I don’t shop t Walgreens often but do you get the rewards right away printed as a coupon? Can you roll them? Also, has anyone had trouble using the Almay coupons on makeup removers? It seems like Walgreens categorizes makeup removers as cosmetics on their weekly ad.

    • Susie

I am wondering about rolling them, as well. Anyone know?

      • Shay

Are you asking if you get the register rewards as a coupon or the balance rewards as a coupon. When you buy something that says $Register rewards after you buy said product will print a coupon with the amount on it. They balance rewards doesn’t print in a coupon form but it’s shows on your receipt after you purchase something that get balance rewards or you can also go to walgreens.com and check it. What do you mean by roll them?

Yesterday I had trouble using the $2 in store coupon for the Almay make-up remover. I was not able to use the coupon since when it was scanned the register said no matching item and the cashier said I could not use it since the make-up removers where not considered face or eye cosmetics. Not sure if other people are having this problem at their Walgreens.

    • jess

Yep I work at Wags and I tried to purchase some Almay makeup removers. Now, if you have a good cashier we will just manually enter it, but I guess the manufacturer coupon is supposed to be only for makeup
As for the monthly coupon book, apparently that one is indeed for only actual cosmetics for face and not removers…it won’t work. :/

Ok question I know this doesn’t have anything to do with Walgreens but I was wondering what is a good price on cardstock paper and does it go on sale like other school supplies? Thanks for any help on this!!

    • brandice

Check out Dollar Tree. I am in Atlanta,Ga area and mine’s always has some or try Michaels

      • Casey

Amazon has it for less than $10 a pack. I always think that is not a bad deal for colored cardstock and the quality is excellent.

    • Jan

The sale ends 7/20, but if you go to Staples.com/coupons, there is a coupon to get a 50 pack of staples photo supreme double sided matte photo paper for $11.99 with a $11.99 rebate, so free after rebate. It is 61 lb weight and makes great cover stock & card stock for projects.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The oral b is a no-go on the DD. The 7/14 wk is for the ProHealth clinical pro flex toothbrush and the 7/21 wk is for the 3D white proflex toothbrush. So, the Oral B DD will *not* work.

Almay is DDing. I bought the intense i-color mascara. It rang up $4.99 + $2.49.

Additionally, Lever 2000 Pomegranate, 16.9 oz, rang up at $2.99 when I price-checked it. So, it should DD because 1,000 points are still in effect for 7/14 wk.

Also, select centrum are DDing. 7/14 wk B1G1-50% select centrum. 7/21 wk $4 off same select centrum, except original is not listed in 7/21 ad. I bought 2 of the silver ultra men’s 100 ct tabs (reg $11.99). They rang up at $7.99 and $3.99. Used $2 IVC in July book and (2) $3/1 mfr q’s (7/14 RP). Final cost was $1.98/2. Just $0.99 each!!

    • paula

Thanks for the heads up Tina, I was going to do the toothbrush deal but not now:)

      • Tina

You’re welcome. So glad you saw the update.

    • Mitchell @ Frugal Finders

      Thank you Tina!

      • Tina

        You’re welcome.

    • amiko

thanks for the tip tina! so, happy just got back from walgreens, got my mom 4 bottles of centrum silver (100 tablets), pay $5.88 including tax.

      • Tina

        You’re welcome! That’s awesome!!

    • Sue Donym

Another big thanks here, Tina! As soon as I saw your comment, I ran out and got my Mom 4 bottles of the Centrum Silver, and I only paid $6.96 total.

With 100 tablets per bottle and only one taken a day, I got her over a year’s supply of name brand multi-vitamins at a bargain.

      THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🙂

      • Tina

You’re welcome. That’s wonderful! Thanks for sharing.

The manager at my local Wags told me that while the sale prices will ring up Saturday afternoon for the sale that starts Sunday, that the register rewards won’t be in the system until Sunday, so I would miss out on any register rewards if I shop the sale on Saturday. Has anyone confirmed that register rewards for the following week will actually print Saturday afternoon?

    • Amber

Register Rewards do not print early but points will. So anything you want that has a register reward starting on a Sunday, you need to wait until that Sunday for it to print.

  6. paula

My son works at Walgreens and did verify that sale prices start on Saturday but register rewards will not print until Sunday.

    • paula

It still helps though because I was able to get some of the cottonelle wipes for .49 today before they were wiped out, lol

  7. Gen

Walgreens has coupons in cosmetics for the Crest $1 off when you buy 2 products and for the Pantene buy 1 get 1 50% and also they have a $2 off coupon when you buy 2 products. Pantene is $4.99 and the second one after coupon is $.49! At cosmetics register today ONLY!

  8. Pam

I also heard that Crayola Markers (10 count)/Crayons/Colored pencils are DD.
    B1g50% off of 99 cent price= 2 for 1.49

  9. Alissa

I purchased 2 Lever 2000 Pomegranate and Coconut body washes which rang up at $2.99 a piece then used 2 $1.50 MF coupons (Lever 2000 FB game) and received 2000 BR so essentially .49 ea.!

    • Becky

I tried the FB game too, but only got a free sample…so disappointed. Oh well.

      • Alissa

You can keep trying! I kept spinning and ended up getting the free sample as well.

    • Tina

Awesome deal, Alissa! So glad the DD worked for you and thanks for the tip on the coupon.

      • Alissa

        Thank you!

  10. Autumn

The July booklet coupon for Almay ($2/1) says one coupon per customer, so I ended up getting two Almay products (intense I-color volumizing mascara and intense I-color liquid eyeliner) for a grand total of $1.85 with tax. Still not bad!

    • Gax

Same here, but I figured 1.80 vs 10.00 was a great deal.

  11. Autumn

Tried to get the Cottenelle butt wipes deal, but the manager was ridiculous and refused to accept the Walgreens July booklet coupon because “it is obviously a different product” due to the picture not matching the product, despite the fact that the description did. Irked. Thanks anyway, Collin.

    • paula

My store had the old and the new tubs and the coupon did not work on either one so the manager price adjusted them by a $1 so I am assuming there is a glitch with this coupon not working on the old tubs or the new tubs and hopefully they will fix it soon, I am lucky to have a store like mine!

      • SUE

WALGREENS IN ROANOKE VA. NEVERS HAS THE PRODUCT ON THE SHELF I QUIT LOOKING AT THE ADS, THEY ARE WASTE OF MY TIME AND GAS MONEY, CVS IS SO GREAT.

    • VB

Aww crud. This is one of the reasons I had stopped shopping Wags. It seemed like staff was not trained on coupons and then with the new registers they never wanted to override anything such as being able to use 2 coupons during a bogo free sale. They figured the registers knew better. I was thinking of going today but reports here and on other blogs have me rethinking that.

  12. Mary

Went to walgreens for the almat deal and manager said it is coupon fraud. After the wags coupon, one rang up at 2.99 and the other .49. She said its fraud to use two $2 coupon. 🙁 I felt so embarassed.

    • Tina

Sorry to hear that you were made to feel that way. You may want to put a call into corp because it is Walgreens’ policy to adjust down a mfr coupon if it exceeds the value of an item. The following is taken from their coupon policy which can be found here: https://www.walgreens.com/topic/help/generalhelp/coupon_policy_main.jsp?erule=couponpolicy

      “Sale Items
Walgreens will accept manufacturer coupons for an item that is on sale.
In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.

      Multiple Coupons
When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value). …”

      Hope this helps some.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! One of my most successful Walgreens trips ever! I got four things of Almay eye liner for FREE, four bottles of Centrum vitamins for $0.99 each and eight packs of Crayola markers for just under $6. Each of the packs of markers had peelies for $2 off Children’s Advil!

    • Tina

You’re welcome! So glad to hear that your DD trip was such a success and thank you for sharing about the peelies on the markers.
