My scentsy brand warmer almost burned down my house. Be careful with these!! My warmer was plugged in but not clicked on and in the middle of the night it started throwing sparks. My husband was luckily awake to unplug it, but my bookshelf was destroyed.

I have bought Scentsy for my wife and am now in the process of becoming a member of the local retailers for the company. I have never had problems with the warmers nor have I ever heard of any issues with the warmers. I would respectfully ask if you had the socket checked. I know that if the wiring wears out over time or if something corrodes the electrical wiring it might cause a problem. More than that, if the problem is your outlet and NOT the warmer, than any item plugged in may have the same outcome and could pose a danger.; the instructions that come with the warmers specify that the warmers should not be left on for more than four hours to protect the integrity of both the warmer and the wax. As well, in our house we try to keep all small electrical appliances unplugged to reduce the over all energy consumption in our home. I am sorry for your misfortune in your home and wish you all the best. As a side note, we have tried the Glade wax melts and non Scentsy warmers and like them quite well. Thanks, Collin!

There is nothing wrong with my outlets. I am happy you have enjoyed your scentsy however mine almost burned down my house and I feel the need to share this with others.

Jamie, as a Scentsy consultant with happy customers for the last 5 years I can tell you that Scentsy will want to have that warmer returned so they can test it and see what is going on, they are all about quality. I’d advise to contact the consultant you got it from, Scentsy will replace it or offer another if it is no longer available. Even if you do not want the replacement they will probably still send a return label for testing. 🙂

I usually buy the $2 Better Homes and Gardens wax melts at Walmart. They’re not as good as Scentsy though.
