe your card…bing t works! as for the sinful brand nail polish…it chips off quick and is dull when applied but I just use a topcoat and its shiny again.. I do like them only cause they have crazy colors that other brands don’t so thumbs up for me

    • Wendy Girl

Thanks for the tip, will try this!

  14. Sara

i agree with liz… sinful brand is ok for the price. works better for pedis than manis since my toes don’t see dishwater, etc… πŸ™‚ just my 2 cents.

  15. brooke

Just an FYI on the “sinful colors” nail polish… In my personal opinion, it is VERY cheep in quality. They have a lot of great colors but the polish will start to chip and come off after a couple days!

    • daltonjsmom

Totally agree! Bought a gorgeous green for St. Patrick’s Day and it was horrible. It took at least 4 coats to get to the color of the bottle b/c it was so thin. Then it chipped off before the end of the day, even with a higher-quality top-coat. I wouldn’t buy it again, unless it was a MM and then I would donate it instead of using it.

  16. Danielle

I’m surprised to hear bad reviews on sinful colors. I think it’s great. Even my mom who is a janitor and does things that destroy her hands. She swears that it’s the only stuff that lasts halfway decent with as hard as she is on it. I guess maybe it depends on the color. Or maybe you guys are used to better brands in general and I always use cheap brands. Maybe it’s just good for a cheap brand. But I’ve used the Opi stuff before too and despise that brand. Don’t know. I guess YMMV. But we love the brand here!

    • mar

i agree, it works really well for me too, i have around 20 of them. I think some of the colors dry matte (so it looks a little strange without a top coat, if you’re not into that look) but imo it lasts on my nails better than essie or OPI.

  17. lee

have a question. i usually buy my newspapers from cvs using my ecb’s to buy them but since i have none this week will walgreens let you use the rr to buy newspapers. i read the rr and it says nothing about newspapers. i use to buy them at rite aid with my ups but they stopped letting you use ups on newspapers about a year ago. i try to keep my oop as little as possible even when i buy newspapers. i usually get 4 papers a week and save enough ecb’s to buy them but i had to buy lancets and meds for my son and i used them all this week. does anyone use rr to buy papers?

    • TAMI

I use my to buy papers when there are no deals I like for register rewards.

    • Krista

Yes, I’ve used RRs to buy newspapers.

  18. tabitha

Isn’t there a $3 off coupon for diapers in the walgreens june booklet so huggies diapers should be $3.49 each?

    • Jill

Yes, but it specifies 52 to 86 pk of Little Movers or Snug and Dry, or Pull Ups 42 to 56 pk. I don’t think it would work on the smaller size πŸ™

  19. nancy

NO TIME TO SEARCH RIGHT NOW. Colgate 360 has a $1 coupon 6/2 SS.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yep, but it expires today, 6/22. Darn! πŸ™

  20. paula

Thanks for the heads up on where to find the oatmeal squares because me and my sister looked everywhere today(or so we thought) and could not find them, lol.

    • Sheryl

Walgreens and Rite-Aid depends on the store and some of the employees. I am getting my favorite in each. I have store managers in Rite-Aid who are super nice to me and all my coupons. One store manager even noticed me when I shopped another location that she happened to be working at that day. I chat them up a lot while they work. I did not shop WAGS for a long time until balance rewards started. They switch employees a lot at WAGS. I think the managers get tired of being called with my coupon problems. I had one manager at WAGS out of her way to help me since she thought that I was having too many problems with my balance rewards and sale prices.

  21. Jamia

Dentist offices often have oral care coupons available for patients. If you don’t see any around when you visit, it doesn’t hurt to ask! At my last appointment, I picked up some Colgate toothbrush and toothpaste coupons that don’t expire until 12/31. They also had Listerine coupons available. I’ll definitely use a $1 off Colgate 360 (or Total) toothbrush coupon this week!

  22. Kari

Wow this is a great idea, no idea if it will work but it should I’m guessing!

  23. Mel

Anyone else have issues w/ the purex buy 1 get 2 free deal this week? I had a coupon for a free bottle so I should have received 3 bottles free but the cashier insisted that she could only take $1.83 off for the coupon that stated free up to $6.00. She said that since it was buy 1 get 2 free she divided the cost of one bottle at $5.49 by 3. I have NEVER had a store say that! I asked for the manager and was told that I would have to come back on Monday to talk to the store mananger.

  24. stacy g

Albertson’s also has the arm and hammer detergent pods, the 20 count for 1.99 and with the 1.00 off of 2 coupon it ends up being 3.00 for 2 bags of 20.

  25. Emily McEntire

What zip code is the $6/2 Schick coupon under??

  26. faith

i used to be able to always find coupons by the dates given here, but for the past few months every one i look for i can never find?? SO WEIRD! I just looked for both all coupons and cant find either…??

  27. Liam

Schick coupon is nowhere to be found… I printed this before but expired 5/28..

  28. H.M.

Can you use the 1.50 off coupon for one febreeze air effects and the buy one febreeze Air affects get one free stick and refresh coupons together?

  29. Brianne

Ii don’t think the aerosol arrid is included? I was really hoping it was!!!!

  30. vanessa

I think it makes a huge difference who your cashier is. There is only ONE nice cashier at my walgreens. All others are rude and mean. They just absolutely hate it when you use coupons. The cashier I had yesterday had trouble, in TWO separate transactions, entering my reach toothbrush coupon $2. She said since she pressed the “total” button, she cannot enter the reach coupon (she had it set aside and said will enter it at the end) but never did. To avoid redoing the entire transaction, I just left it so I ended up paying the extra $4. Also, the colgate RR did not print and I had the manager tell me the same old lame excuse, that because I used a .50 coupon on colgate, the RR will not print. I am thinking what BS but did not bother arguing with her. She seemed to have her “alarm bell” on and not so in the mood to explain since been there for over an hour. So left store with no colgate RR given and 2 reach coupons $4 not used. πŸ™ ps. ferndale, washington wags.

    • Rebe

The Reach coupon didnt work for me either.

  31. Susan

Biotrue BOGO 50% can make really good deal if you still have coupon $2.50 that previously sent to you upon requesting sample.

  32. wags ba

as a wags beauty advisor for the people saying sinful is awful it is actually one of the better polishes out there i have tried all of them i highly recemnd sinful it is good quaility for the price and color selection but if u feel it not good enough i also highly like sally hansen loreal and essie but essie is 8.00 a bottle so out of most people range but all of them chip eventually inless u use a product like sensationail which is uv gel polish and pricey kit is 60.00 polishes 12.00to 15.00 all in all i buy sinful alot and find it to be effective for the lady who said it has no shine they have a new sinful shine line but it is 3.99 it also helps to do a sally hansen wraps under the polish to use a nail dryer and let it dry well between each coat i do 2 and to use a top coat on top or the sally hansen wraps again just from my experince

  33. wags ba

im in cincinnati and in all 6 of my papers i got only the red plum did that happen to anyone else i thought there was supposed to be a smart source to

    • mar

that’s funny, my mailed papers only had smart sources

      • wags ba

where are u at mar because im so upset most of the good coupons in the smart source ugh sometimes i think the paper workers are lazy and dont put them in

        • mar

nyc. there weren’t any exciting q’s in my SS for me anyway this week, other than the coppertone.

  34. Vnsa

JUST TRIED BIOTRUE DEAL. 4oz NOT RINGING UP BOGO 50% AND NO REWARDS POINTS WITH OF TWO!

  35. Ger

For the Wags hearing aid batteries deal B1G1, use $5 from June booklet, it only took off $5, not $10. Cashier said it’s because the other packet is free. Would have loved to get them both for 2.99 total, but win some lose some!

    • wags ba

they have changed alot of that stuff so u dont get as good of deals as u used to it gets frustrating

  36. Jason

Check your Walgreens stores for this deal: Today I bought 4 packages of Xtreme3 4 packs, included with these 4 packs were a free prebundled 4 pack! So I got 4 packs of 8 with the B1G1 50% off, and was able to use 2 $6/2 coupons! My packs were $8.99 plus $4.49 = $13.48×2 for 26.96- $12.00 coupons. I paid $14.96 for 32 razors!

  37. Bonnie

I bought the BOGO Walgreens hearing aid battery 16 count. The system only took off $5 even though cashier scanned it 2x.

  38. rachael

There is a mail in rebate on pantene expert collectio for $10 when you buy $20. If you go to the webpickup page and sech for the product and click “see more savings” it automatically will download. Makes for a killer deal on these products!!

  39. Pam

Where is the pic of the Sinful polishes from?…trying to figure out what the color on the far right might be…lol… πŸ™‚

  40. Pam

I don’t have a hard copy yet, but when I looked at the online ad, it didn’t list eye products in the B1G1 50% off Maybelline sale…not sure if it’s correct…will find out when I go.

    • Pam

I went today…the actual ad does list eye products, so guess was just an error on the electronic ad…

  41. Samantha

Alright I’m totally confused! I did a few of the above transactions and I have 1075 points I can’t account for and missing the 2000 points for buying 2 of the colgate…here’s what I purchased: 2 Corazonas Choc. Chip Oatmeal Bars, 2 Packages of Huggies little movers slips ons, 4 Colgate advanced mouthwash (2 peppermint and 2 spearmint) and for some reason the spearmint ones rang up 2 @2.99 instead of showing $2/6 on the receipt like the peppermint ones did, 2 Sinful nail polish, 2 ban deodorant, 1 colgate toothbrush 360 clean. On the receipt it shows rewards earned as followed:

    1075-????
    500-Ban deodorant
    1000-Sinful nail polish
2000-I’m guessing this is from the colgate that actually rang up $2/6

Am I missing something?? The 4 Colgates I purchased were the 8.45 oz just two different flavors, seems like it’s only on the one flavor of Colgate or should I have done two different transactions? Any insight would help lol!

    • Pam

I had the same problem with the Colgate mouthwash…I bought one of each, one rang up at $2.99, but other at $3.29 & it did not give me my points…I went back in and the cashier rang up two of the same one (the one that rang up correctly at $2.99 the first time, think it was the blue one??), but it still did not give me my points…grr!! Guess I’ll check online and will have to email them… πŸ™

  42. Dee

Ok, I have a question my local walgreens had duct tape on sale for $.99. And in the walgreens store coupon booklet there is a $1 off coupon. my cashier (assistant manager) said there was no way of lowering the store coupon value so therefor she couldn’t use that coupon for the duct tape. Is this true? My understanding was that they would lower the value of the coupon to match the price of the item.

  43. xna

It is going to be my first time to shop at walgreens tomorrow. I just signed up for the bslance rewards the other day. I am planning to do the colgate mouthwash deal. I have a question regarding the ads. What does the “with card ” means??????
    TIA

    • Pam

It means that you only get the sale prices, register rewards & balance points if you sign up for the Balance Rewards Program and have the cashier scan your card. Colin has a link to more info regarding the program at the top of this post. Hope that helps!

  44. Ellen

I live in WI and the coupon for the oatmeal squares would not ring up. The cashier told me I could not use it because I was already getting one free. He called the manager and she said the same thing. So I could not use them. I just had them nicely take it off my order as I did not want to cause a fuss. What is going on?

    • Steph

It’s so sad when even management doesn’t know their own policies. Per Walgreens’ own coupon policy page (available online), they will accept up to two coupons on a BOGO store promotion. As for “already getting one free,” yes, you’re getting one free…from Walgreens. The other one you would be getting for free from the manufacturer. Coupons are legitimate substitute for legal tender (i.e., cash). Therefore, you ARE paying for one of the items…with your coupon (which they then redeem in order to be reimbursed). I say go back and give them a coupon lesson! πŸ˜‰

  45. Jen

Pond’s luminous clean cream cleanser 6 oz, towelettes 30 pk, cold or dry skin cream 9.5 or 10.1 oz $5.99 = 3,000 Balance Rewards Points (= a $3 reward)
    Final cost $2.99!

The 3,000 Balance Reward Points are on the purchase of two items.

  46. Casey

I didn’t see the BOGO on the Acne Free– not in store or in the ad?
